Japan go into this game knowing a win guarantees them progression to the last 16. They'll fancy their chances against a poor Poland side that are heading home. A draw would also probably be enough too, so their task is simple.

Agreed, but they were monitoring the other game, and saw that Senegal were struggling to create even one single decent goal scoring opportunity. Still a massive risk mind you, but bear in mind they were playing Poland, a side that can excels at punishing their opponents on the break.
