Last night we had our AGM where shareholders found out we made a £260,000 loss last year. The club has also said the our main benefactors Kath and Ernie Lane will continue to help pay the wages for the club for the remainder of the season. This will include the outstanding wages that weren't paid last month which will be paid in full by the end of this week. Next season we will remain full time but will be playing on a much reduced budget. The club is still trying to attract new investors and directors.

Also another fans forum is being arranged where the chairman and directors will actually attend, rather than leave everything to Whild, Creighton and Gowling.

That's most of the bad news. The good news is the board finally seem to realise that the club needs to cut expenses and they want the club to become self sustainable. I gather that the Lane's won't be investing so heavily after this season so we're bound to have a big clear out in the summer. Josh O'Keefe anyone?

We're staying full time for next season, I have my doubts it'll continue beyond that, it'll most likely be a transitional season.

I think we'll probably drop to our natural level (sort of Alty level - lower-mid table) for the next few years. If there is still a club and we're still in this league in 10 years, I'll be a happy man.

Where did the £260,000 go? This is the same season as Lolley was sold and the cup match at Sunderland correct?

No idea apparently the shareholders accepted it without comment according to the Shuttle, but money would have been spent on the pitch work, Thorn and his assistant, Burr, Fowler and Ladapo. But the Sunderland match didn't generate as much profit as we would have liked as we were charged £70,000 for policing and stewarding. The Joe Lolley money was also paid in installments and not all at once with the last part being paid late January I think
Surprised your going to stay Full Time.

I'm as surprised as you, fully expected to be a part time team next season

Apparently only a third of the Lolley money was paid up front, with another third 6 months on and the final instalment 12 months on, so only the first one counted towards last years accounts.

Seems a strange way to account for the sale.

The asset has been fully disposed of, so unless there was a doubt over the money being paid, I would have thought that all the income would be booked in the year of sale and the unpaid element showing as a debtor on the balance sheet.

Genuine question, sacking Burr was a huge big mistake right? You missed out on promotion by a whisker as well as the fact he can get his teams playing as a unit in a small budget: Ala Chester.

Was the huge mistake (especially as his last result was a 0-0 draw with Peterborough) and it took everyone by surprise. But our loss was easily Chester's gain. He has a way of picking people up from the lower leagues and developing them to go on and play at a higher level.

We've been very blessed with managers since we reformed. From Steps 4 up to 2 we had Neil Young, who is still waiting for his next appointment, then Burr. If we can keep most of this squad together I can see us being in the top third next season.

Surprised how happy a lot of you are with Burr.

Seems to have done a reasonable job but not exactly pulled up any trees. Couldn't save you last season and brought in a lot of players this season. Great job at Kidderminster but a bit underwhelmed with what he's done with yourselves - especially with the obvious potential you've got - debt free and decent fan base.

A final point on Steve Burr.... Chris Iwelumo :ffs::dk:

From a relegation place to 10th is pretty good going, he came in too late to really make enough of an impact last season. With Conference North in mind he brought in the likes of Charnock, McConville and Hobson who nobody probably would have thought capable of performing at this level still, yet he's getting the best out of them. He's assembling quite a young squad who could flourish given a bit of time, they're doing well enough as it is now.

We had another fans forum last night and the major points that were raised were;

We'd apparently worked out a compensation deal with FGR when Burr went to speak to them.
Apparently Steve Burr had lost the dressing room when he was sacked and senior players had asked him to leave.
Steve Burr then tweeted this "You can fool all of the people some of the time , but you can't fool all of the people all of the time . #factnotfiction"

They then talked about Andy Thorn and how Serrell presented him and the board accepted him. Which the directors were grilled over and they admitted they made a mistake.

Our Chairman then blamed Jamille Matt over his nationality issues saying he provided a fake NI number.
Jamille Matt responded with this tweet "People will always lie to cover their own back...one thing that doesn't change is the truth...can't believe what I just read"

We're apparently spending 1 and half times MORE than our budget. Which the board apologised for.
Gary Whild then said that we were forced into selling Johnson after he rejected a contract, Oxford had met a clause in Dunkley's contract and Bristol Rovers offer for Blissett was too good to turn down.
Earlier in the season the Lanes had walked from the club but this was apparently because they had mis read the financial situation this was then explained better and the Lanes accepted it.
Our new Vice Chairman addressed the room saying that he was passionate about the club and wants to move on from the mistakes the board have made.

Ken Rae will rely on Gary Whild to find players on the reduced budget. And said the goal is for Whild to work within the budget over the summer and if extra money comes in then that money can be used in Jan. He also said Whild has found hidden gems before and he can do that again and the aim for next season in to survive.

Thanks to the Bristol Rovers fans our players and staff have finally been paid March. It worries me what will happen throughout April, May and June with no major source of income from fans (Only Barnet and Worcester in the county cup at home left) to pay for wages

To add to that Gary Whild has said unless there is a more of a guarantee from the board about the budget for next season and a guarantee that next season wages will be paid on time he may not stay after this season

Interesting. Ruffinato leaving was inevitable. We're no longer using his company as a kit manufacturer, which allegedly was a drain on resources anyway and he publicly blamed the fans for the clubs demise a few weeks ago.

Does this settle the differences between the Lanes and the board, paving the way for them to stay? Could actually be positive!

Best wishes to all at KHFC - Won't forget the help you gave us during the crap the past few months.
Gotta arrange a pre-season friendly, surely?
Could be a re-opening for Edgar Street to make a day of it?

I'm seeing this as potentially good news, a couple of the more questionable directors off the board.

It is staggering that you guys have lost so much money, what with the Cup run and player sales in the last few years.
I postulate that something a bit more dodgy has gone on behind the scenes.

All sounds a bit like us, when we sold Manset for £400k, and were still in the creek financially.

Whatever happens, I am fairly sure that all in the HUFC Supporters Trust will help you guys out as much as possible.
