2 signings expected this week followed by 2 loan signings before Bradford according to Smurf. We'd look at Pope if available at end of August.

I can see this one having an element of truth TBH. KA isn't going to get much game time at our place so a move would be good for him.
He's a rare one TBH, nobody ever criticises him and his work rate is excellent, scores a few goals plus he comes across as a really good bloke. Unfortunately, for him, the Championship might be a little too much for him apart from as an impact sub. There is no way he will shift Kodjia from our 1st 11 so I can see him moving on. He's more than decent at L1 level and will certainly bag a fair few for Bradford if he moves there.
If he does go to you, I would wish him well.
I would guess at around £250K as a fee, maybe less.

I'd like us to be in for him at that price as well. Edinburgh has said he wants 'a striker who can stretch defences', so it would appear our business in that department isn't yet done.

He would only need to talk to Waggy to find out about Agard!
Ag's scored a fair few when we won L1 so would be sought after at this level I should think.

In addition, our local rag doesnt usually name-drop unless the deal is almost over the line.

Would surely cost us £300k+.
Can't see him being let go just yet, until we bring in a replacement. He's not going to get time, but if Kodjia gets injured early on the season, we only have Wilbraham and Agard to fall back upon. A striker is expected very soon, so could allow Agard to go.

As CU said, can't imagine the fee would be much more than £250k.

If/when he's made available, I imagine all the big fish in L1 would be interested, such is his goal scoring record in this division.

Maybe Waggers could put a word in like Little did with Tomlin to come here, who knows?

Did well for Rotherham at this level too. Would certainly be worth a punt.

Odd one assume for the future rated at Grays but not likely to make the Burton side... Nor ours ahead of our central midfielders I'd have thought!

Know as much about this guy as I do about the European imports but he was clearly highly rated when he moved to Burton, just too much of a step up for him following their promotion.

Assume that with a 1 year contract being handed out that we want to look over him for a season before committing to anything long term

Our local radio reporting it'll be complete in the next 24 hours. We went from laughable to embarrassing to acceptable rather fast.

Tbf it was your 3rd bid. It was all starting to get a bit boring.

Of courses was our third, I just don't imagine we suddenly increased it by a load such that there's a huge difference between embarrassing and acceptable.

Also, I very much doubt that the first (or even second) bid gets accepted very often in football. Of course a club is going to come in low initially. It's like when you're negotiating anything, you don't immediately go in with what you think is a fair offer, you go in asking for more than you expect knowing a 'meet in the middle' situation is always likely. Flitcroft to come out publically and say an offer is 'laughable' and that Clarke laugh it off is daft...especially as Clarke didn't play the next game as we'd apparently turned his head, not that laughable then!

As Firthy hinted at Bradford's local paper is awful, and they usually only put signings in if we've signed them, sometimes it's 2 days after we've actually signed them. A rumour from them is unheard of so it must have massive legs if it's being reported by them.

Fair enough. If there is any truth in it, I'm just surprised he's playing tonight.

The T&A is basically the official mouthpiece for the club so if they get people's hopes up and then it's a load of bollocks then they both get a load of stick. So they are very precious of what they put out. However this hasn't made them wrong in the past so who knows. Must admit it's weird he's playing if he's close to signing.

It's not exactly hard to turn Clarkes head now is it? D.F is full of bullshit wouldn't believe him if my life depended on it.

I would imagine we would want at least one in before letting Ag's go as we would be very light on strikers if he does leave. Bear in mind we lose Jonathan Kodjia to the ACON for 5 weeks in January. I'm sure we have a couple lined up so watch this space I guess.

Clarke is a good signing for United his strike record in League One is very impressive. Absolute dog shit at Championship level but I supppse they don't really need to worry about that.

If Sheff Utd fuck this season up with the side they have got they will never go up.
Clarke is great at this level is great, but as its his 19th club he won't stick around too long which is fine if they get promoted as he's not good enough for the Championship.
Hopefully we will come second though we need some quality through the door pretty dam quick, which Mowbray insists will happen this week.
