Big one this. If we win, we go top albeit for a little under 24 hours.

Hull missing Dawson and Robertson through suspension, and also Meyler I think due to injury?
We're missing Bradley Johnson through suspension.

Will be a tough one, and I'd be delighted with a point here when we're away from home. Think Hull might just snatch it though.

Hull 1-0 Derby

A good measurement of what we can achieve this season, along with the following couple of games too. The sort of game we have been losing over the past few years so it'll be interesting to see if we can cause an upset here.

Hopefully I can get back home in time to catch it on the box.

Missing this due to work celebrating Xmas early!

Can only see a narrow low scoring game to be honest would be nice to win but we never beat Steve Bruce's teams.

1-0 loss

MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head

  • The Tigers have won five of the last six meetings with Derby (L1), enjoying two 2-1 victories over them the last time they met in the league in 2012-13.
  • Derby have managed just one clean sheet in their last 23 meetings with Hull, with that shutout coming in a 1-0 win at the KC Stadium in January 2012.
Hull

  • Hull City have won seven and lost none of their last 11 Championship matches.
  • The Tigers have conceded a league-low nine goals so far this season.
Derby

  • After failing to score in his first 11 league appearances for Derby, Andreas Weimann has netted in three of his last four.
  • Derby have lost just once in their last 12 league games, winning nine (D2).
Doesn't look good for us if we're going by recent history...

You could translate that into any Steve Bruce record against us. We've always struggled against his teams.

Hendrick in for BJ, as expected.

Two strong teams but I think Hull might have a bit more pedigree.

Let's see how this one unfolds. Come on boys!

Derby take a deserved lead, we've looked wobbly defensively. No chances created, fancy us to improve but Derby look better so far and easily countering us.

Deserve that. Hull nervy at the back so far, injuries clearly set them back. Not looked at all like a team that went 9 hours without conceding.

Again, poor clearance but nice finish. Game done, brings us down a peg or two.

Jesus Christ, Hull have looked awful defensively. Allowing far too much space and time on the ball, and they've been punished for that in the second goal. Christie was in acres of space when he received the ball on the right, and Butterfield had no-one near him when he took aim. Pretty poor and not what I expected from this side.

Derby look good but Hull are the type of team who just keep plugging away, Derby need another on the break to kill it.

Good game that. This'll be like last season with 5 at the top going blow for blow and all ending up around 85-90pts. Should be fun!

3rd time lucky for Derby?

Looking very solid after a slow start.

Cracking win.

Only saw the first half but we looked pretty good I thought, sounded like Carson made a couple of really good saves in the second half to keep the advantage but that's becoming a bit of the norm, very impressed with him.
Warnock has stepped up to the plate after Forsyth's injury, Thorne and Butters were very good too - two very good finishes. Another blank for Chris Martin but his build up play is immense, contributing all the time.

The kind of result we're going to need a few more times against rivals this season if we're to get out of this division, Hull will be straight back on it next week I imagine. Long way to go but nights like this will certainly help.
