Forever a contentious debate, and I'll always admire the Liverpool man, but this season is adding supportive evidence for Lampard having been the better player than Gerrard. Not only longevity, but Lampard's season in Chelsea's first premier league title win is a peak I don't think Gerrard can claim to have bettered. In my opinion, he never quite reached that level of consistency.

He's been an irresponsible leader in his twilight years. The slip from last year masks the bigger crime of going into business for himself, smashing 30 yarders into the stands constantly rather than maintaining the team's philosophy. Now, with his team gaining so much momentum, he lets everyone down, again.
