Not a bad word to say about Wagstaff, and I don't know anyone that has either. He's a top bloke, and a top player. Never stops running and comes up with the odd moment of quality as well, would have been a coup for any side in this division.

Good luck Waggers, hope he smashes it next season. Will get a great reception when he returns to AG.

There's going to be some competition for the midfield places next season.
By my reckoning we have:

Josh Wright
Jake Hessenthaler
Scott Wagsraff
Billy Knott
Mark Byrne
Aaron Morris
Emanuelle Osadebe
Lee Martin

Plus the youngsters Oldaker and List.

I haven't included Bradley as he is almost certain to be off.

Could be that JED sees Morris as more of a defender this season? Good options to have though.

Yes indeed, he was born in Maidstone and The Gills were the first team he went see as a kid.
This may have some bearing on his decision as I believe there were quite a few clubs after him.

Bear in mind, we only released him because he wanted more game time, City wanted him to stay but he chose to seek pastures new. He really is a very good player for L1. A real live wire in the dressing room as well.
Blinding signing for you.

Pete O'Rourke Twitter:

Sheffield United have agreed a fee with Brentford for highly-rated centre-back Jack O'Connell. #sufc #twitterblades #brentfordfc

Don't know much about him. Kilgallons car has been at Bramall Lane again today. Assume this would mean McFadzean isn't signing...seems to be doing the Hokey Cokey this transfer. Although apparently he's left-footed? So would still need a right-footed CB which would be McFadz? We'll go from 0 CBs to 4/5 in no time at all

If you get him, do you still think you'll go for McFadz or do you think signing this fella is you lot moving on?

No idea. But if he's left footed then i would think we'd still be in for a right-footed starter. We now have one CB in James Wilson (who I'm quite confident is not seen as first choice) so still room for JO'C plus another

Probably been mentioned somewhere but Gillingham have signed Scott Wagstaff. Great bit of business. His last 2 clubs in this league have been promoted with an average of 100 pts, just saying Gills fans ;)

That's exactly my point - if. If he doesn't he'll be worth fuck all. When he went back on loan to Hartlepool he scored 1 in 20.

God knows what he would have done if he hadn't settled! Started scoring OGs?

Even when he had his 'golden' spell he only scored 1 in 5 - that equates to 9 a season, roughly. And you paid £750,000 for him?

Hartlepool played him on the wing if you looked in to it!

Wasn't 750k, no.

Must have missed that.

Fantastic signing for this league. No fee, and he's still young.

Someone that will run himself into the ground and can chip in with goals. Disappointed we didn't attempt to lure him back.

Said it in the other thread, brilliant signing for the Gills, even better when you consider he's a freebie.

Expect blood, sweat and tears from him.

Apologies, it was £500,000.

But surely if the only club where he made any impact at all played him on the wing, why would other clubs play him in another position.

Our twitter is suggesting we have 'big news' coming at 7pm. Of incoming transfers, we've been after a Premier League striker on loan (today suggestions that it could be Keshi Anderson of Palace) and we also need a defender. Obviously the big news we're all expecting is Dack to leave, so it could be that as well.

Or it could be something completely unrelated to transfers, in which case I apologise for this post.

Can't see anything on our Twitter mentioning 7pm, or am I being blind?

Something like 5 in 19 on loan at Woking last season. Tall, target man type.

Keshi Anderson is being chased by about half of league 1. He was reported as being someone we are targeting also.

Well we've just signed Premier League superstar Joe Quigley, so I doubt we'd go for Anderson as well.

Alan Knill says to expect a CB and left-sided midfielder to come in in the next 24 hours.

Suspect the CB is JO'C, only rumour on a left-sided midfielder is Fleck from the Coventry end. If that's true I'd be very happy with both!

Quigley scores plenty in our development side, a target man who also sets up others.

Honestly couldn't tell you whether he's ready to take L1 by storm or if he'll just be an option for you, he's not really been tested enough. For what it's worth, Woking raved about him.

Cheers for that Mark.
Wasn't he your young/academy player of the year in 2014/15?

Yeah he's highly thought of by our youth department. He needs to get some proper football outside of the reserve bubble. 6 months in L1 is about perfect I'd say, and I'm sure it could be extended if it went well.

Any rumour from Sheffield about John Fleck? My timelines full of depressed City fans who are convinced he's signing tomorrow.

Good luck playing Fleck LM :fl:

Not been the best start to the window for us, two underwhelming signings and losing one our better players from last season.

Not a whisper, it's all come from the Civentry end. All our fans are assuming he's the left-sided midfielder our assistant has said is signing in the next 24 hours though.

What kind of player is Fleck? The majority of our fans (myself included) would be very happy if he signed given that he was your player of the season but a couple are disappointed he is short and with a poor goal scoring record.

The inference is left of central midfield, not left-wing
