Carry’s on the way he’s going and he’ll get a big club who are less of a basket case than West Brom. A month ago he publicly rejected the Huddersfield job and spoke about the project here etc.

Few days ago he said that we shouldn’t sell Cooper In Jan as we want to get to the Championship. Personally I don’t think he’ll leave.

For what it's worth, a month ago plenty of Exeter fans were saying very similar stuff about Taylor.

And a few months back Cheltenham were saying the same about Duff.

Fucking Cambridge keep saying it about Bonner as well, but he seems to be a loyal bastard!!!

We were actually saying we expected Bonner to go - we were much more negative!

Schumacher would have a bigger budget and would increase his own wage but I think it’s a tough job there - several managers from lower leagues have stepped up to bigger clubs in the Championship and found themselves struggling - I’m thinking Nathan Jones, Darren Ferguson and that ex FGR guy who went to Leeds off the top of my head. Expectation is enormous at that level, if it doesn’t work then you’re stuffed.

Schumacher is on to a good thing at Plymouth and they’re not exactly tiny anyway, good catchment area and decent sized ground means there’s still plenty of growth there. I think he’ll do well with them in the Championship next season (assuming of course they go up this season).

Would be a real shame if Schumacher jumps ship. Might give the rest of us a chance though

Gonna be a testing day or two for us. We are either going to lose another manager, or he will be committed for the rest of the season until Everton come calling.

As said, take the chance to move up while you can. It can soon turn to ratshit. With us Karl Robinson had offers from above and stayed, now he's pretty well a league 1 journeyman. Last season Manning was being looked at by championship clubs, this season he's looking at the sack.

Things change very quickly.

Cowley took his time with us and half got it right.

He left at the right time in the sense that he had taken us as far as he could, but ended up with Huddersfield as the best option. Did well there, effectively a mid-table finish after their horrendous start, but I think it ended up being about a move up a level more than about the Club because Huddersfield weren't, and seemingly still aren't, a particularly stable one.

Our two ex managers that stepped up to Championship clubs lasted 6 games and 11 games in charge respectively. It’s a crazy league.

I think this does highlight the point that while I get why some say take the opportunity for me you’ve still got to be careful in which club you choose. DC last year did an interview in the Times I think it was and touched on why he didn’t go to Leeds under Cellino and he pretty much said under him he’d have just ended up another Dave Hockaday and would have made the same decision again.

For me it becomes harder if you think your current club have reached the height of what they can achieve. With Plymouth in terms of potential I would argue they’ve not yet scratched the surface.

The issue Plymouth seem to have is their location isn't a big pull for players when faced with other options, that could hold them back.

I think for Argyle the WBA job offer is probably the wrong time, transfer window gone (Jan is a poor window anyway usually) and has to turn it around and deliver this season.

If it was March, they look outside the race and came in for him then it would probably be more tempting knowing he has a couple of months to access then the chance to back himself to build a squad in the summer, and let’s face it WBA are a club that are capable of taking him to the Premier League, Plymouth aren’t likely. So the timing probably doesn’t make it attractive at this stage as you’re saddled for the season with a squad you probably don’t want. You’d only really go for the money at this stage.

At the moment he is probably better trying to achieve a promotion with Argyle. The only issue is if the wheels come off and like MK/Oxford then you’ve missed the boat.

It’s a gamble either way I guess!

We went all Newcastle/Pardew and gave our manager a five year deal the day before the Play Off final so guess we are covered financially if DC had an offer at some point.

Well that puts the rumours of Schuey leaving to bed.

Says he loves the city, really happy with the job, loves working here, got a brilliant job here in trying to get us to the Championship. Says he’s in no rush to go anywhere.

Says he doesn’t wanna clarify every time he’s the bookies favourite for a job as he’s already said how much he enjoys it here, but it’s nice to get recognition for the work him and his staff are doing.

Schueys at the wheel!

I hope that you are right, but I have a nagging doubt. Has Schuey actually said he did not speak with WBA?

He did say Tuesday night that there has been no contact from his side, and then has said that this evening, so I assume not.

The same one who was at Chesterfield when they went to non-league? I know he’d be stepping into a different situation at Exeter but that track record would set alarm bells ringing for me.

Gary Caldwell is set to be Exeter City's new manager.
His name has come out of nowhere but it’s only paper talk.

Darren Ferguson has become bookies favourite this afternoon but not convinced he’d come here. Got a great record in L1 and 2 but he’s been well financed in his other roles.

Re Caldwell, didn’t he win promotion with Wigan and then turn to utter shit? Not keen.

I think your last sentance is the important one. Completely different challenge manipulating a smaller budget to remain competitive rather than having plenty of money to burn.

Is he the one who went to Hibs and won the Scottish cup but then flopped at Rotherham?

Didn’t he like spend over a million quid in January to get Wigan up? Sure they signed Wildschut and Morsy to turn them around (ironically a few days before they played and battered us!)

MK don't seem to be turning it around. Drop to bottom of the league. Long left for Manning?

And Ryan Colclough. That was a great transfer window. Happy days!

He was unlucky to get sacked at our place. David Sharpe's on record that it was his biggest mistake as chairman. Having said that, I think it was probably more the fact that we replaced him with Warren Fucking Joyce that made the decision look so bad! Plus the players we had weren't good enough to survive, whoever was in charge. Bogdan, Perkins, Grigg, Buxton, MacDonald etc. Christ we were shite!

I dont think so but who knows with Winkie. We got rid of Tisdale for doing better but then life is cheaper in league 2 and I really think the owners regard MK Dons as nothing special. The stadium (our owners) earn more from the fuvking snooker, hotels and concerts.
