There's no noise - the chairman has stepped down to concentrate on his personal businesses, someone else will replace him. We don't have a sugar-daddy and he wasn't even close to a major shareholder. This isn't like a power struggle - the board is undamaged.

We've signed Owen Evans and Elliot Bonds so far, but we never needed a big overhaul. The only players we've lost from last season were the loanees or squad fodder. The only loanee I'd definitely want back is Callum Wright and there's talk of that happening.

As for Will Boyle, doubling his wages may get him, but as I said, I don't see him leaving.

Charlie Colkett is a blast from the past. We had him on loan from Chelsea when we were in a relegation struggle and he was exactly what we didn't need. Huge talent and flicks and tricks but wouldn't put in the graft needed at that time.

I'm sure Wellens can get a tune out of him.

On paper it looks like you’ll have close to the biggest wage bill for sure. Have to be one of the favourites to go up this season.

Paul Warne has gone on record in the local press that it will have to be a lot more than the £600,000 offered to make us sell to another League 1 club.
He rightly says that Crooks should be going to a Championship club if he is leaving at all.
A million might persuade the chairman though because he will want to cover Northampton's sell on.
I'm surprised Middlesbrough haven't been in for him TBH, he is definitely a Warnock type of player and he would definitely improve any of the promoted clubs from last season.
He needs to be patient and he get a Championship club.

You are setting yourself up for quite a fall. League One is, just like last season, incredibly competitive. Love how the salary cap is just a foot note these days.

Indeed, will surely be going with Cooks tried and tested 4-2-3-1.

He never went with anything else when he was with us. Cook has a great eye for a player so Ipswich fans should be very excited with the signings this summer.

I suppose the only doubt is that Cook no longer has long-time no. 2 Leam Richardson with him. Will be very interesting to see if Ipswich and Wigan are battling it out at the top next season. At least he's replaced Richardson with Gary Roberts who's effectively been part of his coaching staff for a while anyway.

Morrell will almost certainly be available, his move here hasn’t worked and his comments when he linked up with Wales for euro 2020 made it seem like his relationship with Jones wasnt really great. Jones himself I thought made some rather thinly veiled comments about him just last week also.

Cowley likes Morrell. He signed him on loan here then tried to take him to Huddersfield in the January transfer window but he wanted to stay with us.

He'd be a very good signing in L1. Not quite worked for him at Luton for whatever reason but more than adequate at this level. Whether he'd want to drop down permanently to L1 I don't know.
