Sheff United Statement

The Club has learned that one of its players, Jose Baxter, was found to have traces of a banned substance in his sample following a routine Football Association out of competition drug test. The player has informed the Club that he engaged in no wrongdoing involving any banned substance.

Established policy in these circumstances requires that the Club temporarily suspend the player pending further findings. The Club has taken this step without prejudice to the player's claim of no wrongdoing. The Club will offer no further comment at this stage

Jose Baxter and Jake Livermore. Something going on between them then?

I'm more bothered by the grammatical trainwreck that statement is.

We have to try and weed out these people from the game.

Coming out in the press that a Wolves player has failed one too. Surely gotta be a cock up with a new system or something.

Or a new test that is finding ways of detecting drugs others couldn't?

Didn't he get caught with Drugs and Fake Money on him when he was Everton?

What an absolute idiot - no sympathy with bellends like him.

Absolutely gifted with footballing ability - and completely throws it away.

What I'd give to be earning a living from playing football - and then you see idiots like him throwing everything away.

Sickening.

I must also add to potentially stop myself looking stupid - if found guilty.

But, seeing as Jose Baxter has previously been involved with illegal substances, I wouldn't bet against it.

Yeah. Must be something up with the testing. Athletes taking drugs of any kind is almost inconceivable.

Just surprised there hasn't been more performance enhancing shit uncovered. Oh well, I guess if tennis can keep evading it then football can.

Automatic 2 year ban isn't it? Shame because I like him as a player - not big or clever.

Dont think its as long as that. Paddy kennys ban was about 8 months i think. Still cant understand why taking charlie or pills results in a ban from football it hardly enhances your performance does it. Hes been shit anyway good excuse to get him off the very high wage bill

As much as it sounds daft I agree with that. I know there's a responsibility to act professional with lots of impressionable young kids watching the game but still, they're footballers not criminals. Allowed a private life.
