All very quiet for us in both outgoing and incoming fronts since the Saville signing. Would have hoped to see a few more solid runours of outgoings to be honest

One very faint link has been with Owen Dodgson who seems to be a LB/LWB at Burnley and has been on loan a few times at this level most recently Burton.

Know nothing about him but he’s 22 and yet still has 2 years remaining on his Burnley contract which seems a bit odd to me given clubs like that normally move on quickly from youth players if they aren’t in the first team by his age.

As mentioned by the Wycombe fan, thewwfc, we were rumoured to be in for Sonny Bradley. Just been announced on a 2 year deal at Sincil Bank. Will ease the loss of Paudie and a decent first summer signing IMO

Yeah really happy with that first move. Zane Okoro has also signed his first professional contract with us. Lots of Premier League interest, hopefully this will be his breakthrough season.

Assuming we'll lose Erhahon in the middle, still light at the back, so more moves to come. No idea when they are back for pre season

They have been in for pre season fitness and conditioning at the EPC before the official start on Monday.

They’re going to be throwing money around wildly all the way back up to the Championship. Pretty much nailed on to win L2 next season and will be top six in L1 in very short order thereafter.
They have the highest budget most seasons but are still there. Hard to get mercenaries to play their hearts out every week. See also Salford.

Our 5th and 6th signings confirmed yesterday.

Ibou Touray from Stockport
Stephen Humphrys from Barnsley.

Good to see we are now outbidding clubs for a change.

Pleased with our business so far.

Be good to see us raid Barnsley again and get Jack Shepherd, back who had a very good 12 month loan spell with us last season, and he really took to the club and fans apparently.

According to John Percy from the telegraph on twitter (usually quite accurate for us i would say) Carlton Morris is due to have a medical at Derby next week.

We will have to be in for a striker because Adebayo is out for 12 months with a knee injury

nah, as sad as it is, I can see the franchise getting to the championship in short order.

Warne is a very good manager (sadly) and if they are signing pretty much whoever the fuck they want (by lower league standards) then it’s only a matter of time.

All I ask is that we are in the same division as them for a minimum of time so that no young fans without any sense of perspective come to think that we have a genuine derby with them.

Join the club, we currently have none.

No idea what strikers are in the market really either. Langstaff maybe at Millwall? Didn’t work out for him last season. We had a bid rejected for Jatta in January but his form seemed to have really dropped off after that.

It’s not likely at all, but I wonder if there’s a way we could persuade Vakoun Bayo to join us on loan or something. Cleverley will know him, 10 goals for Watford last season, now back with Udinese

They will get promoted next season but i think they are a distance away from doing a Wrexham
The list of clubs buying whoever they want by lower league standards is growing year upon year.
Every chance Sheff Wed will be down here when the franchise get here with more than likely new owners
Another two basket cases from the championship could join them
Luton could still be here and have a strong team after re-building this season.....Cardiff and Plymouth likewise after both being bought out.....Huddersfield, Barnsley, Wigan and yourselves have Billionaire owners
Bolton i think may need yet another season in lge1 before they get it right......This league is getting harder to get out of year on year

Mullin to Wigan a done deal. Just waiting on the announcement.

Full season loan with Wigan paying 50% of wages.

Apparently set to sign Marko Marosi. Remember him being good at Shrewsbury but not really played much since leaving for whatever reason. Goalkeeper is a position we need competition for though.

Loathe as I am to post on this forum*, I have to agree. Useless for us on loan.

*The other place is thriving but the L1 section is sadly lacking.

Incidentally, I can't even read this forum on my computer so obviously the problems haven't been fixed.

I don't get why a few people here have kept this L1 section going on this site and didn't move over to the other forum when everyone else did.

The rest of this forum is dead, the people who run it look to have abandoned it, there are never any new members anymore and the technical problems still occur.

Yesterday was the first day of pre-season training for Luton. Very few pictures coming out from the club which I felt pretty unusual of only a handful of players arriving. Nothing on the socials about what they were up to and zero video. I do worry that there have been a considerable number of no shows.

Some rumours involving Luton...

Carlton Morris is expected to sign for Derby County this week. He is due for a medical as the two clubs agreed a fee over the weekend. I'd hope that fee is around £2.5M as it'll cost us at least that to replace him. He probably only has a year left on his contract. 12 months ago, he'd probably have been worth 10x that having scored double figures in the Prem. He was the stand-in captain last season but I was unimpressed and needed to be replaced in that role anyway.

Daiki Hashioka is due to join Slavia Prague also this week - again, no idea if there's a fee involved, but would assume so. Luton paid £1.7M for him in January 2024 and he's never settled or given a proper chance in his actual position. Will leave the club with probably the unique record of scoring more own goals than actual goals.

Teden Mengi is still interesting Burnley, but haven't heard anything more on that one in over a week now.

Luton, alongside Huddersfield and Stockport are interested in Nathan Lowe from Stoke. He's likely available on a permanent transfer now. Suspect that one will go on until August.

Alfie Doughty is interesting Middlesbrough alongside other high-end Championship clubs. I'd hope if we were to sell, we'd get in excess of £8M. Again, go back 12 months and he'd be worth 3x that.

Thomas Kaminski still has offers from Belgium and Greece. I kind of expected a deal to be done at this stage. I'd hope we'd get a fee of around £2M for him, but like Morris, probably only had a year to run on his deal.

Owen Dodgson is still on Luton's radar from Burnley. Perhaps there's some deal going on there with Mengi, but clearly we'd need more experience in that position if Doughty goes.

Surprised if we get a fee for Hashioka. Tbh id pay someone to take him, awful.

Apparently Lowe isnt available on a permanent but Loan only. In which case cant say im keen, Stoke have already shown they will happily recall him from an excellent situation at Walsall so even if he hits - we will be at risk of losing him. Need a proper permanent replacement for Morris imo especially with Adebayo injured.

Will you spend big this summer? Imagine you'd be in for Kone at Wycombe again. I also wonder if Birmingham will look to offload Alfie May.

Ted Cann a 24 year old goalkeeper from WBA has become our second signing.

He's 6 ft 7" so he won't have to jump very high, he will be Cam Dawson's rival for the No1 shirt.

Only another 6 needed and as it's the fan's forum on Thursday it would be nice to get a few in before then

Not sure how you'll define "spending big". This is my prediction / guesses in terms of where we'll be at, admittedly still 5.5 weeks before the season start:

-Luton will bring in around £45M in TV money this season.
-Our budget for the season will be around £30M, with around half on wages and bonuses. Roughly a 40% drop on last season. Clearly there is room for manevoure, but considering this is the last season of parachute payments, I think it would be wise to retain some cash.
-About £6M are probably fees on players already signed with installments due from last season or prior. I think we'll recoup around a quarter of that based on fees owed to us.
-I'm thinking Luton will spend another £5M on fees this summer, but bring in around £12M, with some payments deferred over-and-above into latter years.

Why wouldn't we get a fee for Hashioka? He's under contract and Luton are typically quite stingy when it comes to transfers out in recent years.

I'd hope we'd get around £1M for him. He's joining an Europa League side and he's a Japanese international.

I was thinking more like throwing £20m-£25m in fees, like Birmingham did. Surely you're in a position to do that with parachute payments and no FFP to worry about.

Mainly because he’s shit and shown himself to be shit.

We will likely get some fee for him so my comment was pretty much tongue in cheek but I’d honestly take nothing for him just to move on from the mistake to be quite honest. My comment about paying someone to take him is only half in jest because even if it’s a loan with us paying some wage contributions be fine with it. He’s that bad. One of the worst signings/per pound we have made imo. Useless player

Issues Luton have that Birmingham did not have is that Lutons gravy train runs out next May
They can win the league this season then what??
They will go from 45m in tv money this season to about 8 million if they get into the championship
Added to players they will have contracted beyond this season....They will be in all sorts of trouble financially.
They need to re-build and start again.
I will be surprised if they spend a 7 figure fee on any player

It's a niche forum and one I'll probably return to once life returns to normal. However it's no replacement for a proper L1 forum. The one I've referenced previously is definitely the best one and crying out for L1 supporters.

Look at recent articles from those in the know like Swiss Ramble the club is in very good financial health for the long term.

Club have already said we aren’t going to be spending massive sums so anyone expecting it will be disappointed
