Roberto Martinez not for the first time shows the football world money can't but you class....................or Stones.

You know as well as I do that Stones will be a Chelsea player in the next 12 months....and we will buy him with real money.

As for Jose...yes he's lost the plot so far this season. The whole saga with the physios was unnecessary...signing a player he's never heard of on the back of not getting Stones was mind boggling....as is playing the same 11 underperforming players week in week out.

He as much as anyone needs to keep his head down and do what he's good at, winning. The whole circus surrounding the club is helping nobody but Man City.

You make some really good points here bb. However the bit about Stones is a bit optimistic. He's not going to want to join a club in the championship.

Fixed.

Seeing how pathetic Chelsea and, in particular, Mourinho have been so far this season is a big source of amusement. Normally it's only Everton Liverpool fans get to laugh at. Mourinho almost seems determined to remind every non-Chelsea fan why so many were happy when he fucked off back in 2007. He takes losing badly to another level and, at times, makes Fergie look classy.

Of course, it will make no difference by the end of the season and Chelsea will comfortably finish in the top 4 as usual. They seem a long way off challenging City at the moment though, I for one had them down as favourites pre-season.

Mourinho has always been a bit of a moaner, but he's got away with it because he's delivered when it matters.

Chelsea haven't really got their backsides into gear yet, and although it's only a matter of time before they do, the longer it goes on the more pressure he'll be under.

On Newcastle:
I think maybe one of the reasons why Newcastle over the years doesn't get good positions is because of this mentality, it's because they choose some matches to sweat blood and in other matches, they don't.

This is an attitude typical of a team that wins nothing.

Magnanimous as ever.

Bit amusing watching him struggle this season, although he seems to be getting away with it for some reason. Haven't heard anything about him being under pressure, which is a bit strange considering they have a mere 8 points from 7 games.

He has yet to show that he is capable of building a successful team for more than a couple of years. So far he seems to be failing at that again.

Would be interesting to see if Mourinho could manage a club that **didn't** have hundreds of millions to spend on players.

Wonder if he could manage a League 1 or 2 club to a single win?

I'm not sure why people use the 'bad loser' tag to put down Mourinho. Surely all of the top managers have that inside them? Fergie was the same at United. They're winners and don't take defeat kindly. It's part of what makes them.

Yeah, and everyone is allowed to laugh at them for it.

It wasn't meant to be. But I'm sure Mourinho will be having a chuckle to himself at the end of the season with at least one more trophy added to his collection.

Signed a new 4 year deal about a month ago is probably the main reason.

His relationship with the top dogs at Chelsea seems to be much better this time too.

Has a title winning team ever had a run of 8 points from 7 games before? It's all well and good saying this is a bad start but surely someone, somewhere has had a spell like this and still won?

It's still funny though seeing the media's darling fail. Can't stand the guy.

blackburns start in 95/96 was awful.....7 points in first 8 games i believe.

Chelsea will be fine, i fully expect them to be there or their abouts comes May. A few weeks ago man city were walking the league, United are now top, their next 3 games will surely see them drop down. It's september....long way to go.
