This from HUST:
The HUST Board is able to announce that the vote on the Hereford FC proposal has generated an overwhelming positive vote by the Membership.
Having recommended the proposal to our members, we can announce that 96.71% of voters accepted the proposal to form a partnership with the Jon Hale group to form Hereford FC.
The result will now give Hereford FC a mandate to take on negotiations with Herefordshire Council and the FA.
Apart from email votes, we received more than eighty via telephone to our special voicemail number

Take two of this, after the thread was deleted(See Announcements!) Now that the proposal has been accepted we can now move on as a united front to gain the leases to Edgar street.

Talking of Edgar street, here is a few photos off what it is looking like at the moment.

Good news that you're closer and closer to getting hold of Edgar Street.

Can't help but feel you've missed a great opportunity to be fan owned/run though. What's the general feeling amongst Hereford fans?

Can't really argue with 97% accepting the proposal. Overall people are happy with the proposal with a couple of things that could be changed and improved on, but overall Majority are happy with the way it will be run, also in the future the trust will be the Majority shareholder.

Sorry to be completely ignorant, but are you currently playing in a league? Or has the old team folded forever and you're currently working on setting up a phoenix club?

Such a shame what has happened and I wish you all the best in getting it all sorted.

Old team was wound up on the 19th December, currently working on a Phoenix.
Thank you.

Any idea yet what league you will have to start in?

We (re)started at step 5 (4 at the time) and look at us now. If you have the support, you can do it.

Good luck.

Good luck Hereford.
If you have half as much fun climbing the leagues as we did, then you're in for a real blast.
You're about to embark on the greatest roller coaster ride of your lives.

They don't half deserve it!

Will be keeping an eye on you as I have with all former league sides when they've gone to the wall.

It's never nice to see a club go bust.

I think out of all the post-2002ish 'phoenix clubs' (not that you guys are a phoenix club in the truest sense of the word) you have reached a level that most of the others never will, owing in part to owning a ground & all the revenue that comes with it, while also being able to upgrade it whenever you need to / have to.

Chester & Halifax have kept their old grounds (not sure how the ground ownership works for those though) & therefor also have the potential but have never had no where near the media backing & publicity coverage that you guys received (for obvious reasons).

FC United have had the media backing & publicity (albeit for like only the first couple of years) but have no ground of their own just yet. I'm sure when their new ground is finished they will flourish though.

Then there is the other end of the phoenix spectrum... the Scarborough(s). 2 clubs claiming to be the successor of the original & both unable to even reach Senior non league levels since they've been formed.

And hen finally there is AFC Croydon Athletic, which is just a big 'lol' all round.

I didn't know there were two Scarboroughs.
You have to account for the fact that AFC Wimbledon's fan base is a great deal larger than either Halifax's or Chester's as well.

The council own our ground and pretty sure Chester is the same.

Me neither The other Scarborough. "Scarborough Town FC were formed in 2008 and Folded in 2013 after Pitch/Ground Grading issues.

Anyone got a link to what that (accepted) proposal includes?

How much of the club will be owned by fans, how much by the private group? What is the proposed running structure?

As for other issues:

You need a 10 year lease on a ground in order to be accepted. You are very unlikely to be allowed to bend the rules as the FA are finally clamping down on the ground grading rules, meaning clubs who are currently in leagues but fail ground gradings are under threat of expulsion (though this may or may not happen!). A 10 year lease is an entry requirement.

You might not get placed in a step 5 league, you might have to start in step 6 as we did. You won't have the ability to appeal like Chester due to the fact that the FA changed the rules in that all reformed clubs must start at least 2 levels lower than they were, and crucially, that this can be no higher than step 5. Should Portsmouth or somebody like that have gone under I am sure the rules would have been bent on the same grounds as Chester winning their appeal to start at step 4 (inability of grounds at that level to cope with crowds involved).

Hope things go well for Hereford, a favourable council owning the ground is pretty much the best possible situation for a pheonix club these days!

I often wonder where we'd be had we had a ground in Maidstone when we reformed. It's absolutely the key to a swift return.

I think choosing the right manager is also key. We were fortunate enough to invite Neil Young to do the job. It was only when he reached the Conference Premier that he was found wanting, but did a fabulous job in winning us 3 consecutive titles. Our current manager is pretty decent too.

This is the lease for Edgar street(in the red) Cut out both terrace ends of the ground, which includes no toilets, also The floodlights are out of the red rectangle. Also, the two ends which aren't in the red rectangle are the ends which can be developed.

Statement from Council:
The end terraces have been excluded from the lease as they require considerable expenditure to bring them up to a safe and usable condition; there is sufficient capacity in east and west stands to meet the likely spectator capacity.

Maybe the Council have another plan for the stands.

Redditch is at least an hour away from Hereford though, surely? They only get around 150 for home games in Redditch so that would plummet.
