Just wondering what people think of him after his failure to find the back of the net this season in the EPL.

For me it was always going to be a much more difficult season for him. Last season nobody expected much from him and now that's completely changed there comes an added pressure to perform. Also, defenders are obviously that little bit more wise when coming up against him. I do think he's a very good player and once he gets his first goal this season for Spurs, which will more than likely go in off his arse or something, he'll soon be scoring goals again. I haven't seen much of Spurs this season but from what I have he's actually been playing alright, without obviously finding his goal-scoring touch.

I also don't think that the current Spurs side is the most creative they've had. Eriksen is a clever little player but the likes of Mason, Bentalebe and Chadli are much more workman-like. Under Pochettino they also seem to play at a much slower tempo too, although that obviously didn't effect him last season.

Well, I think he only scored his first league goal of the season last year in November, so to start putting any pressure on a 22 year old (who has also just scored in successive substitute appearances for the national side) for failing to have scored by the 15th September is slightly critical.

I thought he was shit against Sunderland. Constantly just aimlessly running into traffic and wasted a few good chances. I do rate him but he's started the season as poorly as Rooney and if he was playing for a big club he'd be getting a lot more criticism.

Prior to this weekend he was doing fine, he made the most of very little (albeit without scoring) and provided a threat for Spurs, eg. The ball for Eriksen to put his shot over when he should score vs Man Utd or for the goal v Leicester where he started the move and probably would have ended it too had Chadlis overhit cross not just gone over Kane for Dele Alli to clean up at the back post. However in the game against Sunderland it did appear that the pressure of not scoring was affecting his game. He took a few too many touches in good positions presumably because it was on his mind to score more than would usually be the case and his air shot again showed that in that game he was perhaps in danger of thinking, something footballers generally shouldn't do! Instead of playing on instinct he looked like he was overthinking things to try and give himself the perfect scoring chance rather than just having an effort on goal. He'll get in amongst the goals but he needs a lot more help from a really underwhelming Spurs side.

It's still very early in the season yet. He will probably go and score a hat-trick against Palace on Sunday now.

I always felt he'd struggle this season given how well he performed last season. I don't think he'll be a one-season wonder though. He's still young and will make mistakes. He'll come good sooner or later.

I still think he's very good. IanH and JimJams both articulated good reasons why "one season wonder" is overly-critical and likely inaccurate. Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa each only have a single league goal this season. Giroud has two and he's still running from the pitchforks. Kane will finish with 15-20.

I do think the media circus around him last season was a bit too much. He had a great season, no doubt, but I do think he's become a little overrated* based on it. Saying all that, anyone criticising his scoring record in September needs looking at.

*he could develop in to a top talent but he's not there yet.

His general play has still been good thus far hasn't it? I thought he looked sharp aganst United in the opener.

Tottenham as a whole is having difficulties to create goal situations but I think Kane is a good player. He could show his skills at his England NT performances, just need to find his way at EPL this season and he has the competence to do it, also, as said above, it's still soon to demand him.
