PLC is an EU regulatory status that was imposed on many British companies, replacing their previous Ltd status in UK law. Now that we're out, I dare say the current PLC status of all British companies will fall away and revert back to Ltd, when we get around to it, anyway. :£
Not many clubs are PLCs in the grand scheme of things though I don't think? So I think football clubs avoided this somehow. I like the transparency you get with being a PLC and there has been some concern about this from the fans on our side. The new owners will be on the newest DN35 podcast tomorrow, so I'm hoping this gets asked. I don't really know enough about the difference, but apparently it's more difficult to remain as a PLC and sell the shares to the new owners.

I think a big part of it was if we remained a plc they would have to offer to buy everyone's shares because of the amount they were getting from Fenty.

As a ltd company they don't have to do that.

A bit more on the new owners, they are going to run the club using personal cash, no loans, no hidden money etc.

Interviewer seem surprised and they said that's the reaction we got from the EFL too. Though they will be looking for further investors in the future.

Fenty has severed all ties with the club, their holding company is standing behind his loans and paying back in three instalments over 3 years and after increasing investment in playing staff and facilities if club can't pay the loan then they will pay them personally.

Well after to listening to a Q&A session tonight and the various interviews with the new owners, it's an amazing breath of fresh air over the club.

It might sound cliché for new owners to promise the world and be the next best thing. But they didn't give off that vibe. They are lifelong fans, entrepreneurs and investors, but they haven't come in here to make money and if they had, in their own words, it would be the worst investment decision they have ever made.

They have come to change the culture of the club, re-engage with the fans, and build a club that will be around for another hundred years. Yes they have said Hurst will have a good budget that will be improved on from last season and will be at the top end of the National league, and they want to get back into the EFL as soon as possible but they won't make any promises as its hard to get promoted from here.

But they intend to build on the infrastructure as a priority and give the manager the staff around him he needs to take the club forward. They have already started on improving the training facilities for the short term and will be improving the pitch at Blundell Park from next week, but in the longer term are looking for a new training facility which despite some fans asking, won't be out of town as they are here to build on the community so moving it out of town is the opposite of that.

Fans survey going out soon, season tickets will be announced next week including discount for people who bought one this season. Working with the supporters trust including bringing the chair of Mariners trust onto the board. Also want to bring live streaming service in if possible especially for overseas but need to look into the rights with BT Sport etc. first. New Fan zone at the ground brought in by the mariners trust.

Speaking to the academy manager tomorrow, as firmly believe there is nothing better that local lads playing for their local team. So guess no intentions of shutting that down.

Sounds too good to be true most of it, lets hope they live up to what they say and fans back them, even if we don't piss this tinpot league next season, which lets be honest, is not guaranteed no matter how much money you chuck at it!

Goodbye John, now don’t ever come near our club again you fucking parasite.

Quite the sea change. What happened with the new ground he had been talking about for years?

Usual promise that he never delivered.

New owners have said new stadium is not an immediate priority and haven't ruled out redeveloping BP. The good thing is Andrew Pettit background is in property development so at least we have an expert in that area now when they look into it

Do they mean they want a training ground that's accessible by the community? If so, that opens up the availability of grants to build it (like Mansfield did). Or build a private one with no community access and therefore doesn't give access to any grants and has to be funded by the Club (like us).

What's the thought on the Mariners Trust by the Grimsby lot? It seemed to get set-up with some appetite for it (or was it always there but just dormant?) but things slipped away quite quickly on that front.

They didn't say, just that putting a training ground in another town doesn't benefit this town.

The Mariners Trust is still going, but there was a lot of feeling that it was essentially useless as Fenty somehow managed them to persuade to give him their 200,000 or so shares. I can't remember what the exact circumstances were, it was years ago now, but plenty of people refer back to it as blackmail. I just joined for the first time yesterday now that he's gone, not sure what influence they'll have going forward (they may even disband) but it's only £12 a year.

Just what we needed, although sadly a year too late. Gives us an excellent chance of pissing this tin pot League at the first time of asking.

Or the 6th, who knows

We are gonna piss it so hard that the bookies are considering adding us to the odds for this season.
you'd best hope Wrexham and Stockport go up this year then.... because if it's say Sutton and Bromley just look at how many ex-EFL teams will be fighting for 2 spots....

Grimsby, Southend, Barnet, Yeovil, Aldershot, Dagenham & Redbridge and at least 5 (possibly 6 or 7) from Torquay, Stockport, Hartlepool, Halifax, Wrexham, Notts County and Chesterfield.... all either ex-EFL or phoenix clubs - so between 11 and 13 ex-EFL teams fighting for 2 spots.
Every team that's been in it recently (or now) knows it's the hardest league in the country to get promoted out of because there are only 2 places available.

Fenty would no longer be majority shareholder so he threw his toys out and said we would sell Hearn if the shares weren't given to him! Now he has made an extra 200k because the new owners bought all his shares including the 200k that was gifted to him.

Anyhow, seems the new owners has brought more fans to the trust as they have just got to 1000 members tonight with a few hundred joining today

Property developer buys football club. Now, where have we seen that before?
His dad was a local butcher - property developer is incidental to being a lifelong fan. He's the one on the left above, certainly looks like a butcher's son...

Jason Stockwood is the one on the right hi-tech entrepreneur and all-round MBA type.

It could be said they jumped on the bandwagon (like some fans of another Lincolnshire team) as they both started going in 1979 - a somewhat eventful and highly successful season - old third division champions, clinched on the last day with a 4-0 spanking of the Blades, League Cup QF - took Wolves to 3 games, having beaten Everton in the previous round. We got to the 3rd round of the FA Cup also with a win over Sheffield United on the way. We lost 5-0 at Anfield - the Kop made up a load of fishy names for their players (Kenny Dogfish, Phil Eel etc) for our amusement.

To be fair this pair have stuck by the club as fans through the last disastrous 20 years under J S Fenty. And in that time they appear to have made sheds loads of money...

So nice to be back BTW...

Tinpot. On what grounds?
Just because it's not fair?

Oh, hold on, we were the worst team in the division for most of the season and the league table agrees with that!

It's actually a moan about the NL not relegating anyone but the FL are, or very close to that; as i said initially 'Embarrassing'

Huge straw clutching if ever I saw it, we were the worst team in the league for big chunks of this season and even though we’ve been much better of late we still fully deserve relegation, staggered that we’re trying this.
