I know it's only a few games into the season but with Cook at Ipswich and Wellens at Donny still not posting wins, is the pressure on them already or is someone else a prime candidate for the bullet before either of those?

I hope we’re featuring in this thread soon.

Adkins hopelessly out of his depth.

The people who run my club are very resistant to sackings. Fan pressure could of course change that if results don’t pick up by October though.

I personally didn’t think he was the right appointment at the time after our disaster with Andy Butler in the second half of last season.

Fan pressure won’t work, it’s been stated as a rebuilding year and he will be given time just like O’Driscoll was

Wellens is absolutely nothing without Eoin Doyle. And Bolton aren't parting with Doyle anytime soon.

Cook and Adkins have high expectations but just aren't delivering. We, on the other hand, won't sack Artell anytime soon nor do I want him to be sacked given it's a massive rebuild for us this season.

Cotterill will be first to go in my opinion. His Shrewsbury side are an aberration. An aberration we should've beaten yesterday but blew a big chance to do so.

Whether he his or not we won’t sack him unless we are bottom of League 2 at Christmas next season, he will be given time to pull things around a luxury most managers don’t have

If that is the case then the club isn’t as well run as I thought.

Not sure how that relates to how well the club is run
If we keep a manager after one relegation and then are in another relegation battle fighting for our football league status and don’t sack him till half way through the season I would suggest that wouldn’t be a particularly wise move from those at the top of the club, no.

I suspect that would be almost universally held opinion…

It seems that our fanbase are beginning to turn on Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley. They are blaming the Covid situatiion, but some of the worst results in our history have come in their tenure ~~ 8-1 at Blyth Spartans, 0-6 v Stockport, plus multiple embarrassments aganst never-heard-of-before teams in the FA Cup and FA trophy.

Cook has until Christmas at the bare minimum and that would be based if he didn't win a game.

Something does need to start clicking, but our owners have been pretty clear that they would accept a Championship return as a 2 year project. If Cook has us inside the top 10 come May, whilst disappointing, he definitely gets another season. They've been really transparent about this.

Congratulations on your triple promotion all the way to League 1.

Indeed, it would be extremely unusual for a board to give the manager their backing and then sack him a few months later.

While I've quite enjoyed Ipswich's plight this season after the weird and often hostile interactions between our clubs in the transfer window, I still think just one win will kick off a good run of results. Cook can be quite a streaky manager.

Although the results have been crap so far, he won't compromise on his preferred formation and suddenly put out two banks of four to grind out a 0-0. He will stick with the 4-2-3-1 until he gets the mix right.

It might not happen for a couple of games yet though, with tough games vs Lincoln and Wednesday.

Nice try, well done on completely missing the point.

This was the narrative from Day 1 of the takeover. His job is safe, for now; despite concern.

Not missing the point Tractor, nor am I looking or for a rise, just merely saying that the owners may have said that when they took over but if you are still around the foot of the table come Christmas (personally I don’t think I you will be) then they may well change their mind.

There are many candidates for the chop. We saw Hughton go yesterday which was not a surprise.
The sword of Damocles is hanging right over Adkins who I think will go first, then Wellens and cotterill in close succession. 2 weeks for all 3 of them I reckon.
Cook will be fine as they will get their shit together I’m sure by the time the clocks go back.

I thought it was a big coop for Charlton to get Adkins. Shows how much I know.

Wellens won’t go this season unless he walks, definitely won’t be sacked
