Blimey I remember him, we signed him from Merstham a few years back. Showed some ability but it never really worked out before he went back there and started scoring again. Maybe your style of play will suit him better than ours did.

Fair enough, was going to say that he had a spell at Maidstone. Has scored a decent amount of goals for Merstham, 26 in 2014/15. Pleased we're looking lower down the league's for players, even if we only really noticed him because he played against us.

We've now signed Charlie Penny from Dulwich Hamlet. Scored 24 goals on loan at Merstham last season. Any good?

Another striker with good pedigree and history of being really good for this level but did precious little for us last season. Seems to be a theme with us and the yearly striker search

We had him on loan for the last month of the 2013-14 season and will always be fondly remembered here as he scored the goal which won us the league title. Quick off the mark and very astute with his runs however he's not the tallest and incredibly slight too, I'm assuming he's bulked up since. Hope he makes the step up but I can't see it happening.

K's ladies team, which went unbeaten in the league & won a cup or two in the 2015/16 season (their first ever season no less!) have been moved up from the Surrey County League at the 9th level of women's football to the Greater London League Division One which according to Wikipedia is a 7th level division... meaning that not only have they seemingly skipped a level but they are now as far away from the top level in their pyramid as the mens team are!

Charlie really impressed at Merstham and scored 20+ goals in half season so he can't be at all bad! I'm not sure he was fully fit when he was with us at the start of last season. I am quite worried that we don't seem to have any strikers signed up for the season ahead, though Jacob Erskine might yet resign for us. Not sure he's the ideal striker for us though. Maybe Gavin's going to play with all 11 behind the ball and see if we can manage 46 0-0 draws in the league!

Well, I've just heard we've lost Ethan Pinnock, who's been signed on a 2-year contract by Forest Green Rovers. Superb player, great attitude and huge loss for Dulwich. I'm slightly surprised he's not gone to league club as I understood there were at least 4 interested in him.

OK! So here's how our squad's shaping up for 2016/17. So far we've only retained 3 (YES 3!) players from last season!!!! 3 very good players mind you! Hopefully a few more will stay and I'm led to believe that some of the youth players will be promoted. Some good signings here, but also some significant losses and a real dearth of strikers! Great to have Michael Chambers back as he learned his trade at Dulwich before Crystal Palace signed him a few years back; I'm sure he'll get back into the pro game at some point in the future.

Confirmed for 2016/17 - newcomers in red:
Ashley Carew
Michael Chambers (Welling United)
Nyren Clunis
Sandy Cunningham (Stirling Albion)
Preston Edwards (Ebbsfleet United)
Nathan Green (Margate)
Ibrahim Kargbo (Welling United)
Roman Michael-Percil
Sanchez Ming (unattached)
Alfred Mugabo (Enfield Town)
Marc Weatherstone (Wingate & Finchley)

Contract offers pending:
Rhys Murrell-Williamson

Unconfirmed:
Kenny Beaney
Oshane Brown
Matt Drage
Jacob Erskine
Josh Fernandes
Jordan Hibbert
Jamie Mascoll
Osei Sankofa
Lawrence Yiga

Confirmed departures:
Jordan Brown (Welling United)
Kristian Campbell (Merstham)
Jack Dixon
Ryan Moss (Kingstonian)
Mitchell Nelson (Welling United)
Charlie Penny (Woking)
Ethan Pinnock (Forest Green Rovers)
Damian Scannell (Tonbridge Angels)
Gus Sow
Danny Waldren (Welling United)
Phil Wilson (Merstham)

Daniel Carr returns to Dulwich Hamlet. I only started following after he left for Huddersfield, so didnt see his season here.

Yeeeeeessssssssss!!!!!! Get in there!!!!! There's our 30+ goal-a-season striker!!!! Great player, very fast and strong and came up through the Dulwich youth system so he knows how we play and he'll fit in beautifully! I'm well chuffed!

Yeah... I think it's a brilliant idea *IN THEORY* to be community/supporter owned & if we pull it off right might just be the galvanising rebirth our team desperately could do with.

However, *IN PRACTISE* our board have forgotten the most important part of a community owned football club in this process: the community. I'm sure they have their reasons as to why the community they want to run the club has been left in the dark but until those reasons are also known it kind of just adds to the 'WTF is going on here?!!' feeling we all have.

Absolutely!!!
Dulwich are also working towards becoming a fans owned club, though thankfully we're already huge part of our community; we actually won the Football Foundation Community Club of the Year award for last season. We're also now waiting for the outcome of our planning application for our new ground. If it fails we may be in the same or possibly worse situation than yourselves.

You can always come shack up with us in Chessington, it's not like we're from there either :2thumb:

Yay fixtures are out!

*looks through fixture list*

Oh look we have Met Police at home on August Bank holiday... we're away on Non League Day again & our festive games are against Merstham.

Fucking Ryman League... do they not know who we are? We're the damn Turvey Super Shield champions! We should be given preferential treatment of fixtures AND start off with 20 points on the table.

What! That's not fair! You'd have change of making the play-offs if you got a 20 point start! ;)

How do you know you're away on 3rd September (non-league day)? The draw for 1st Qualifying round which is played on that day hasn't been made yet!

Is it 3rd September? Thought it was the last Saturday in August. Fair enough... I'll be satisfied with a 10 point start then.

Well. This thread needed bumping back to page one again... but with some factual posting.

Tomorrow evening marks the official beginning of the 2016/17 Isthmian League season with the prestigious showpiece event that pits the lucky fuckers who got out of this hell hole against the Turvey Super Shield victors in a winner takes all game for the probably rediculoudly sponsor titled Isthmian Charity Shield.

Hampton & Richmond Borough v Kingstonian.

Sends shivers down ones spine just thinking about it.

Well, pre-season is over and the action starts for real on Saturday! If anyone still reads this forum, how do you think will your team will do?

Dulwich have had decent pre-season with some entertaining games against Norwich City, Palace and Millwall XI's with over 2,000 at the Palace game. We look strong again and I expect us to be right up there. We signed Gavin Tomlin, a regular first teamer at Crawley Town over the past 2 seasons the other week and he looks very good. Lots of other new players, some from higher leaves some coming up from our academy, so it'll be interesting to see how they gel in the early weeks.

Havant and Waterlooville are 7/2 favourites! They've had great pre-season and look to be strong. I think we're a good bet at 15/2; can't see us messing up again this year. Tonbridge will be dangerous and I fancy Dulwich Old Boys aka Merstham as a good outside bet.

It'll be a whole world of adventures... (I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist).

Maybe it's just paying more attention to it, but there seem to be quite a few clubs staring down the barrel of some pretty poor ground situations this year.

Yup. But the likes of Hayes & Maidstone give us hope that we will pull through our wilderness years. Hopefully won't take as long as Maidstone for us to have our own ground again though (although if you it count since Wombles obtained ownership of Kingsmeadow we are definitely coming close)!

Hendon went home after a short time away too, so there are some good examples where it takes less time. At least around London you have all the Isthmian teams to provide potential short term homes in bad times. Up in Northamptonshire we're looking pretty short of options without spending significant sums of money - that we don't have.

Forgot Hendon have also moved back home now... to a London Borough that takes a dim view on sports facilities no less.

It's here... The season is finally here! Tomorrow K's kick off away at newly promoted Harlow Town. I've got a feeling we may start the season a bit slowly so my prediction here is going to be a 1-all tie.

We very almost went bust (again) before coming home and Hayes certainly had some issues too but we pulled through. Just hope you have some clear direction before the inevitable as you'll no doubt haemorrhage cash/support the longer you're away from home.

So opening day weekend chaps. How'd it go? Just had a peek around the South division to see a few familiar names on the Hastings scoreboard. Jay May should tear it up at that level over the course of his month long loan.
