Love all the Torquay fans on Facebook gloating that they took 5 times more to Hemel Hempstead. Without realising the difference between a dead rubber at Mansfield and a pivotal game in the Home Counties.

You've gotta find anyway to cope when you miss out like that on the last day and the bottle it in the last minute.

Serves them right for Tim Sills thuggery!

I have been keeping track all season but has been said there are quite a few estimates in the numbers.

Interestingly the ones at the top are newcomers to the division.

1560 Stockport County
1539 Bolton Wanderers
1491 Huddersfield Town
1434 Mansfield Town
1139 Charlton Athletic
1110 Reading
1064 Barnsley
849 Peterborough United
824 Lincoln City
819 Rotherham United
784 Blackpool
776 Northampton Town
769 Wigan Athletic
752 Leyton Orient
716 Wycombe Wanderers
693 Bristol Rovers
614 Exeter City
594 Cambridge United
545 Shrewsbury Town

Thanks for your help NSE. As you say, there's a number of estimates in there, so my figures are slightly different from yours. Here's the full data, including breakdown of 3pm, 12.30pm and evening games, also showing highest and lowest away followings per club. If you click on the below, it'll make it bigger to help to view...

As always, a few extra tables. This is home fans average, when you take out visiting fans. Again, I've broken it down by 3pm, 12.30pm and evening games, also showing highest and lowest home figures.

Final set of figures, this shows average away fans at visting stadium, again breaking down by 3pm, 12.30pm and evening games. Barnsley the most popular, Exeter the least (over course of season 20,000 more away fans have visited Barnsley than Exeter).

I would post these on the other forum but I haven't registered yet. I'll register before start of new season if this site is still a nightmare.

Very interesting thanks. Demonstrates what we are up against, 20,000 fewer people through the gates is really significant. It's not to do with capacity either, it was only Birmingham and Bristol Rovers who sold out the away end (and a few Brum fans didn't bother).
Come on everyone, its a great trip and if you're lucky you'll get a free cup of tea!

They are at the top because they give other teams a pathetic away allocation

In a similar theme to Yeo Yeo Yeo, I have done a proper willy waving table based on away followings but trying to come up with a way of ironing out games miles away, games on Tuesday nights and games where allocations have sold out. So this list is the MEDIAN average of what a club would expect to take to a game 150 miles away on a Saturday afternoon or 100 miles on a Tuesday night.
Wrexham have come out better than Birmingham because they travel further in the season and Birmingham tend to sell out most places they visit.

Wrexham 1518
Birmingham City 1313
Bolton Wanderers 1098
Huddersfield Town 1049
Stockport County 933
Charlton Athletic 925
Reading 894
Mansfield Town 890
Exeter City 756
Blackpool 653
Barnsley 650
Lincoln City 606
Bristol Rovers 560
Peterborough United 557
Rotherham United 542
Wigan Athletic 535
Leyton Orient 524
Wycombe Wanderers 484
Northampton Town 459
Shrewsbury Town 437
Cambridge United 415
Crawley Town 286
Stevenage 211
Burton Albion 191

The away following table is heavily influenced by the allocations. Take Stockport given 3500 at Blackpool and Bolton given only 2100. Or Wrexham at Wigan given more than us even though Bolton sold out in an hour. Take out the allocations Bolton gave to Stockport and Wrexham and the corresponding allocations alone would have meant the table looking completely different. Not much you can do about the ones that have to be estimated. Barnsley and Burton probably trying to cover up the high percentage of away fans, Wigan seem unashamed that about 13% of their average crowd are supporting the other team.

You never fill ours anyway
Very true, perhaps it is why people like me stopped going to away games when you rock up at a shithole, get charged stupid money to stand and watch a game in the open after travelling for six hours.....Same back.
When we played you the police advice was for nobody to travel because of Snow warnings.
Played you lot on a Glorious August Day......First class facilities and charged you £10 yet you brought a couple of hundred

Well, we won’t be falling into this category next season.

As always, visiting supporters will be allocated 2,800-3,100 at Valley Parade.

It’ll still be too many for Hudders, they never did sell out.
