Signed right sided CB Jack Fitzwater on a 2 year deal. Was at Livingstone the last few seasons and seems to have done well there.

Ryan Woods was at our game today after he was told by Hull City that he could leave the club this week.

Probably the joint best midfielder I’ve ever seen in a Salop shirt along with Ben Godfrey. We sold Woods to Brentford for £1 million back in 2015. Honestly thought he would go on to play regularly at Premier League level at his current age (29) but for whatever reason that’s not happened. IF and it’s a big IF, we get Woods back then I reckon we could push towards the top 6. Even more so if Collins returns too.
Only seen Ryan Woods twice so far and he has looked class each time. Will be a big part of our season

Sooner they're relegated, the better.

More imaginary money.

Yanic Wildschut rumoured to be joining us. Played for Caldwell at Wigan so seems like an obvious link. Don’t think he did much at Oxford, despite his pedigree, but he’d be a good experienced option for us.

You have to hope he has rediscovered how to accelerate again and regained his top speed as he was a bit slow after his significant injury just after joining us last season. Seemed a decent bloke but even though he lost a fair bit of weight going into pre-season from last season, he was never in contention hence he 'mutually' agreed to leave.

Can only remember one good game (but that might be my memory) when he scored (his only goal) after playing as an emergency striker vs Ipswich.

He’s come in as 3rd choice, to allow Harry Lee to stay out on loan at Weston

Is he a striker or a winger? Hopefully the former.

Freddie Lawrie another of our youth players off to Villa for a club record fee for a schoolboy. Another success we are seeing from the academy under Flickers

He's a winger. Has played wing back too.

He played a couple of times as a striker and the rest as a winger. He was better as a striker but we signed him as a winger where he was ineffective. He could get away with his loss of speed/acceleration as a striker as he is still strong unlike as a winger as it was his main weapon. Unless of course he has found his pace he lost.

I suspect he may well get used through the middle more, assuming we sign him, of course. Caldwell likes players who can play in a few positions and the fact he’s managed him before, I can see this one happening.

Bag of footballs and a mars bar the fee? Shambles that these bigger clubs keep stealing our better academy players.

If he does, good luck to him as he seems a decent bloke and last season at ours was a mess so that won't have helped.

One of our Academy keepers signed for Everton with rumours of a fee of £200k.

We got 200k in the summer for one we sold to Newcastle so assume its bigger... just hoping there is incentives for the future such as sell on or something but don't know how that works.

Apparently its a British record for a School boy and is a "high six figure fee"

Alan Nixon reporting we are close to tying up a deal for Jesse Debrah who left Halifax this summer. Only seen him when there’s been any Conference games on BT/TNT where he did well and seemed to be linked with a lot of clubs earlier this summer but then nothing happened for whatever reason.

Centre half isn't he? Would rather we signed a left wing back!

That said if hes highly rated and its a low risk move why not.

He failed quite a few medicals by all accounts

It’d certainly be the most plausible reason. Suppose the good news is at least we do carry out medicals these days which wasn’t the case under the previous owner.

Sounds like he is now fit and obviously Barnsley have moved on so we've gone in with a L2 club and he is set to pick us.

Maybe, though given he won’t have had anything of a pre-season that will take time to build up to any sort of level, you certainly wouldn’t be throwing him out there against Northampton or anything like that. Worth taking on as a project to develop though.

Chuck him in with the Pizza Cup games and maybe a few late game apps to build him up I guess and a good option for later in the season, as we saw last season a couple of injuries at the back can see you spiral so another body would be good.

With Balmer and DJ back from injury and illness (great to see DJ recover quickly from being hospitalised) there would be no rush I guess.

ANOTHER player linked to us:

winger Josh Martin. Ex Norwich and was at Barnsley last season.

And Wildschut has started following the club’s official Instagram account, so that’s good as announced.

At this stage, we just need reinforcements in the attacking areas so both would be welcomed. They’re probably some way off full fitness so hopefully they can build that without getting crocked.

We had him on trial earlier in the summer. Binned him off very, very quickly in mysterious circumstances.

Rumours we could be announcing up to 4 people over the next week..

Josh Martin, Yanic Wildschut, Caleb Watts & Lewis Grabban have all been at training today according to the regular ITK person.
First three would be sensible, Grabban would be a brave but ballsy move. 35 years, fair share of injuries. Would tie us over till January at the very least. Would surely score goals too
