Wishing a very happy diwali to the 1ff family, and indeed your families also. Last one before they enact "Article 50".

Children celebrating Diwali used to bring Indian sweets in to school back in the day.

Where are they, Carel?

Funny you should mention that, Stevencc. It's a little known fact that during the 1980s and 1990s Indian children did indeed bring sweets to gift to their Christian school friends as a gesture of giving to celebrate the Hindu Festival of Lights. However, these sweets were unpleasant to Western palates (which were not as accustomed to exotic flavours back then as they are now) and the children found them to be quite horrible. However, not wanting to cause offence by refusing the gift, the Christian youngsters took them anyway, and when at home, surreptitiously fed them to their pet dog. The spices contained within the sweets acted strangely upon the canines' digestive tract, and caused them to excrete a most peculiar faeces. It is for that reason that "white dog poo" was so common during that era, and, since the Indian children don't bring the sweets any longer, also why it is no longer sighted.

Thanks.
