Lower mid table, fighting relegation. We've had our chance to go up and we didn't take it. Rhodes and Gestede will no doubt both leave us for no more than £12m between them. We'll be in £100m+ debt and if we don't go down this year - we will next year. Not that it matters anyway as we'll cease to exist within 5 years.

Who will you support?

When you do go under, you've got a range of decent clubs around you though. Preston, Bolton, Burnley. All cracking clubs. Not a poultry farmer to be seen in any of them. Just take your pick.

Somewhere around 10th to 15th with our current squad and one or two new players. A nice quiet mid-table season would suit me nicely. Plus the gas going down again.

Mid-table at best I reckon. That might be just the lack of transfer activity making me say that, but also looking through the fixture list shows how hard this league is going to be. A few impressive signings and we will win the league at a canter............

Out of interest, what clubs are NOT represented in this forum.

There seems to be minions and minions of BCFC, a lot of Preston, a vocal little cluster of South Londoners at MK Dons, a rich, smug, confident group of Rams (for the last season if they learn not to fuck it up at the last gasp), then three or four from Leeds, Wolves, Wednesday, Rotherham, Brentford, Reading, Ipswich, Birmingham, .....

One (or maybe two) at Charlton, Cardiff, Blackburn, Bolton, Burnley, Huddersfield, Aston Villa, QPR, Hull, Forest

Anyone from Brighton? Fulham? Middlesbrough?

I think we'll finish top half pushing for the play offs providing we sign the right players and get the management right, currently though we're nearly in July, have no manager, no new signings and only Kieron Lee has signed a new deal. I'll stay positive though- 9th.

There were a couple of Boro posters around last season, not seen them for a while though.

No Fulham. We had 1 guy for a week or so but he disappeared.

I'd better say 22nd, and a long long way behind Sheffield Wednesday otherwise we'll be accused of being arrogant....:err:

3rd.

Slow start, Norwich-esque.

We didn't really have a slow start. We won 5 of our first 7 and were top of the league for most of September. Us dropping away was more down to complacency/believing the hype and naivety on the manager's behalf (understandable given he was learning his trade under huge expectation) than a slow start.

What have I missed?

A certain other poster on here got very touchy and quite abusive a few weeks back when it was suggested we might have a good season. Doesn't matter now though, dickhead is on my ignore list. :)

I'd say 4th or 5th for us with the right additions. We've been steadily improving over the last 3 years and I genuinely feel another play off place is on the cards.

I don't think any starting 11 players will leave but we do need to get a new RB and possibly another cm and a back up striker to allow us to play 433. Having only Murphy and Sears hurt us I think during the last few months.

There's alot of rumours going around that Mings or Murphy might go. I see 4million quoted for Murphy, I'd snap the hand off anyone willing to pay that, considering he's 32 now. I think if Ipswich improved their midfield and maybe got a couple of wingers they could maybe go one better than the play offs.

I can honestly say Murphy will be going nowhere and Mings, well, if anyone does go he'd be the one. But I don't think he will go, too early for him. Should follow Creswells career, had a few years at this level and then look what he did in the prem this season!

Murphy is settled, 3 loans with us followed by signing a permanent contract, and always said the family liked Suffolk. I can't see him upping his family again. Even though we're being offered millions for him, he's arguably worth more than that to us. He's vital to how we play and if we keep him and go up, there's millions more than the 4 mill.

Wingers are definitely what we need if we play 442, but the team work really well playing 433, look comfortable.

Most likely outcome for Murphy is that we offer him an improved deal due to the speculation. He's consistently said he doesn't want to move.. he's just bought a house in the area and we would definitely turn down £4mil for him.

Mings on the other hand, I can see him going - I'd welcome it if it's anywhere near the £8-£10m figure that's being quoted.

As for where we'll finish. Confident of the playoffs again, imagine it may be a little more comfortable this time round, just a hunch.

You would turn down 4 million for a 32 year old Championship striker? :eye:

You could get a much younger and probably better striker in this league for that sort of money.

Yeah, we don't need the money and he suits us down to the ground. Tried and tested, why risk change when he doesn't wanna go? Him & Sears teamed up fantastically, couple that with McGoldrick and it's a no brainer as to why we aren't keen to disrupt our front line. Either way, given his personal situation it's a bit of a mute point.

That's fair enough I suppose. If you don't need to sell and he is happy to stay then you can charge any price you like.

Did Chris Wood not get a look in and has he gone back to Leicester?

He impressed me when he was at Millwall, surprised he's not a regular in The Championship somewhere.

Somehow i'm not that confident this year...I think we will miss the playoffs again this season..

Probably somewhere between 8th and 10th..
Sako's absense will hurt us a lot,no doubt..

Prove me wrong team

With the squad as it is (ie. gaping holes, practically nothing in attack) it'll be another major struggle right down the bottom. If, and it's a big if, we have a productive summer with Hughton able to land some of our main targets, then maybe mid-table, pushing top half as it looks as though Bloom is providing a healthy budget.

At the very least we'll have the stability of actually having the same manager heading into pre-season, for the first time in several years. I also don't see us losing any key players, chiefly because we have very few that anyone would want..

He didn't really impress no, quite disappointing to be honest as I thought he might have been the final bit in the jigsaw last season!

We definitely don't need to sell this year, increased attendances, retail sales are above 1 million quid for the first time in 5 years (due to Adidas), play off games, Cresswell sale. It's good to be a Town fan for once
