Quitting Chelsea at the end of the season.

Will he retire from football altogether or move on elsewhere?

He'll either retire or retire (season or two in the US).

WIll almost definetely be heading to the MLS to join up with Lampard, Gerrard etc. Been a good servant to Chelsea and the Premier League, proper old school defender, one of the best defenders to play consistently in the last 10-15 years.

Another one who will no doubt chase the cash abroad rather than drop down the leagues and help a smaller club out.

Do QPR still take on these types?

Is that the last remnants of the 'golden generation' gone then, barring Rooney?

He'll almost certainly end up at New York.

Perhaps he could join a lower league team with a higher than average ratio of black players and help them out. After that he could retire properly shortly after taking out a four-page paid advertisement in every national paper sporting the headline "John Terry: He's not a racist after all".

Thank god we are finally rid of this prick. I'll forever remember him for the racial abuse, the extra marital affair, the penalty miss against Man U and the CL Semi final sending off. A horrible disgusting human being. Yeah sure, great defender in his pomp, always gave his all for the England team, but my god, what an utter toss rag he is. He'll be back in English football before too long unfortunately.

He's not quitting Chelsea, to be precise, said he would have liked to stay. But Chelsea have made the right call, time for them to move on.

According to Opta, the CBs with at least 200 apps with the best clean sheet percentage in the Premier League era:
Tony Adams 45,1%
Nemanja Vidic 45%
John Terry 44,4%
Gary Pallister 39,8%
Sami Hyypiä 39,3%

I think we should ignore the players on that list with under 39.8% clean sheet rates, they simply aren't in the same discussion as those monsters above them.

The guy has history with Chelsea and despite some unfavorable things about him the passion for the club he showed all this time is admirable.

He probably will end up in MLS.

Give back to the game that has made him a multi-millionaire.
Do you need to play in a lower league in order to do that? Do you need to be on a pensioners wages in order to be 'giving something to the game'?

Any way, I'm not too surprised. There was talk of him not having his contract renewed after his incredible last season, so it was bound to after a few questionable performances this term. He'll do well in the MLS (I'm going to assume that's where he's going), old school defender with a good work rate and decent natural fitness. The MLS will get a couple of good seasons out of the bloke.

A bit of an odd one, this. Perhaps this is the end but I get the impression he might be trying to force the club's hand - he's not seemingly been outright refused a new deal but the club don't look to have been forthcoming with an offer so he's venting his frustration publicly. To my mind, it makes absolutely no sense not to retain him for another year - from a purely footballing perspective he's easily good enough but he also offers leadership and experience, qualities this squad looks sorely in need of (with the likes of Cech, Lampard and Drogba all having departed he's pretty much all that remains of the spine of a very successful Chelsea side). Who knows what the club hierarchy is thinking... difficult to tell these days.

It's bollocks. The club have already said they haven't ruled out offering him a new contract, it just isn't on the table right now. He's just attempting to speed things up which isn't unreasonable.
