We have virtually zero pace in the final third. Unless we sign at least one pacy left winger (or two) we won't secure automatic promotion. We don't have the supply to breakdown teams down in this way, that will be our undoing.

Play-offs are most certainly a realistic proposition, however.

It's a poor league again and I get the feeling there's a real sense of optimism around your club. It's a bold prediction but then who had Wycombe getting promoted last season?

Well, who knows? Someone has to be the dark horses I suppose. The optimism comes from the new stadium mainly so that will no doubt help in general confidence on the pitch but the new bunch of players do seem to have something about them. Down to earth tomorrow though probably after a spanking by Northampton.

We've got a 8 man deep injury crisis before the first game even kicks off, so I don't think you could have got a much easier start to be honest. Don't know any of Wimbledon's team other than Palmer, what should we be expecting today?

Don't expect Palmer - he's not fit yet. There'll be lots of midfield energy closing you down very quickly with overlapping wingbacks who would be dangerous if they could get the ball off the ground for crosses. Not much finishing quality, although Pigott does score regularly enough at this level and the new loanee from Brighton seems decent enough. Plus the traditional howler from one of the otherwise solid back three that may or may not give you a goal. We'll be quite dangerous from set pieces. I'm going for a 1-1.

Sounds very similar to how we play - press hard, win balls in the air, sit back and try to create from the wingbacks... have a feeling today might not be a classic.

Guessing this isn't in midfield as can't understand why Chris Lines isn't getting a look in at all?

It mostly up top and at the back that we're missing men, but even so Lines isn't really a favourite at the moment. Doesn't real fit with how we play - midfield's is bypassed a lot and mostly relied on to press the ball or cover the defense on the counter, and that really isn't his game.
