Think that's a wee bit harsh. Wright will be on peanuts for Sheffield Utd and a manager will need to have his own men in the club.

Sheff Utd fans saying he will be back up - not sure the other lads in the team will look to the subs bench for leadership, so might be expecting too much from him there.
Appleton said:
“But football moves on and we have brought two players in, Aaron Martin and Curtis Nelson, who are experienced players in the centre of defence. Jake and I sat down and talked about it, just as we did on so many things, and were both totally honest with each other. I said that I couldn’t guarantee him a starting place every week and I fully understand that Jake would be looking for that at this stage in his career.
If Wrighty is happy to warm the bench for the season like Clarke did last, at this stage in his career, then I am disappointed in him.

He was a great servant to the club on and off the field but we have improved and have 3 players ahead of him.

Franck Moussa signs a 1 year deal with an option for a second.

Surely that's a superb signing if he stays fit? It's only a couple of years ago he was regarded as one of the best players in the league?

Thoughts Southend, Coventry and Charlton fans?

Great signing if you keep him fit. Just need to look at his goals for us to see that. Better than players like Fleck.

That guy can play, yo. How come Walsall can make signings like that?

Sounds promising, let's hope we can get him and keep him fit.

I think we are going slightly different this year. Normally we start the season with 1 loan max and then pick another up during the season.

With the new rules that nobody can be recalled, we are probably going to get 4/5 in and offer slightly higher wages for contracted players.

Cuvelier, Oztumer, Moussa will ALL be costing more than Mantom/Sawyers/Demetriou etc.

Why bid more when his release clause is a £1.

Questions must be asked as to why such clause was initiated in the first place.

I think the bigger question is why has he only made 80 odd appearances in 13 years!!

And Steve Harper only made 150 league app for Newcastle during a 15 year spell.

What does that make him then, other than a back up keeper for an established club.

He was inconsistent for us but when he's on form he's easily one of the best players in this league, scored some unbelievable goals

So James Collins signs for Crawley on a three year deal. That will be why our talks did not work out. We do not give more than a one with an options deal.

I think there is a big difference between sitting on the bench for Newcastle in the Premier League to sitting on the bench for Chester, Forest, Millwall, Coventry and Blackpool.

Bizzare.

Lee Erwin from Leeds and Connor Ripley from Middlesbrough on season long loans.
We had Ripley a while ago, think he played one game against Hartlepool in the JPT and conceded 5 goals. To be fair the team played absolute gash so not really much he could do about it.

McCall and Parkinson have both got a habit of signing mediocre keepers. I can't remember the last time we had a decent one, other than Pickford who was a gamble loan from Sunderland. To be fair at least Parkinson constructed one of the finest defences in the league, to the point where even Ben Williams looked like a world beater, so he didn't really need a decent keeper.

Henderson and Loach were both good. Wonder whatever happened to Oscar Jansen.

He's still 'played' the majority of his career in the Premier League and Championship, though - picking up £10k a week with Birmingham in the process.

Listen, I'm not trying to big anyone up just because we're signing him - as Bantamigo has already pointed out, 3 members of our defence have played together for 4 years, accumulating 50+ clean sheets in the process. We could have the shitest goalkeeper in the country between the sticks and i's still wager us keeping more clean sheets than most in this league.

Possibly so. 10k per year at Birmingham, do you think he cares if he plays or not? Some players are wired differently.

He's instigating a move from Blackpool to Bradford - I call that ambition. ;)

Bizzare.

To be honest, I'd rather he was sold now than in the final week of August or on Transfer deadline day. Which is the way it will go IMO.

Club know they will get nothing for him in January, it's quite clear he's been offered but won't be signing a new contract and clubs won't press the issue until the final few days of the window when they panic buy. Club will be pushed into a corner and probably end up selling for £500k, small money, leaving us into the season with no funds to properly replace/no time to settle somebody new in.

Bradshaw will NOT be at the football club come September. It's best to cash in now OR, be prepared to lose him for compensation next summer.

Last I checked he was back in Denmark/Sweden, I was playing as his club on Fifa, but I cannot for the life of me remember which one it was............

Fleetwood have signed Dion Charles from AFC Fylde. And AFC Fylde aren't happy ha ha ha

http://www.afcfylde.co.uk/club-statement-dion-departs/

So basically, Fylde ballsed up and now they're getting stroppy? Surely if he wasn't registered then they could be in danger of recriminations from the league anyway? Unless his previous contract ran up until now I suppose...

Don't see why Fleetwood should ring them up and let them know about it though, that's just a silly thing to say!

Yep, they fucked up his new contract registration and signed one somehwere else... Now they aren't happy.

Surely, the FA send a confirmation back to the clubs?

Seen a pic of Fylde's new stand today on twitter, they look like Fleetwood mk II. No fans but plenty of money. They should be taking notes. I'm sure they've nicked enough players of their own.

The Dion Charles transfer follows on from few players going in same direction, then Fylde crying foul play.

They are trying to emulate Fleetwood and whos to say wont do it, but it will be a lot slower if they keep on with the shoddy admin and not ensuring their best players are on board, and importantly under contract.

Fylde have just gone full time pro and perhaps its dawning a handshake is not sufficient to secure your best players.

Any fellow Valiants got any inside information regarding the loan deals for the lads from Monaco. Are they still likely or is it turning into a bit of a dead duck?
