Almost like SoC says you have been at the right end of the table since covid.

As for us, almost like we might have got new owners since our home attendances increased! Away has always been decent.

Correct - we've sold out both times since Covid (when you've been in the league, or we've been able to play).

We've always travelled away pretty well in honesty, and the away numbers we got compared to when we had lower home fans was still a cracking effort.

Naturally it doesn't apply to all, and a second spark (promotion , new manager, new stadium, new owners) is required imo following the COVID refresh but it's clear some clubs have seen a gradual and/or dramatic jump in their support.

Great to see especially at League Two level.

Gillingham beware the Sutton schooligans will be visiting tomorrow. Hopefully their mum's won't let them out tomorrow night. Mindless vandalism at plough lane on boxing Day smashing up 30 seats .

That's a mess that even the Wombles can't clean up.

I hate hearing stuff like this, it's obviously completely needless and so hard to prevent. I bet every club has been guilty of it at some point bar Wycombe no doubt.

Port Vale fans did very similar at Meadow Lane after we embarrassed them on the pitch. Rightly the club just sent their visiting counterparts the bill for repairs which I'm sure will happen in this case.

True, it’s like losing 5-0 or was it 3-1, either way outplayed on the pitch and smashing the away end toilets up. Nice bill for Alan Hardon that weekend…

Some football fans can be a proper strange bunch, nothing ever beats the offering out of opposition fans from behind a line of stewards or something equally as easy to walk through. Knobs

Yup every club has them, bar Wycombe who are a little too nice.

I have no idea on the scoreline , there have been far too many embarrassing beatings at Field Mill to remember which was which.

Oh I thought it was 900 or the tinpot corner bit for some reason.
Actually I think since we split the Osmond our policy is to initially allocate 900 to longer distance non-tinpotters and see how sales go - semi-tinpot-like (Northampton) or need more tickets (Hartlepool)
That's often the case , Grimsby and Bradford both being prime example. A simple and relatively effective diversion tactic.

However in this example the comments come from fans of clubs sitting currently in 2nd, 5th and 19th. Awful example Adam..

Football fans, especially lower league ones, will always talk enthusiastically Nd bang on about attendances especially when their attendances have taken an impressive and very significant positive jump.
To keep this up - nearly 900 sold for Salford on Friday night. More than I expected.

Infuriating for us. We’ve always been well behaved. Unfortunately a few young uns have come along with our ride to league football and think this stuff is all a right good laugh. Money we can’t afford to chuck away either.

Yeah I know. The vast majority of Sutton fans are fine. I saw them outside before the game acting like complete idiots.

We sold our initial 800 allocation for Wrexham away (1st Jan) and received another 250 yesterday. By early afternoon there were less that 100 left, so with us being at home tomorrow i'd think we'll have sold the full 1050.

I heard that we are expecting a full allocation from Barrow. I'm thinking this is another season high attendance as our temp stand would be sold out too.

856 and 681 to a guaranteed 1200/1300 even if 19th and winless away is some effort in under 5 years.

Viva COVID but damn those changed kickoff times at short notice :bg:
Let’s say 1200/1300 even if 19th, winless away and 12.30 (reasonable notice) is claimed, this is not yet proven so it can’t be guaranteed. TBF though Mansfield (and Chesterfield) numbers haven’t dropped really low to BP even in the NL days and compare well against Notts (never filled the Osmond when 1800 allocated for away - not even close) and Lincoln - disgracefully never filled the Osmond for a league game until the Cowleys era. Impressively the nearby grass-roots club, Scunthorpe, not Cleethorpes Town, have sold out on their last 3 visits. This is in the all-seater era of course. When BP was mainly terracing the Osmond held about 5k, rarely filled in my lifetime - home fans have about 3 times, the Sheffield clubs, Leeds, Newcastle and Chelsea (to win the title), that’s about it.

681 seems low?

It can never be guaranteed, forget no doubt there is plenty of doubt. The 19th and winless away changes everything IMO.

Although it's clearly a giddy opinion Conker is right times have changed significantly at MTFC (& NCFC) since COVID, noticeably less so at GTFC. So on that basis why aren't NCFC offered the 1800 for the upcoming fixture so the Mariners can fully cash in from our visit?

Yeah say what you will about Scunny but they always turn up at BP.

Quite simply because we sold 5.5k STs and as a result the home ends are sold out for any match that has any vague amount of interest.

That's impressive ST sales. No doubt after the promotion and then the amazing FA Cup run last season.

Full house it is then :2thumb:

You’ll always get a few idiots at each team sadly and the rest get tarred with the same brush, not ideal.

I should caveat that by saying that all 5.5k ST holders don't always show up, so while it might be a sell out in terms of tickets, it actually often isn't in terms of bums on seats. There is a ticket resale option but doesn't really get used as much as you'd like. We don't report no show ST holders in the attendance like most clubs at this level though, so the figure we publish will be the actual attendance.

That's not strictly true, though, is it?

That explains your 6,028 average.
Yep with a full away end and a completely full home ends we're at about 8.5k. Average this season is already down on last season's but we've only had Mansfield that have sold out the away end and I don't think anyone else has even half filled it. You lot, Donny, Bradford, Stockport and Wrexham should boost that a bit in the second half of the season. Still though, 6k plus for us in the fourth tier is decent.

Averaging 6K in the fourth tier is certainly decent, in years gone by that would be very aspirational for many. Surprisingly that is only the 12th highest average this season.

Happy to have my ageing memory corrected, (but I’m usually pretty good with stats - cricket fanatic in childhood)

I expect you brought about 2-2.5k in 77 in the old Div 3 when you doing well and we were shit, the attendance was about 8500. In 89 you brought about 1500 (att 11.5k) when you were in with an outside chance of promotion and we got promoted. You sold out the all seater Osmond for the play off semi but I did say league games.

The real question is does it really matter?

Home attendances have always been more important than away attendances. True story.
