Or Gills v Col U.

I hate playing this lot. I can't recall ever seeing us beat them, and their forwards all seem to decide to have a stormer when we play them (Clinton Morrison anyone?). We've already lost to them once this season (naturally), so the cynic inside me is just ready for another loss.

All that said, we're good this year.

3-1 Gills.

This. Which is made all the more galling as they're tinpot permashite perennially punching above their weight. They always seem to beat us when we're doing well too.

Massively annoyed the Mrs by arranging to go to this one, she told me I couldn't go on Boxing Day (which I didn't) but has now changed her tune and reckons that agreement covers the whole Christmas period. Wrong.

Is Williamson likely to be recalled Gills fans?

I dunno about recalled, but likely to return at the end of his loan spell as we need cover up front with Cody Mac injured. What have you lot made of him?

McDonald is out for a few months, and Samuel is only here for another week or so leaving us with Donnelly and Norris who are returning from injury up front. Hopefully we'll keep Samuel and add another on loan, Williamson really isn't good enough to trouble League One defences.

Sorry when I say recalled, I meant likely to have him back with you come Jan 3rd.

He's done well but I can see why he doesn't trouble the defenders in League One in terms of goals. His pace is something we have lacked and helped stretch the game in crucial times.

He's worked well with Corr and no doubt we wanted to keep him until the end of the season but I guess that won't happen if you only have 2 strikers on your books once your loan players go back which is a big shame for us.

Well we only have 2 (3 if Samuel's loan gets extended) but with it being the transfer window I'd be stunned if we didn't make a few additions, and up front is one of the areas we are potentially a bit weaker. Could easily see Williamson stay with you all season and us bringing in a permanent signing up top.

Williamson is not good enough for league one, hopefully we'll sign another striker and you guys can keep him.

As for the game we should win but being a gills fan I take nothing for granted and expect Gillingham to make it hard work

Having had two excellent results on the road, it would be typical Gillingham to lose, especially to bloody Colchester.

This is a nailed-on, dead-set, certainty for an away win.

A comfortable one :(

Quite a close game I thought with both teams having a fair few chances. Delighted with the win, obviously, but what about that strike from John Egan?! Must have been 40 yaess out, if that'd gone in it would have been the best goal I'd seen live without a doubt.

Quite impressed with Col U, too, but what a pair of centre backs... Elokobi made some ridiculous decisions and the guy next to him looked like he'd eaten the whole Christmas turkey over the festive period, and probably his gran too... How is he a pro-footballer?

By all accounts another reasonable showing over Christmas and yet nothing to show for it again. Could easily have had 4/6 points this weekend but nothing, which can't be good - we're absolutely doomed.

Oh well, at least we're not conceding three to four goals every game any more. Small steps and all that. Today is a club record-equalling ninth successive league defeat. If that becomes 10 at Oldham on Saturday then you may as well relegate us now.

TBF I thought Col Ewe looked decent, hassled and harried us, stopped us playing with any rhythm. Great poacher's goal from Samuel, Egan with a ripsnorter, the bar is still shaking. Mark of a good side though, play badly and win.

Colchester surprised me, made plenty of chances and hassled us for every ball. In truth a draw would have probably been a fair result and apart from a few wonder saves from Nelson they well could have got it.

As for Egan, what an amazing strike that was, worth the entrance fee on its own despite us not scoring from it.

Three wins in a row and a maximum points haul over Christmas, absolutely chuffed with that.

Egan seems to like a long ranger, he scored this belter for us at Scunthorpe.

A poor performance by gills but job done, Colchester certainly didn't play like a bottom 4 side

Very poor performance but got the win. Nelson won us the points in honesty as we never really got going. Good performances from Egan, Jackson and Morris but other than that very lethargic. Dack had his worst game of the season and was correctly subbed. Loft and Norris made big impacts off the bench which was great, and in fact the second half was a big improvement. That effort from Egan was frankly ridiculous, but it just shows the quality of the man. Delighted with the whole of 2015, from the gang of four through to Edinburgh. One of the best calendar years that this club has ever had in my opinion.

And apparently we have scored more goals than any other team in all 4 divs in 2015 and more away goals as well.
Amazing seeing as we are usually shoite on the road :)

disclaimer - I'm taking this 4th hand off our forums so might be rubbish (but think its true)
