Welcome back, I like Bristol.

How will your stadium look next year?

Ground will have one new stand and one revamped stand. Will be 3 sided though as another stand is being demolished in the summer and rebuilt during next season.

We're not back here yet fellas. Let's not get too cocky eh? ;)
By the way, the Gate will look like the picture / link below in 12 months. Hopefully, we will be up here to see it finished and be able to welcome you all to the new Ashton Gate.

I'm definitely still pissed haha

In all seriousness, in the position we are in, we should be back here next season. But this is North End, we will find a way to fuck it up.

Can't see you or Bristol City throwing it away now.MK Dons to win the playoffs?

I want to see that Bristol City fan who stands on a shed to watch home games behind the construction site.

You'll most likely find him in the stands now. His 'Shed End' is being covered by the current building of our New South Stand.

Great whilst it lasted and will be remembered for the press coverage and memories he's given us lot. Seems a great bloke and has given much to charity, including that of young Oskar. I believe he paid £25 per game (ticket price) for every 'free' attendance in his shed end. Money going to Oskar's fund. Same again when the Shedman received a free season ticket from our club.

Think our board could learn a thing or two from Bristol City's approach over the past couple of seasons. Have pulled out all the financial stops to ensure promotion this season, a big gamble but they've done it with good business savvy: buying up promising proven L1 talent rather than splurging ageing pros looking for one last big payday.

That was pretty much our underlying reason for relegation from the Championship.

I think we've got a decent mix at the moment, the main thing is that we're not handing out lengthy contracts anymore.

Only two players in the first 11 on Saturday over the age of 30 (Gally and Welsh) with 4 players under the age of 22.

Either way, it's too early to be thinking we're getting promoted.

Wrong!!
The fee received for Sammy Baldock more than covered any fees paid out. We also lost the last of the 'big' earners from the Championship overspend and are running with a very small, talented squad. I'm certainly not saying our budget is small but it's deffo not the biggest in L1, not even close!

£2m odd quid probably went some way to paying the transfer and signing-on fees, but let's not pretend that your revenue will offset your expenditure come the end of the financial year. Bristol City came down with a £20m wagebill not two years ago. That you didn't sell off every remaining asset and sign a bunch of cloggers is testament to your chairman's dedication and passion for the club -- something that I respect, admire and, like I said, something I'd like to see our own chairman emulate -- but your success is down to financial flex. Let's not beat around the bush. Something that is afforded to you when you're a reasonably-sized club at this level, but not something that is afforded to most clubs in similar positions -- especially not clubs who are also funding a major stadium reconstruction. No-one can begrudge you your success, but let's not kid ourselves.

Your research is very good Jockney, fair play to you.
I'm certainly not saying we don't have substantial financial backing, a £45M ground redevelopment says we do but, we are certainly cutting our cloth a lot better since we went down and I would imagine that would continue with a slight loosening of the purse strings without the extravagant overspending which we did previously.
No City fan would be so crass as to deny that we aren't extremely lucky to have our owner at the helm and the financial 'flex' that brings.

We could win every game and we still wouldn't close the gap I reckon, how many wins do you need to guarantee automatic promotion?

What's the away allocation likely to be next year at the improved 'Gate'

Not too sure TBH.

With 3 stands this year, the capacity has been around 12-13k. Away fans have shared a stand and been restricted to around 1100.

Next season will again be 3 stands, as when the current build is finished we are knocking down another stand, again to be rebuilt. I believe the capacity next season will be around £16k.

When all work is finished (season 2016/17) away fans will be given the whole Atyeo stand (approx. 4500), but I'm not sure whether that is the case next season, or whether the stand will again be shared. I'm sure other City fans may have a bit more info.
