Not to be billy big bollocks, because we never sell out away games usually, but it’s a shame no more tickets will be given.. in a game where it would be good to get a high a crowd as possible. Roles revered we’d give Tranmere as many as they could sell probably, up to a point of about 3,800.

Also there’s talk of Bury fans not being able to get onto the pitch, would anyone be surprised if Tranmere fans in the main stand didn’t run on the pitch and antagonise the Bury fans if you were to beat us?
first off both sets of fans should stay off the pitch , we are struggling pitch wise so further damage would be not good for us , and also would give both sets of players a chance to applaud fans ! cant see a issue with two sets of fans personally , should be a great atmosphere 2 good teams going for the win , a big away following is great to see , swa swa

Looks set that we will sell out at some point today, is there any chance of another small batch of tickets? 250 or so more? Could still net off 150 seats then.

The capacity of the Cowsheds seems to have dropped in recent years due to broken seats and it's not really economical to replace them. Off the top of my head, you and Spurs will be the only team who've sold out the away end in the past four seasons so spending the money replacing seats that are rarely used isn't top of the priority list.

There is also no provision for segregation in the Johnny King, main stand or paddock due to the position of facilities such as bars and toilets so that's a no go. Even the fenced off seats at the Cowshed end of the Johnny King would cause problems as the only toilets are at either end of the stand. 2,000 home fans only having access to the one (tiny) set of toilets at the opposite end would be chaos!

If you factor in that there may be 9,500 home fans at the game you're starting to run out of space to put a few extra away fans anyway. The capacity is on Wikipedia as 16.5k but the Spurs game was a sellout at 12,500 due to unreserved seating, TV gantries, new disabled section and segregation.

In terms of going on the pitch, with another game at Prenton Park looking likely I'd hope we're doing everything we can to minimise it from either set of fans. The weather on Saturday is looking pretty grim so 2,000 Shakers having a promotion party on the pitch wouldn't do it any favours.

Any away fans in the Johnny King will be fine as long as they don't take the piss. The average age in that stand is about 70 so you're unlikely to see anyone deal out the kind of punishment Tranmerewhite is on about but I imagine anyone overly celebrating away goals will be swiftly ejected.

Fingers crossed for some revenge for our last meeting at Prenton Park!

The people moaning about wanting more tickets are probably the same ones that do 1 or two away games a season. 2,000 is plently for a side in the 4th division to give especially when they will be filling most of their end too.

We're not punishing you, as mentioned we just don't have the ability to segregate the Borough Road or part of the Main Stand. The turnstiles are in the wrong place, and the facilities aren't separable. We used to segregate the Kop, but it'll be largely full with home fans so there won't be room.

Bury would have taken 5,000 if they were allocated.

Double their home support and 15x their average away support :fl:

Odd post. We get about 3,500 home fans at home matches, a small but loyal following. I think it’s a valid point that we could have shifted quite a few more given the possibility of promotion in this game. It was the exact same debates last time this happened in 2015, albeit we got an extra 400 tickets that time...

It is not logistically possible for us to give Bury more tickets. If the semi-regulars are really desperate to see the game they can get a seat in the Main Stand, which won't sell out, keep a low profile and experience no trouble. That is what the Leeds and Forest supporters generally did.

Liverpool only got 2,000 tickets for an FA Cup Quarter Final, so that allocation is ample for Bury.

Bury are far bigger than Liverpool, Leeds or Forest though. They’re almost as big as Mansfield in fact.

Not sure who’s claiming Bury are some sort of big club. In normal circumstances we’d have brought 800-1,000... clearly this is a more important game than usual so it’s only natural that we have greater demand for tickets. Clearly we aren’t getting anymore so that’s the end of it.

We have two FA Cup wins, that allows us to demand thousands of tickets.

Cheers.
Could I ask you for your estimates for the games that I have nothing for?

Ours at Swindon looked about the same as last season so 700-800 odd. It’s not shown in our home programmes, don’t know about Swindon’s.

Been given 500 for FGR which I assume is an initial allocation.
I know we have this every year but how do they get away with not selling away fans tickets in the seats?

There is a seated away section down the side of the pitch- between the away terrace and the South stand- holds around 200 seats.

No bother, we’re back to soften the blow.
Surely you'll need your own dedicated "away support" thread - something like "the inadequate away end for Bradford discussion thread"

BTW can you help bring Scunthorpe with you by grabbing a win tomorrow - we need a Lincolnshire derby with the loss of the BarcaGrimsby v Real Lincoln El Grassico fixtures
