Tayo Edun to Charlton is an excellent signing. I'd love to have him back if we could afford it. Came in as a CM/LB but excelled in the latter. A progressive player who always looks to play a forward pass and he was incredibly comfortable on the ball. I am a little surprised that he didn't make the step up. Hopefully we get a little bit of £ as a sell on.

Terry Taylor also having a medical there according to Pete O’Rourke

They are looking strong. If they can keep it stable behind the scenes they have a real opportunity to get back to the Championship.

Sounds like he could be a decent Ben Whiteman replacement if he doesn't sign a new deal and we sell him in January.
I'd much prefer we sold him to a Championship club like yourselves than another League 1 club.

Our resident ITKer as said that we are interested in Kazeem Olaigbe from Southampton, assume it would be on loan. Had the best individual performance of any player at Sixfields last season, he was head and shoulders above everyone so would be absolutely delighted with that. Him and Simpson would certainly make me far more confident about survival.

We have three trialists on show at Grimsby, one is CB Jordan Willis and another is the excellently named ROI U21 winger Armstrong Oko-Flex (or to give him his full name, Armstrong Inya Echezolachuku Oko-Flex), who was on loan at Swansea last season from West Ham.

We've got former Peterborough, Bristol Rovers and Hearts right wing-back, Michael Smith, on trial this evening. Presumably as a potential backup to Liam Smith.

How strange as apparently Jordan Willis is on trial for us tonight against Stourbridge according to somebody on our forum. We also have Hayden Lindley (ex Aston Villa) on trial.

It's inevitable that we will lose our best player at some point but I'm not too bothered where Moxon goes just as long as we get way more for him than that piss take 250k Blackpool offered, how tinpot that was of them I'm actually embarrassed for Blackpool.

Who do they think we are?

You would find it difficult to even sign a best player of a conference team for that amount now and we're in L1!

Probably won't be the last, they spent about 18 months peppering Oxford with pitiful bids for that Brannagan.

Then when they finally had one accepted, Brannagan sacked them off after seeing their training ground.

I hope Blackpool do shit and get relegated now along with Wigan and Shrewsbury.

How is it tinpot to try and get a low price deal?

Engage your brain for a second and think about who our owners are and their track record for flogging players on the cheap. If I was running Blackpool or any interested club I’d test the waters with a derisory offer when dealing with CUFC.

Remember our chairman still think it’s 1974. 250k probably gets you Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham in his world. They probably had to intervene to stop him immediately accepting the bid.

We had Hayden Lindley on trial at the back end of last season and the first couple of weeks of pre-season. Wade didn't seem overly enamoured.

Someone else is now suggesting it was actually Nico Jones, young lad released from Brentford (previously at Oxford).

Blackpool did the same with us for Owen Dale but then the mardarse went on strike because they didn't meet our asking price of £1 million. He subsequently flopped on loan there and Blackpool still wormed their way out of a lower prearranged fee of £500K for his permanent transfer. I think we ended up accepting half of that as bridges were burnt and we didn't want to take it to tribunal.

Yet they wanted £4 million for Jerry Yates originally. Very funny.

Blackpool do this to everyone, just look at the above comments!

But yes our owners are old thick push overs when it comes to dealing with transfers and contracts, however we have Paul Simpson now and he is no nonsense and will tell any cheap skates like Blackpool to fuck off.

You’re SURELY not still cut up over Morgan Feeney joining a better squad on more money!?
Apparently we matched your offer financially. It was purely footballing reasons which I can kind of understand. Who knows how we’ll do this season, where as you log are well established in this league over numerous seasons and off the back of a top half finish last season. I get his decision to be honest even though I’d have preferred him moving to another league.

But the last time we played you, your then manager said you couldn't compete with the likes of Cheltenham?

To be fair, Alfie was sold on a cut-price deal, he's also 30 years old. That he was better than anything Carlisle could dream of having last season is irrelevant.

We've had Josh Martin on trial the last few weeks and he played last night against Dagenham and a week ago against Ebbsfleet, Wellens seemed to hint that there is a chance we will try and sign him.

Was on loan at Barnsley last season.

Was that Chris Beech by any chance?

He said that about any team every time we lost...

Yeah, it was after we drew 1-1 to get promoted. He meant financially, which was laughable given we have never been big spenders.

Why are people even entertaining carver? He’s sole purpose of being on this forum is to antagonise people into giving a reaction.

He'd been in all our pre-season games (minus the last one maybe), so assume that would be our interest in him gone if he's joined another squad.
