Without sounding like a twat here, do 'some' Forest Green fans not recognise how small their club is for the Football League?

Some of the names mentioned on their forum and on Twitter has made me laugh out aloud.
Dean Smith
Sam Allardyce
Neil Warnock
Chris Wilder
Sean Dyche

They don't have a chance with any of those. Laughable that they've even been suggested. I don't think even the Cowley's would go to Forest Green. You'll most likely end of another shit manager on the managerial merry-go-round. Reckon it'll be Leam Richardson myself.

Sadly fully agree.

Yeah I think like most clubs we have a few deluded fans. Most of us aren’t expecting any of those names though tbf.

Under Vince we’ve done the appoint an inexperienced up and coming coach approach (Edwards), the experienced merry-go-round type (Cooper) and the somewhere in between that (Pennock/Burchnall).

The early favourite with the bookies is Duncan Ferguson, but personally I think we’d be better off going with experience at this level.

Well, Artell has fallen at the final hurdle with us. He’d be a good fit.

I think Manning will be in with a shout myself.

I know that Franchise got fucked by losing Twine, and also their key loan players, but I think it’s hardly to Manning’s credit that he took that team into a relegation struggle with (I’m guessing) better players than he’d have to work with at FGR.

In days (long) gone by, this job would have just gone to Ian Atkins or Martin Allen and you’d be done with it.

I would suspect that FGR will fart about with “young, progressive” managers at their peril here.

But I feel like Mr. Vince and his entourage like to be a bit “different”, sometimes that’s a good thing, others not so much.

Get that back line shored up, and scrap for the wins.

Contract till the end of the season for some wizened old lower league veteran, then go from there.

Garner/Artell or Tisdale would be more FGR suited surely with their football style.

Yeah, I mean we’ve recruited a lot of pretty lightweight footballing types, so unless we want to ditch that and go on a last minute signing spree of big physical types then it would certainly make sense, in the medium term at least, to go for one of them.

Honestly any of Garner, Artell, Tisdale, Richardson, Appleton, Manning etc would all be a vast improvement on Burchnall I’m sure. Can’t really get this wrong, can we.

Reckon Vince pulled the trigger just in time to stop the fans turning on him...which usually happens at any club where the manager is unpopular and the team are struggling.

I would be quite happy if Tisdale was our next manager, but not sure too many will agree with me, was impressed with what he did with Team Bath and Exeter.

Manning seems the perfect fit with the director of football set up they've got there.

Well, if you want ineffectual pretty football and no clean sheets continuity, it seems that Oxford fans would love to offer you Karl Robinson, judging from their forum.

Agreed that 1-0 grindball is hard to play if you haven’t got the squad to do it though.

I don’t think anyone wants ineffective pretty football to be fair. The idea is it’s effective passing football especially as we are trying to be a club that develops young players and sells them on, which we have done fairly well over recent years.

Right now I’d take grindball if it meant us at least getting a few results though. Even if we go down I’d like us to make a fist of it.

Does anyone seriously think Ferguson would be happy working for a control freak?

Cowley and FGR doesn't seem the right fit to me just based on what they've gone for with the last couple of appointments.

My guess is the best fit for Cowley would be more your mid-ranking L1 club such as for arguments sake Oxford if that was to come vacant. Only picked them off the top of my head as Robinson seems like he has been skating on thin ice for most of the season.
That fat cxxt isn't on ice....it'd crack

Every time we wear that kit we play like shit tbf. Much prefer our black & white away kit from last season, or our blue and black third kit.

Nothing to do with misogyny btw, just think that the colour is hideous.

We had a pink kit last season, whilst i wasn't keen on it it wasn't something I'd call "pansy"

Barry,
Do have a look-see on FGR away matches and even you will agree it is 'PANSY' pink.
And I bet a dollar -to-a-dime that even your own Sheffield Wednesday supporters have in the past taken the piss out of the opposition if they wore PINK at Hillsborough.
And I'm sure they are not all homophobic.

Pretty much all I think of with that kit is that it looks like a tiger came off worst in a battle with a highlighter pen (although I suppose you could say the same about their first choice kit too).
