Hull's bid to change their name to Hull Tigers has been rejected again by the FA Council.

We can but hope!

No shock to see Greg Dyke voted FOR the name change. I thought he was there to protect English football, not aid in destroying it?

How does a name change destroy it?

Change one name and you set a precedent. It wouldn't be long until every club looked at changing their name for financial gain and sponsorship.

Some things are sacred, no?

Name changes aren't all bad if done correctly, I mean the amount of publicity we got because of our total rebrand in 2004 was huge, and in the grand scheme of things it's been pretty successful

But in this case, with hull being the team most of my family support I'm glad the fuckers been told where to go again, not only was the name ridiculous but the reasoning behind it was ludicrous

I thought the rumours were that this time the change was likely to be accepted?

Pleased for the supporters that it wasn't though.

He's got no argument whatsoever now, the marketable argument holds no water now we've been relegated. I'd expect some more posturing and threats but the idea should be dead now.
