I feel it would be more satisfying for Hartlepool to win it since they've been pretty solidly mediocre all season. Don't think there's been any time since the first game when there's been any doubt that Hartlepool would finish mid table. Never looked much like being involved at either end. Rules is rules though, congrats to Leyton Orient, a team who have managed to be involved, albeit marginally, in both promotion and relegation battles this season.

A lot had Sutton and pools down. Sutton actually started the season pretty poorly, think it was hammering us that set them on the path to possible promotion. Seemed pretty clear though very early on that Hartlepool werent gonna bother themselves with anything so exciting as departing this division at either end.

If I remember rightly I think it was your pre season that convinced many that you would struggle.

Yeah it was a lesson in how not to have a pre season. Lose key players, sign the dross left, squad having no recuperation, some awful friendly results. Honestly mind, there was no real danger under Challinor.

We were winless and bottom after 4 games at the end of August, however we had won our prior 2 home games against Stevenage and Hartlepool by the time Carlisle visited the Lane at the end of September with us being solidly mid table at that point.

I’m just going to place myself here and make myself comfortable to enjoy these dizzy heights for the remainder of the season :woo:
