First time in 11 seasons we play each other, when we pipped them to automatic promotion on the final day of the season and Russell Slade was their manager, who later went on to do a very good job with ourselves.

Are we still behind the goal at Blundell Park and is the view still shocking?! Have to say I think this is the worst away end in the whole league - In terms of watching the came - Too far back and you lose half of the pitch and there are too many poles, too far forward and its hard to see, particularly if you're on the short side!

Worst view, but probably one of the noisiest when full? Not expecting either of these to be factors on Saturday though. ;) Still a bit sore about missing out on automatic in 2005/06, when we were in the top 3 practically all season.

Bit worried about this one. Play like we apparently did in the 1st half at Colchester and we're in for a tonking.

Should Shaun Pearson not play, we'll be blown away. Still think we'll definitely concede but also fairly certain of scoring. Especially as Jay Simpson will probably play... Here's hoping for Ollie.

We better keep the same line up as Tuesday. If we do I think we'll win.
Nigel Atangana might be injured, so Robbie Weir will come in.

Other than that the same team will more than likely start.

If we can play the passing game we did on Tuesday night, I'm confident we will create chances and score.

We're still suspect at the back - Stevenage should've scored at least once on Tuesday, although we settled down in the second half, Ivan Erichot will need time to settle IMO.

Mate do you have a picture album of all the grounds you've been to? Must be worth a look that.

Really looking forward to this one, not been to Blundell Park, is the away end as bad as I've heard?

I can definitely see both teams scoring, Grimsby's defence seems to be conceding increasingly, with 0, 1, 2 and 3 in the last 4. Can't see Orient scoring 4 on the road, but to be honest, it all depends what side we put out.

From what I heard Grimsby were a shambles in the first half against Colchester before turning it on in the second half, so very difficult to predict.

If we stick with the team that won on Tuesday we could win comfortably; if we tinker with the side and concede and early goal it could go very badly, so I reckon 1-1.

Big question Mariners: Where do I go to get the best fish, chips and mushy peas?? From what I gather on tripadvisor, Peaks Lane fish bar seems to be a solid option, but would very much appreciate a local's perspective.

If you have the time and money, go to Steels, which is an actual restaurant. You will not have better. If not, Ocean Fish Bar and Ernie Becketts are safe choices. All three are near the seafront. Slightly nearer to the ground is County Fish and Chips. DO NOT go to the Mariners Fish Bar near the ground.

Echo the above, Steels Jumbo Haddock, Chips and Mushy Peas is legendary, but don't forget wherever you go, it's haddock, not cod. Round here all cod is fit for is pet food or the visiting Yorkies. :bg:

If you really do want to go to Peaks Lane Fish Bar though, be prepared to pay about a tenner each way in a taxi as it's the best part of 5 miles from the ground.

I wouldn't trust a word PaulHaddock says tbh!

Another free Saturday by the looks of it, debating whether it's worth it as I've never been to Grimsby before. I'm leaning towards no.

Fucking dreadful view from the away end. A choice between being at the back, dry, unable to see half the pitch and the bit you can see being obscured by a pillar, or at the front, wet and having an appalling view of the entire pitch. No Craig Easton to leap like a salmon either.

Wonder if they'll have any premature celebratory balloons this time?

Thanks Les and Paul for your tips, I would have probably asked for cod (habit), so will gladly feast on Steel's jumbo haddock. I'm almost certain it will be the highlight of my day.

Good choices on the chip shop, but don't agree with the tip about not using the Mariners fish bar next to the ground, it may not be as good as most in Grimsby/Cleethorpes but its still better than the majority anywhere else in the country!

So it's good enough for away fans if they don't have time for anywhere else.

Play like we did in the 2nd half at Colchester and we'll be in with a great chance of a win, however if we play like we did in the 1st half we'll get destroyed.

Pearson HAS to start ahead of Boyce after his nightmare 30 minutes on Tuesday and I'd also bring Disley back into centre-mid as he should be okay again now.

I do hope that we break the sequence we're currently on anyway. 1st game, conceded none, 2nd game conceded 1, 3rd game conceded 2, 4th game conceded 3!

I had a dodgy haddock in there once, was years ago though - must have been because we were playing Man City in a league game...
A Mancunian in queue started chatting up a local girl, they were sparking so well I thought it was going to be Love on a Fish and Chip Shop Counter...could have been a Smiths song...cue other dodgy fish jokes...

Mariner Fish Bar will now be packed with Orient fans tomorrow...

Only if it is a very small fish bar;)

Mariners Fish Bar isn't really a Fish Bar anymore really. It's a pizza/kebab house that just happens to sell fish and chips. Not been the same since Hobson's sold out.

Infact here is two from my last visit to Blundell Park 11 years ago:

Taken on my old Nokia 3330 back in 2005, the nerd in me will be getting some better ones tomorrow!

Apparently we've had yet another stone wall pen turned down.

My first game of the season this and I think we've looked excellent. Orient's only two sniffs have been corners we've gifted them but we dealt with them easily. Last five minutes of the half we played some great football. At first glance it looked like we should've had two penalties, the former judged to be a Disley dive despite the lack of yellow card..

I fear that's our good half though and I can see Orient having a much better second half.

two defensive mistakes, two goals, starting to sound like a broken record now.

2-0 down, not taking our chances and we've been punished. At this rate we're in for a long season.

Disappointing that. We were by far the better team but once their goal went in our heads dropped and we failed to respond. I'll put it down to Orient being a good team and defending well. Encouraging signs but our defence needs to cut out these mistakes and quick.

A lucky win, we were very poor in the first half, we didn't adapt to the conditions at all, our passing was all over the place and our back lines communication at times was non existent. Alex Cisak kept us in the game. Thought Grimsby should've had a penalty for the foul on Disley - poor from Semedo for us. The second shout was more of a falling over for me with no contact.

We were better second half kicking into the wind, we capitalised on two huge defensive lapses from McKeown and Gowling I think it was and we saw the game out quite well I thought despite Vose's goal. Grimsbys players heads dropped at 1-0 I thought, they never quite found the same momentum kicking against the wind in the second half.

A lucky win played in difficult conditions, we improved second half and passed it better and found a rytham but we so easily could've lost.
