Ah yes! A thread that I can fully sink my teeth in to. Hybrid Theory is still such an incredible album, as is Meteora. It's a shame Linkin Park went in a completely different direction following those though, although the collaboration album with Jay-Z still gets regular plays in my iTunes. Phenomenal.

Depending on how "hard" you like your rock I'd suggest listening to Erra, Slaves (the US band, not the UK indie one of the same name), This or the Apocalypse and Being As An Ocean, who are all doing fantastic things at the minute.

Don't know 'bout other but I liked their latest album, The Hunting Party quite a bit. They went downhill since M2M and finally seems to have found the mojo back.

Saw Linkin Park perform Hybrid Theory in full at download last year, was incredible. Then they ruined the set for me afterwards by playing loads of shit from their new stuff.

I haven't given Hunting party a proper go though so perhaps I should.

Some of the tracks I liked from The Hunting Party

1. Rebellion
2. Until It's Gone
3. Guilty All The Same
4. Mark The Graves
5. A line in the sand

Check these out. Other are decent too but these are the ones I liked the most. You might not like these but do give the full album a proper go !

Been listening to Superunknown by Soundgarden again this week. An all time classic that gets better on every listen. Probably my favourite from it

That superunknown album is one one of my all time favs, still gets a good ol blast every now and then, shame none of their other stuff hit the same heights though.

Badmotorfinger was excellent as well, and the other 4 albums have their moments. Them two though are fantastic

I maybe in the minority but badmotorfinger never done it for me, preferred down on the upside more than that, king animal on the other hand was way down the other end off the scale, really disappointed with that.

Does Breaking Benjamin go here? I aye got a clue on genre's, they all sound similar to me. It's either soft, normal or hard to my ears.

FINALLY!

New Breaking Benjamin album, man, what a band. Thinking about it they were the band that actually got me into rock and my taste in music evolved from there. Which in turn I found about them from their song cameo in Halo 2 :bg1:

New album itself is good, a few really, really good ones and 1 or 2 which are okay, but I'm just happy they are back and the album is not shite.

One of my favorite is Rise Against - The Good Left Undone

Rise Against have got some ridiculously good songs on their early releases, but they've never really kicked on and produced anything as good as The Unraveling or RPM in my opinion. Siren Songs of the Counter Culture has its moments, and I quite like that song Prayer of the Refugee but other than that I kind of lost interest them in a while ago.

I love The Sufferer and the Witness. Injection is an immense track.

Unfortunately I only discovered these guys after they had already disbanded. Great band and a great drummer.

However it does look like they were influenced by The Jesus Lizard, who are and will always be one of my favs.

And this one literally leaves me speechless, I'm not kidding. Epic.

That the same bassist vanni? Certainly looks like him. Not a bad couple of tracks but their crying out for a decent voice.

Keep posting or just pm vanni any other bands, could do with a new batch.

Sorry Arbury, meant to reply earlier but forgot I guess. Yeah that's the same bassist, Brian Cook. He was still in TAAS when he started recording with RC, but joined full time when TAAS disbanded.

I could do with some other new bands too, but imo, the trend in alt-rock nowadays is post-rock, ie no vocals at all just like RC, who are actually considered one of the best in that genre. Also, a lot of decent bands nowadays are on the Sargent House label, so perhaps you should check that label out. Some of my favs are all on it - Marriages, Chelsea Wolfe, Wovenhand and so on.

Am currently listening to these guys, but it's not exactly my style.
