No idea. Something tells me it won't be as much as Alli though.
I think it would be aggressive to think you'll get anywhere near £1.5M if it goes to a tribunal.

I would say around £400,000? He's only 17, he's never played above L1.

Looks like Huddersfield are signing Jack Whatmough from us. Too slow to be a regular in the Championship but he's not terrible, pretty solid in most aspects.

Seemed like he was a stand out CB at this level for Pompey & Wigan.
Nixon saying they want Brad Potts, too. I'd want a decent fee there, definitely around £750k.

He'd be a boss in this league if played at AM/RM.

That would be an absolute steal, he was supposedly interesting Prem clubs, still cant believe he stayed in L1. Do you think he will start for you?

Bloomfield has said that he believes he can have a first team impact sooner than later, but the midfield is heavily stacked.

He played in our first friendly yesterday and was involved in the build up to the first goal. Other than that, no outstanding moments.

Signed 23 year old Ryley Towler on a four year deal for an undisclosed fee from Portsmouth, someone we have allegedly been keeping an eye of for quite a while. Surplus to requirements at Fratton Park. Left footed 6 foot 4 CH. Pompey fans generally seem sad to see him go. So along with Sonny Bradley these two make the loss of Roughan and O’ Connor a lot less of a problem, we shall see but both good signings on paper.

Another gone, Ryan Woods decided he was homesick and has signed for 'Massive Club' Oldham.
Oh well.

Aaron Connolly signs on a two year deal. Undoubtedly talented but with well-publicised issues. Risky signing, but if anyone can get him back loving the game and making an impact it’s Richie Wellens.

Jordan Brown on his way to Blackpool for £400,000, so that’s another one we need to replace.

Confirmed. Imagine he'll be solid for them.

We've knocked back their approach for Brad Potts, but I'm sure if they offered us around a million we'd consider cashing in on a 31yr old.

Orient apparently after Tyreeq Bakinson. He's an OK player but we only really ever used him as squad backup, and probably never got the best out of him, so probably best for all concerned if he moves on.

A few Luton snippets...

Lucas Bergstrom is at Luton's training camp in Slovenia. He is a 6ft9in(!) goalkeeper, recently released by Chelsea. Wasn't out on loan last season; technically he was an UEFA Conference League winner, but never played for the club.

Nigel Lonwijk is also being linked - likely to be a Reece Burke replacement at centre back. I think he is still contracted to Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was most recently on loan at Huddersfield before a hamstring injury ended his season. Had decent numbers in L1 last season and sounds like they were upset to lose him to the treatment room.

Signed 3 players in one day

Nahki Wells, striker obviously

Nigel Longwijk centre half who Kenny mentions above

Hakeem Odoffin centre mid.

Surprised at Longwijk tbh as we have a lot of centre halves but I’d assume that Mengi and maybe others are leaving. Needed a striker but kind of hoped for someone a bit younger than Wells. Odoffin seems solid enough and perhaps a replacement for the unfortunately never the same again post injury Nakamba

I think the fact it’s 2 free agents and a loan kind of shows that those who think we will be splashing serious cash about are to be disappointed.

Odoffin's best games for us were at CB, he was our best player last season after taking 4 years to hold down a regular spot in the team.

The rumour here is that he was Wednesday bound before their latest embargoes, obviously he has had to take what he can get having refused a more than decent offer here.

I'm not sure he will play that much for you as a starter, he was our best player, other than Joe Powell, but in all honesty I doubt he's as good as the players you already have.

He's a good lad though, never complained when he wasn't in the team, no moaning when he was out injured, just got on with his job, I wish him well.

Some trends I've spotted - Bloomfield has often mentioned "leadership" in his quotes. From what I've seen, all the signings we've made so far (maybe with the exception of Richards because he's only 17) would be potential captain picks.

I think this will go a long way. Like it or not, our squad was already technically pretty good, but the attitude last season was awful. Looks like we're addressing that. I still think our budget will end up being in the high £20millions, if not over £30m.

The second trend - the height of these players. Potentially we're building a bit of team of giants - FIFTEEN (15) of our 28 man "senior" squad are 6ft or above. I expect set pieces once again will be a big factor in our season.

I actually think our squad is in pretty good shape now.

We still need a #1 goalkeeper. Lucas Bergstrom as I say is training with Luton with a view to sign a contract. Although I think we'd have signed him this morning if we were completely convinced by him. He's 6ft9in by the way...

I think in defence we're probably covered. I suspect we'll play a combination of 4-2-3-1 and 3-5-2 again. I think we still need backup for Alfie Doughty at LWB. Jamal Lewis has been mentioned, but will likely only come in if Alfie goes up a level.

Midfield is stacked now. Unless others leave, I suspect there isn't any room there. I'd expect Marvelous Nakamba to probably not survive the cull.

Fancy we may sign another striker to join Nakhi Wells. We have Adebayo long term injured, Brown is also missing pre-season and Nordas unproven in England. Nathan Lowe has been mentioned.

So your manager is literally Graham Westley?

Yeah, not that I’m suggesting this is some secret radical concept by any means, but Bloomfield cut his teeth as part of the managerial team under Ainsworth, who used to bang on about his “generals”, five or so senior players within the squad who were supposed to set an example within the group for the younger players. Maybe it’s the same thing.

We will be fine, just resigned Whitworth for the season.
Caldwell has said we will have a smaller squad anyway we had far too many midfielders last season. Probably get a few more in though.
We will do our usual 15th dinnae fret

Nope, but our manager spent a lot of his career working under Gareth Ainsworth. Not that we saw the worst of the Wycombe tactics last season. (Maybe that will change?)

Tyreeq Bakinson comes in from Wycombe for a small fee. Assume he’s going to kick people a lot. Seems like the PE teacher in Bucks didn’t fancy him, but I imagine he’ll be pretty vital for us.

I was pretty unimpressed to be honest, but he never really got a run in the side to establish himself either under Bloomfield or Dodds.

As far as kicking people a lot, no, not really from what I saw - and I think this was one of the problems - I mean sure, a player should play how the manager wants him to, so you can't necessarily blame Bakinson for this.

But he didn't seem to do any one particular role well, whether it was being a spoiler, creative midfield schemer, or box-to-box type.

He wasn't terrible though. And (unless it was just his agent) he seems to be our most in-demand unwanted player, with multiple clubs apparently having been interested.

All that got cut back considerably under Bloomfield (thankfully). For large points of Ainsworth's run with us, he had a considerably lower budget to work with than many clubs, so the dark arts were the leveller.

I could tolerate them to a point, but they got embarrassing sometimes (the diving, the feigned injuries, especially the regulation goalie cramp on 80 mins etc).

Stevenage sign Beryly Lubala (CF) and Jasper Pattenden (RB) from us.

Both decent players who should do well for them, and get more playing time for SFC than they would for us.

Wasn’t gutted to lose either, but they’re solid players at this level.

Seems we've held discussions with Tahith Chong at Luton. Financials might prove difficult though.

Not what you want to hear but dearly hope this will be true and I hope we accept a cut price to get it done. Whether wages will be an issue I’m not sure though.

He is the poster child of our poor recruitment over the last couple of years, a player who never fit any type of shape we wanted to play and consistently flattered to deceive

Looked great for Birmingham, I think he'd be good for us as a No. 10, rotating with Frokjaer.

The market is wild this summer so I think he's well worth a go if we can get him on the cheap.

I’d be disappointed to get less than £2M for him, but we seem to be letting players go for less than their value this summer so who knows. Like it or not, he was half decent in the PL by our standards.

Would probably want around £1M a year in wages too.

You could try it but we did and he doesn’t work centrally in my view. His good games at Birmingham (ironically his very best against us when they won 5-0) was as a left winger. His best move is knocking it past a fullback and beating them for pace, he’s too weak on the ball centrally and not skilful or a good enough passer to be a creative type 10. There was some stat floating around last season that in all the games he played for us he was yet to register an assist which is pretty appalling considering when he did play much of the creative expectation was placed on his role in the side

He’s an out and out winger in my view in the old school sense of get to the byline. He’s does a couple of things very well and the rest of his game is really pretty awful.
