Being a fan means being biased - even if the actual truth is biting you on the arse!

exactly, personally I'm outraged that people are even discussing this. Clearly all our players are going to win hands down.

Madden is the only one that could be considered for us, he has 15 goals from the wing which is pretty good.

Not really. I would class myself a fan, doesn't mean I need to make a c*** out of myself by being one-eyed all the time about my team.
I think most fans are only too aware of their team's pros and cons.

They just don't like fans of other clubs pointing them out!

For me -

Martin

Byrne
Flint
Clarke
Bryan

Gallagher
Luongo
Alli (although not good against us this season)
Freeman

Williams
Grigg

Only think players that have played the majority of the season will make it personally.

Tried to make a team based on stats and a little bit of knowledge as it's hard to do it any other way.

David Martin (Most clean sheets)

Nathan Byrne (2nd most assists)
Aden Flint (Highest goals scored for a CB and good defensive record)
Kyle McFadzean (Highest clean sheets)
Joe Bryan (one of the highest assists and good defensive record)

Matt Done (Most goals scored from wing and high number of assists)
Luke Freeman (Most assists)
Conor Hourhaine (High goals scored and assists for a CM)
Jonathan Forte (2nd highest goal scoring winger)

Andy Williams (Top goal scorer)
Joe Garner (2nd top scorer for a striker)

Does McFadzean have more clean sheets than Clarke? we have the best defence in the division as it stands.

Huntington has also scored more than Aden Flint.

Are you counting cup games? because Flint has more league goals.

The site I used said David Martin had the most clean sheets in the division, you have had different goalkeepers though which I totally forgot about. Flint has more league goals though.

I was looking on the scorers list on the BBC but think I read it as him having 4, just seen he has 6.

I think Huntington has 5 in the league and 3 in the cup.

Think we have 16 clean sheets in the league and 23 overall.

Don't know how many MK Dons have so you could be right.

I believe MK have 18 in the league, Martin with 14 and McLoughlin with 4.

I stand corrected then, I expected Bristol City to have kept more than them tbh.

Not sure how many we have, we struggled to keep clean sheets at the beginning of the season.. But been a lot more solid in that department the last few months. We can't be to far behind you 2

Fielding has 12 and I think he's played every game for you this season, correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah just checked myself and fielding has 13, and he has indeed been our only keeper.. So 13 is obviously our total so far this season, a fair bit behind MK!

Three City, Three Swindon, Two MK, Two Preston, One Sheff Utd. A fair reflection.

Surely that should be " One Sheffield United who also did pretty well for Rochdale". :)

Do like that team though - won't be far off the final selection.

Can we have a tally of 'likes' dished out?

Bradshaw is our only real option - Goals per game has to be up there. I wonder what he would have done with a full season.

O'Donnell has kepts a fair few clean sheets I suppose.

Done Freeman Alli Baker
Garner Williams

I went for a mix of statistics, what I've seen personally and the individual impact the players have had on their team. Garner, Done and Carl Baker I think all deserve a place on merit of their impact on their side. Preston have been a side reborn with Garner since he returned from injury, Matt Done is starting to look like Sheffield United's equivalent of Paddy Madden in the season Yeovil went up who has changed their season round single-handedly. Likewise while we've had attention-grabbing players like Alli and Afobe this season it's easy to overlook just how significant Carl Baker's contribution to our form has been. I doubt we'd be as good as we have been without him and he's single-handled carried several matches for us.

Don't really need to explain the rest though, case has already been put forward or I'd go with the statistics on players like Martin, Byrne, Flint and Williams.

Surprised by how many people have said Laird tbh. I am not his biggest fan as I think he is beaten to easily quite a bit but you can't argue with his attacking qualities and he has been outstanding the last couple of months.

Laird is back to his best, or close to it at the moment, I think his defensive frailties are a bit of a myth myself. I think people lazily label him a bit dodgy because he likes to bomb on, he's no less steady than Buchanan but twice as good going forward. Even if someone does get in behind him, he's usually got a good recovery tackle on him.

His distribution from defensive positions is a bit frustrating though, annoyingly spoons it out of play too much for my liking.

I'd have chosen the whole back four as Preston defenders, but you just can't overlook some of the others in the league like Byrne and Flint. Thought from what I've seen of it this season PNE have the best defensive line-up in the league, even when we were in top form in December we really struggled to break through that back four at Deepdale.
