We've been there and done that plenty of times. If this doesn't happen, we won't have a ground at all.

I doubt that there has ever been a better site proposed before with Oxford Parkway next door, P&R car parks also, or nearby, so good for public transport and parking which won't all converge on one site. The County Council are onboard as they've agreed to lease the site to the club.

Thats the difference when you have a one team city, the council can find you land. We have to pay for it

The Graham Westley Under The Cosh episode was very entertaining, intended on watching 20 minutes and ended up watching the full 1hr 40m, as it is very Preston-heavy. I left it quite liking the guy.

He wants back in the game.

Mind you Oxford do have another club in their city on the rise.

Don't know what we'll end up paying but it has to be better than what Oxon CC currently get which is £500 per annum.

And Oxford City Council helped them with it. That site was one we tried to get back in the day iirc.

Bullshit. Our city is run by the university and they’ve given us the grand total of fuck all in our history.

I quite enjoyed that, you can see he's definently a bit mad.

Can see why he's marmite among players.

Mmm. When our old town centre ground was subject to a compulsory purchase order to expand the local hospital, they ended up begrudgingly giving us the most out-of-the-way bit of land they could find, way less convenient to get to and of course with crap access to get in and out.

Except when we were groundsharing with the ruggerbuggers, they loved them.

If only that were the case - our own council have given us the square root of sweet FA.

I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned a ground share with Oxford City if this new one goes tits up. Don’t they have a bit of money? Or am I thinking someone else? I know they’re in the NL now, so must be doing something right

No they live within their means and are very careful with money. They nearly went bust because of a shyster American who I think is now in prison in the US for fraud. One of the senior management team at the club sadly hung himself just after it came to light iirc. It took them a while to rebuild afterwards.

Court Place Farm would only be very temporary as it isn't big enough and it doesn't have the space to expand sufficiently. I think it can make the FL minimum but not much more.

If nothing else, that William Storey bloke looks like he might be able to cast a spell to stop Reading losing?

He’s an absolute charlatan. Martin Calladine has done some excellent research into the bloke. Absolute disaster for Reading if he takes over.

Predictable really.

Shame for the teams who might rely on such replays but the big boys get what they want.

I thought Klopp wanted replays..

We are just a pawn in the Premier Leagues big game.

I understand why the EFL have decided this should be replayed, but it doesn't seem fair to me - conditions are entirely different.

Lincoln have a new coach and have found some form, we have players who were suspended who can now play, and players who started against Lincoln who are now injured - so it's not going to be the same game.

Should be playing the final 6 minutes plus injury time behind closed doors - the 84 minutes of football that we played (and were winning) suddenly don't count?

Lincoln will obviously win the re-arranged fixture despite deserving nothing from the original game. Pretty poor overall.

It is a tricky one and has to have a sensitivity around it, possibly the easiest way would have been to finish the game behind closed doors the next morning for instance.

Lincoln may let you walk it in for a 1-0 lead at least, I was with friends at Forest v Leicester when Clive Clarke had a heart attack and went the replayed game when they let Forest have a 1-0 lead from kick off.

Its the same as all games where this happens, you can't suddenly change it just because you were winning.

Seems fair to me, cheap admission and profits going to charity.

It’s harsh, the bulk of the game had been played. They should have just played the remaining minutes, behind closed doors if need be, rather than “expunging” the score from history.

You obviously know a lot more about these new guys than me, but I have seen several 'chancers' at our place bid to buy our club by massively engaging with the fans prior to purchase. When push came to shove, on each occasion they didn't really have sufficient funds and tried to use the fan-power they had generated as a leverage against the existing owner to try and get the club on the cheap and save the owner the difficulty of facing a fans revolt. Neither chancer ever got the club in the end.

Hope this bunch are the real deal for you though.

We've had plenty of them ourselves - a curry waiter, a pizza salesman, a 'billionaire'... the list goes on. We may be setting ourselves up for failure, but these guys feel different. Their business acumen checks out, their community record across the pond is impeccable. They've spent the last 6 or 7 months around the club, and they just don't seem the type to be playing games. It seems they've come to some kind of arrangement over the debt which has played a huge part in holding us back, and the deal is now in the hands of the EFL.

My only worry is that it feels too good to be true...
