I was referring to the comment above yours that said we’ve signed Jerome to replace Dapo. I meant we have signed 4 players since Dapo went that could all be considered replacements directly or indirectly. I should have worded it better.

I genuinely believe the squad has improved mate yeah. We haven’t moved on Bodvarsson, Iredale or Thomason they’re just injured? Bodvarsson is a miss but he hasn’t been available all season really and Thomason is back at end of Feb isn’t he? Nlundulu Jerome and Adeboyejo all better than Baka. I loved Dapo but I genuinely believe Shoretire is the real deal. He’ll definitely have a career in the premier league unless injuries prevent it… ability wise he’s unbelievable for his age. Dapo scored some important goals this season but his input is way down on last season because he’s just not as good when he doesn’t play left wing.

We need to replace Aimson and yeah left wing back is maybe a slight concern (I quite liked Beck). My major concern is if we sell Johnston to Stoke. That would be a huge blow and then I’d be more concerned. But so far I’m delighted.
Dont think we have seen the last incomings or outgoings so it will be a interesting last few days

Seems quite a lot of £££ to me, he’s having a decent season but I’m far from convinced he’s what you’ll need, I’m gonna guess he’ll be loaned back out before the start of next season whatever lge you’ll be in.

Think your other signings are pretty Bob on though.

KTF
I haven’t seen a lot of him but heard/seen some pretty good reviews. Always puts a shift in and holds the ball up well. He’ll get more chances in this team too than at Burton or playing on the wing at Barnsley.

Me either. Johnston we have to try to tie down for longer. Rumours we are in for Alfie Devine at spurs too as another number 8/10. Really highly rated. Haven’t seen any centre backs linked yet

And a bargain at that - he was brilliant for us. We are down now he has gone.
I want to like the first half of the post but feel harsh liking the second half of it. Is there a button for liking half a post? :dk:

Now sold Aimson who has been playing superbly, happy with the lad from Burton but overall still think it’s been a poor window , not at all impressed with the loan signings , we will see and hope i am proved wrong

Aimson is a decent enough signing for Exshitter if they keep him fit. Steady enough cb at this level for a bottom half at max side!

Not sure I've ever seen fans complain about signing three strikers before.

Not exactly true. He had injuries in his first season but then played 46 games for you in 20/21.
Not trying to be a knob because he’s signed for you, but I genuinely didn’t realise that! Probably because it was the covid season.

I’d probably consider him a lower League One centre back, he’ll do alright, played on the right of a 3 for us.

See if agree he’s a solid league one centre back… but he’s had a purple patch for 6/7 weeks after he got back in because Santos was ill. So some of our fans are having a mini melt down… 6-7 weeks ago some of them would have driven him to Exeter themselves and 12 months ago they were calling him Will Aimless. Nothing more fickle than a football fan. Even before the purple patch I thought he was a good solid defender especially in the middle of a back 3. When he played right or left of the 3 he wasn’t quite as effective but should be a good signing for Exeter to build in league 1 and probably improves them right now as a starter. If they have longer term championship aspirations he’d probably become more of a squad player like he was with us. Great character around the place though and a good pro.

enlighten me to the three we have signed..........I know Dapo, Bakayoko and Sadlier have gone....Bodvarrson out for the rest of the season left us 4 short not sure the 3 are a improvement...time will tell

Nlundulu, Jerome and Adeboyejo are the 3 strikers we’ve signed (all 3 better than Baka) …. Sadlier wasn’t a striker. He played there once…. He’s mainly played left wing back and mainly as a sub. He was an impact player… never really performed from the start. We brought in Randell Williams.

Dapo played number 10 and striker and Shoretire has come in. Bodvarsson has only started 8 games this season and whilst I’m gutted you cant just go out and replace a 64 cap international that easily, it’s not like we’ve sold him. And he’s not played enough this season. So we’d lost the 4 you mentioned and signed 5. The only one that you could consider to be contentious in not having improved us is Dapo to Shoretire (but I think Shoretire is a quality player and will silence any doubters… I’m still surprised we managed to get him) The squad as a whole has improved player for player IMO.

We have now lost Aimson too so need to replace him but he only left yesterday. I’m sure he will be replaced.

All three inferior to dapo......Shoretire is a number 10 and will be the link player
Randell Williams is not as good as John
Nlundulu is injured not seen enough of him to form a opinion
Jerome adds experience and will be used as a impact player
No problems with getting shot of any player but i have a opinion which means exactly jack shit.....It is Evatt call

Haha 2 of them haven’t even played for us yet ffs and you are saying all 3 arent as good as Dapo. Dapo hasn’t played in the champ and Jerome has scored 150 goals in the prem and champ hasn’t he? Shoretire has a genuine chance of playing for England and Dapo has played loads as a 10. If you are judging Dapo as a striker only then Jerome and Adeboyejo are almost certainly as good if not better (I’d also start Dion up front over Dapo too every day of the week). Dapo was only really effective on the wing. 2 of those important goals he scored this season were when we changed shaped chasing the game and he was stuck out on the left again. Come on mate!

Opinions are all well and good but Nlundulu has played 1 game hasn’t he? And that was when he came on as a sub. Williams has barely played for 18 months and played 3/4 (and was decent in the first couple). 2 haven’t played for us yet. And you are writing them all off as worse than we have. Give them 10-15 games then make a judgment surely? Dapo scored 1 in 18 or something in his first season and that was on the final day of the season.

I forgot playing 40 games in a season is 'injured pretty much all of his time'
Exactly. He's no Sam Stubbs.
Give us experience as our current back three is two academy players and a converted right back (as Stubbs is still injured). Genuinely think he will make a real difference

you are picking players in there prime against a Dapo today.......all due respect I think Trafford will play for England but he is nowhere near yet Shoretire is in that bracket. Jerome was a one in 3 scorer ten years ago but in the last two years he has 4 in 52.....So again he is not in his prime so cannot say he has done this and that

Because he’s mainly played as an impact player. Look at the way their fans and manager reacted. They didn’t want him to leave. If you are going on the here and now… Adeboyejo and Charles have scored way more and contributed more than Dapo in the last 6-12 months. Baka has 1 goal this season.

I disagree on Trafford over Shoretire. I think Trafford is a great goalkeeper with huge potential but gks tend to stay as number 1s for years and it’s 1 position… very difficult to break into that club. Ramsdale is only young as well and I’m sure there are others coming through. He’s got a small chance but he won’t get anywhere near for 5 plus years because we have Pope, Pickford etc etc.

Shoretire was voted in the top 50 players under 19 in the world, was united’s academy player of the year (and look at who else is in that academy!) and can play out wide or as a 10. He has a better chance because of that versatility and outfielders get more chances. You are also judging Shoretire when he played 25 mins against Derby and his second game we played with 10 men for 70 minutes. Before the red against Forest Green I thought his movement and passing was brilliant. Cant judge him with 10 men.

Jerome's goal record for Luton is better than Bodvarsson's for Millwall, who was utter shite in the Championship. I'd take Jerome over him any day, 36 or not.

We have awarded a 18 month contract to a impact player and a three and a half year contract to a player who has netted 19 goals in 129 games.....To me he has had a purple patch nothing more

Not bothered about Trafford,Bradley or Shoretire future it wont be with us

But you are missing the whole point of signing Jerome. He’s fantastic for the development of the younger players. He may end up doing his coaching badges etc and he’s a model pro with great experience. That can only benefit us and the rest of the team. It was never a signing for the future.

As far as I’m aware he mainly played out wide for Barnsley. Burton is the first time he’s had a real run in the team as a striker. And as SF said Bodvarssons record was shocking on paper before he came but you rate him don’t you?
