He'll win the lot if they back him with £300mil like they did for B-Rod. Hoping he can get the best out of Firmino personally, I'll be fucked off if Klopp/Liverpool ruin him by persisting with sticking him out wide to accomodate the inferior Coutinho. One of my favourite players to watch over the last few years.

There's nothing like a new manager that the supporters rally behind to breath new life into a side.

Slightly surprised Klopp seemingly jumped at the job without hesitation (although we don't know what talks went on behind closed doors) but can certainly understand the attraction of a "fixer upper" job, which with no disrespect meant is kind of what needs doing.

With time and money, no reason he can't do good things there.

It's also going to be really, really weird having a manager the media unanimously absolutely adores, and who fans of other clubs actually like too!

Yup, said that the other day on this very thread. I've gotten so used to our managers being universally ridiculed and, in some cases, outright hated, it's going to be a bit strange having one who is (for the moment at least) pretty much universally respected and admired. Apart from by johnnytodd of course, but Jurgen will be aware of that and will be making an extra special effort to win him over.

He'll win the lot if they back him with £300mil like they did for B-Rod.

That would require players to be sold to the tune of nearly £160m.

I only look here, brother!

Some people will only focus on the negatives, perhaps throwing in a small praise more akin to a platitude. This happens for most transfers and managerial appointments. It always will.

I just thought your outburst was a little bizarre as 95% of people on here have praised the move, even if begrudgingly.

There are fewer people on here than in other places, so it's nice to be able to vent on another place with a greater character limit. But you should also note the timing of my post, and who posted before Pags...

An important question needs to be answered here, and I notice it's yet to be addressed.

Is it going to be J-Klo, J-Lopp or the full J-Klopp?

i suspect he'll be smart enough to sell off about half of your squad at the first opportunity, but even so, i'm not getting the point you're trying to make here?

if he's given £300mil to spend on players he wants, like brendan was, he'll succeed rather than going backwards.

I'm simply pointing out that the £300m constantly being bandied around doesn't account for the loss of quality offered by the likes of Suarez and Sterling. However, I'm aware of the point you're making and I agree with it. If Klopp is allowed to sell the players he doesn't believe can be used (even if it's at a loss) and is allowed to spend that money and more, we will move forward. Which is more than we ever did with the £125m made from the aforementioned players under Rodgers.

Shouldn't you be able to assemble a top 4 side with £300mill from scratch though? Maybe not.

If he can just have Sturridge fit for any decent amount of time you've got a chance of scaring the top 4, but I don't think you'll take it. 5th with promise would be a good start for Klopp though. He can make a statement in the cups.

Klopp is a decent manager but it's going to be hilarious when even he can't get Liverpool going. No top 4 finish IMO during his short stint as Liverpool manager.
That's toddles level of drabness that post. Try harder.

For the vast majority of neutrals it would be great to see Liverpool competing again consistently and would make the top of the league battles slightly more exciting than it has been over the last decade or two.

I think the Premier league losing one of those Champions league spots will make things interesting enough thanks.

Need another couple of shit years for English clubs before that happens, I believe. Klopp is here to save us!

If you think 'neutrals' want to see Liverpool do well, you are sadly mistaken.

I'm just sayin' mate, it seems to me the "vast majority of neutrals" have been more than happy watching Liverpool implode under FSG.

I second this notion.

In England there are no neutral fans towards Liverpool, just glory hunters and bitters.

This. Sell Coutinho while his stocks high, put Firmino as a number 10 and watch him flourish for club and country.

Annoying Klopp has gone to Pool as I really like him as a manager and I don't want to like Liverpool...
