I know. I know you really want to play us next season but we've got to go.

These last few posts sum MK Dons up as a football club.

I'm fucking heart broken to be relegated yet their fans don't care.

Yes they do, but most of us know we'll be back. So maybe the wrist-slitting isn't as widespread as you'd expect.

You started with around three thousand fans too. We had a few hundred Wombles and a couple of thousand curious onlookers most weeks for those first couple of years at the NHS. None of us made massive financial pledges to ensure the club could run and we had no money to pay our players ten times what they would earn at another club in the same league

Given the start in life you had and the comparative p riches available to you its almost funny how you actually failed to get promotion in a couple of those seasons. "It only took 9 years". You should really have done it in six!

If it was really quite so easy then why didn't you do it lol?

Did I say it was good? I said it was well above average, which it is.

Will do, dad.
It's not above average....it's exactly what it is. Keep cuddling your MK pals.

There's about 5 teams in League One who would have a higher home average than them. It's nothing to do with "cuddling my MK pals" it's just a fact. Coventry, United, Bradford, Barnsley and Millwall.

Quite simple really. There were never 3,000 people in MK prepared to watch that level of football. That's no different to any similarly sized town in England. Our equivalent to where you started would have been Newport Pagnell (not actually in MK, so tricky to try to galvanise any support from MK for starters) or Wolverton in the United Counties. Don't say "what about MK City?" as that was a a name adopted by a Mercedes Benz works team by that stage, nothing to do with the original MK City that went to the wall a good few years before. We would really have had to go from a standing start in terms of trying to attract fans for a team they had no affinity with. 3,000 people weren't going to suddenly start following Newport or Wolverton.

Barnsley and Millwall are similar to ours from 2014/15.

We gained 2,000 new S/T holders this season. 1,200 of them have already renewed for next year. We'll be average 10K next season, and probably a fair bit more if we do OK.

£10 charity bet you don't average more than 10k home fans.

Well are we doing this season or next season? If it's this then add Wigan and its 6. If it's next then add Bolton (maybe, who knows what their attendances will be like next year) and Charlton. Not gonna add Pompey considering they haven't gone up.

Coventry averaged sub-10k last year, don't know what it's been like this season as they were half decent at the start of the season but if they have another shit season I wouldn't mind betting MK have a higher home average than them next year.

Yeah, to prevent it coming up again in future I'll put a restriction on fans of tinpot WABLO clubs accounts such as Sheffield United and Coventry to not allow them access to visit this sub-section

I couldn't believe the Blades have been down there for 6 years, a very big club for that level. There must have been some serious mistakes made for them to be down there that long. With the mismanagement at Coventry, I can understand it but not Sheffield United. What on earth has happened to them?

5 years isn't it? They went down with us. Next season will be their sixth.

Our average attendences if I remember rightly were only a few more or less (I can't remember which way) than Coventry's were, bearing in mind that we have at least 1200 more season tickets than we started 14/15 with and we go by tickets sold not turnstile clicks then our average attendances should be in the 10k range, varying because of away support

Your attendances are more misleading than most because whilst every club counts all season ticket holders as attending, you have a large number of free season tickets.

Yes we do have a large number of free season tickets, because because we have a large number of under 12 season ticket holders. We have a very successful offer that I've seen a few clubs do meaning that in our case, under 12's get a free season ticket if they are young dons members. That's not a crime that we are encouraging young children to come to live football games.
