Despite signing the world's best player , if I'm honest , I think we'll have a decent start and drift away after Christmas...... In all honesty,.how do you think your lot will do?

be nice if we signed someone, anyone will do. It looks like we are waiting for the bottom of the barrel to come in to view before "taking the best player available"
I still think around 8-10th

I think 10th-12th for us. Solid signings so far, good enough to see us well clear of relegation but not the sort who would propel us to the top.

I fancy us for play-offs ish at the moment. I don't really buy in to the idea that the league will be much stronger this season. Sure, teams like Cambridge, Pompey and Oxford have/are strengthening significantly, but they were all dog shit last season. They've got a long way to go to match the teams that we have lost from the league this season. My initial impressions are that the teams who came down don't look all that strong either, although you never can tell - we had a real mixed performance last season from the relegated teams obviously. Also, some of the teams who made the play-offs last season will, I think, be significantly weaker this time around - Wycombe due to the team built on expired loans, Stevenage due to the lack of Westley.

So I don't see us doing worse than we did the season just gone, when it required a really quite spectacular bottle job to fall out of the play off places. That kind of run was a freak really, an aberration in a season that otherwise would have seen us in the mix for the top 3, never mind the top 7.

That said, until we make some more signings to address our glaring weaknesses of last season, I don't see us doing much better than last year either. So far, our signings have mostly just improved on and added squad depth at the back, which was already our strong point last season. Until/unless we sign some pace, flair and power in the attacking third, I'm remaining cautious. If we go into the new season with Mark Cullen and Paul Benson as our strikers again then we ain't going up automatically, no chance at all. I'm sure we won't do that, but until we see who the new signings will be it's hard to predict.

On paper we most definitely have a top three starting line up (can we ignore the depth?)... This was also the case last season...

I think we'll finish somewhere between 1st and 20th. Genuinely don't know what to expect.

Similar season to Cambridge last season.

No you can't ignore depth,.that is my concern with Pools, and I imagine everyone is the same, that is why a bit of luck with injuries and loan choices goes a long way in league 2

We'll finish about 15th. Enough to stay away from relegation, but not good enough to challenge for the top 10.

Possibly as high as 10th but more likely 14th-18th. First eight games look really tough so not expecting a good start.
We seem to perform the same in league 2 almost every season. Slow start improving towards Christmas, poor Jan and Feb before recovering again in March\April.

If I'm truthful, this is beginning to look more like one of our typical Conference seasons in terms of bubbling fan optimism with massive opportunities for disappointment and despair - perhaps best summed up by the Ling Fwee Year Plan (not a calendar from the local Chinese restaurant - which would have been more useful).

At this stage, fans like myself, "hand on heart," genuinely, honestly think we'll finish Top 3.........but then something triggers the hellogregory button and we see Corr doing a metatarsal, the white Pele getting a Luke Guttridge dose of Glandular Fever and Richard Money having a punch up with Greg F*ckin Dyke over B teams.

However, optimism remains dominant until the Exiles turn us over 0-1 on the opening day.

So, I think we'll finish in the Top 3, along with Portsmouth and Plymouth.

Struggling with relegation for most of the season. I don't see us going down at the moment but I can't see us being too far away from the fight.

With our current team mid-table or an outside shout to scrape into the playoffs.
With the signing of a decent striker to partner Nichols and experienced center back we could be automatic contenders.

I'd love to think we could get a top 3 spot, but I think we'll be consistently in the play offs without any real danger of falling out of them but without ever really consistently threatening the top 3 either

I'm more optimistic. Despite the current lack of signings, I think it'll be dull, tedious mid-table obscurity again.

I will answer this when we actually sign some of the seven mystery players we need to bring in.

I'm a bit more optimistic than the fellow Barnet fans on here, I think we could be surprise contenders for the play-offs.
Our opening fixtures may look tough on paper but League 2 is always very unpredictable with the season never turning out as neatly cut and dried as in any of the other national divisions (the Championship is probably the next least predictable, followed by the Conference, then League 1 and then of course the Premiership) with the gap between top and bottom narrower than it was a few years ago.

To the delight of many on here, I think we'll have another relegation scrap, but I'm hopeful that we'll stay up. If I were to give an exact position, I'd say 20th.

I'll answer this once we have signed a Keeper. If we get that position right I see no reason why we can't go and finish in the top half and have a little flirt with the play offs, If not it will just be a season in midt table.

Anywhere from playoffs to about 18th, so much depends on what players we sign.

I refuse to get into some sort of a banter duel regarding season prospects with a fucking Exeter fan. I've just peeped at your squad for the first and also last time and the optimism astounds me, is it based on the fact you might some good players at some point?

You've got Scot Bennett mate. Every player looks shit when Notts are signing world class talents like him.

I could pick out a shite player from every club at this level because, amazingly, League 2 teams generally don't have squads of 24 where every player is good. They don't even have starting XIs where every player is good, we once walked the division with John Thompson and Stephen Hunt as our full-backs and Delroy Facey up-front.

So yeah, we've got that bloke who was your captain a year ago and probably isn't very good and will be a bit of a utility, back-up player...we're fucked. I hereby promise to never comment upon another person's team on here. We'll probably get relegated, in fact, Scot Bennett likely single-handedly stopped Exeter winning the division last season.

I think we'll have a typical shit patch and a typical good patch. We have enough talent in the squad to be safe though. I'd plump for around mid table come May with maybe a few months spent nervously looking over our shoulders.

I'm always light-hearted. I merely provoke debate, like the League 2 Katie Hopkins. I like Exeter because I like Tisdale...less of the willy-waving, bold optimism though - leave that to Luton fans and their failure to recognise they support a League 2 club.

Not provocative or too bright. Just boringly repetitive and negative. Esp not having been around 2 mins
