I read this morning that former Bristol Rovers managers Garner and Tisdale are taking legal action against Joey Barton for some of the comments he has made against them.

There are 2 schools of thought for what Barton has done here.

1. Take the 'shine' off the players and let them focus on the playing side while he deals with the negative press.
2. Completely screw up the focus of the playing staff with unneccessary unwanted press attention on an already low in confidence set of players.

I could end up with egg on my face if Rovers survive the season, but i'd be pretty unhappy the way Joey Barton has come into the club and disrupted what should be a complete focus on a relegation fight. If Swindon are to survive, I would personally want Rovers in league 1 next season as well so have proper derby games in front of large crowds. It is not looking likely at the moment.

New land registry searches were made today for our training ground amongst other buildings by the same US led consortium that was rumoured to be taking over last month.

Appears the deal would be similar to the initial reported £30m with Evans effectively writing off the £100m debt amassed by his director loans - with a clause stating it would only become payable if we reach the Premier League within X amount of years (lol).

Imps v MK Dons game on Friday is postponed due to Covid in the Imps camp.

Begs the question, why did we play against Oxford last Friday? MA mentioned that a number of players were struggling with symptoms but tested negative. Could see this happening following that game.

Potentially good news for Wigan.

Hopefully all works out for them.

And the morons on the MK site reckon we are pulling a fast one and wanted the game postponed because of our bad form! Or rather the truth and some of our players and staff have got the virus, no wonder some people hate MK!

I think the general hatred for Franchise stems from something completely different.

We have one free Tuesday left, so we could do with Charlton going ahead although if it gives us extra time to get some players back fit...

As said, I doubt the Oxford game would've happened if it wasn't for Sky. From what was said this end, the Club were keen to play and do the right thing and play but in this instance is sounds like there's been a further spread.

So what's the difference in your covid cases now against what it was when you played Oxford? I wonder if you'll have a miraculous recovery/player availability ready for Charlton and that goes ahead? Stop being so salty about our fanbase, if the boot was on the other foot and we were doing the same with you, I can just imagine the uproar, f'ing franchise and all that.

You love us really...
To be honest there was never a massive amount of 'hatred' from me. I do ultimately disagree with what happened around the 'franchising' of the club and thankfully it hasn't happened since then. The discussion has been done to death so not going to get into the weeds of it again as I am sure everyone is done with it.

I have to say that the MK fans on here in general have been very decent and given they have to take more shit probably than any other fanbase always come across very well IMO.

Be amazed if we play again much before the 17th
How bad is the Covid impact then? It's things like this that will put the EFL's season finish dates to the test.

I believe when we played Oxford we had two confirmed cases who had tested positive and were isolating one on the day before the game, the other at the start of that week. Others - staff and players were displaying symptoms but tested negative, the game live on Sky went ahead. Another round of tests happened on Monday of this week where more were found to be positive hence the postponement.

I imagine the Charlton game will also be postponed, the only thing I can think of that 1 player will return from isolation which may mean we have the numbers to play. We've often had 4 or 5 on the bench throughout the season. We've played weakened since January so it's not about hiding, it's about trying to stop the Covid spread amongst the team and their families, it games have to be postponed so be it.

A big difference.

Adam Jackson tested positive last Monday after having symptoms and stayed away from the group. Callum Morton then showed symptoms and tested positive before the Oxford game. More players started showing symptoms on match day (which was why we didn't use Oxford's changing rooms) but they tested negative after an extra match day round of testing.

Since then, they've all been tested again and we have additional positives amongst players and staff.

In theory, Jackson and Morton will be available for Charlton because they'll have had their 10 day isolation period already having already missed Oxford.

It's difficult to pull the wool over people's eyes when the testing and results are monitored by the EFL. You can't magic these things up to suit as and when! Worth pointing out that when we had four Covid cases earlier in the season we played on. We also played on at AFCW around Xmas. We also played on at Oxford last week.

What’s going wrong in your club protocols to keep having positive cases though?

I don't think anything has been "wrong" as the club do things right.

Mirrors communities, one person infected asymptomatically and has passed it around the group in between testing.

I think it was having to play the Oxford game which has worsened it, MA prior to the game said it had been a tough week due to covid and that players were playing with symptoms but had tested negative. With the game live on Sky, I wouldn't be surprised if there was additional pressure to play the game.

According to the EFL, nothing. When they do their inspections they've had nothing but good to say about the training ground and match day protocols we have but you'll never catch everything that's coming in from homes.

We've only had two clusters. Anderson picked it up at Xmas and a group of four players and Appleton developed symptoms a few days later as well. Then the run-up to the Oxford game last week where it was Jackson and Morton, and now more with symptoms.

So with Marquis 3 match ban upheld. We are now strikerless for the next 3 matches. Harrison out for rest of the season, Hiwula out for 6 weeks. We have 1 19 year old who has played 1 efl trophy match and no other senior football. Interesting how we will line up. Curtis is the most natural forward out of our midfielders as he's played there back in ireland. He been away with the Rep of Ireland so has only had 1 training session with the Cowleys and is likely to only have one more before Fridays match albeit a slightly less high intensity the day before the match.

That's a bit harsh when from the outside looking in it's a convenient time for you to have a break, reassess and get some injured players back.

I doubt anyone seriously thinks you're making covid cases up but looking at it emotionally from our point of view, we had a very good chance of beating you on Friday given current form and injury list.

Maybe play a 5 a side? About manage that!
Of our injured players Hopper won't be back this season , doubtful Grant and Walsh will be either and the fact Bridcutt keeps breaking down I doubt he will either. Only Sanders is to play much in the 9 games left. Some of our players who caught it first time round have never been the same. Think pretty much any team in this division will beat us the current state we're in, shame after the way we played in the first 25 or so games.

We've struggled massively with injuries for the past 2/3 months. For the past 5 years we've been run properly with integrity, there is absolutely no way we are using the covid card as an excuse. Unfortunately, a number of players and staff have covid, let's hope everyone's well come the re-arranged fixture.
