Why not? It deserves mocking. It is literally 11 miles from ground to ground and they did not sell out according to the other poster…

Also, as a club who have not won an away game since April, I am surprised our away followings are even what they are.

Edit to add: see below too, at least 11 clubs, including AFC, that we can now officially mock :woo:
They took 300 odd to bradford recently there's no way on earth they are not selling out Bromley on the 1st away Saturday of the season, absolutely no way, they brought about 800 here a couple of years ago on the opening day
MK mocking Wimbledons (or indeed anyones) away following excellent stuff

I’m just quoting the facts and the facts are they had sub 400…

Have to say I've never been concerned about a larger following giving the away team a massive boost. Maybe because the only teams that sell out at vale are the ones where it's a bit silly we are playing them in the league...the Leeds/Sheffield's/derbys etc who are usually dicking the league anyway. I wouldn't be thinking "oh it's much better to play at home to notts county with a 1900 following than a 2900 following" I tend to look forward to the games with a busy away end. No one has ever said "wow Crewe have managed to bring 1000 instead of 500, we had better up our game"

Is that just me?

If it's police then can't argue with notts but if it's notts it does make you sound weak as piss.

I fully agree and would generally go more the merrier (apart from you, Chesterfield). Just a weird quirk of our away end.

I would say to any any Vale fans without tickets that we’re pretty sound. Don’t go in the Kop and don’t be a dick if you score and you’ll be absolutely fine in the home end anyway.

Poor that. I do wonder if Sky is to blame for that. That's about 100-150 down on what you'd expect.
It’s the exact reason I missed my first away of the season last night. It’s why I won’t go to Newport on a Friday in a couple of weeks either

I would say average considering you took just under 450 to Carlisle on Saturday.

Over 400 from Nottingham in Cumbria on a wet Tuesday after over 900 at Morecambe is ermmmmm solid? Average?

I would say the 400 to Carlisle is much better than the 900 to Morcambe, really low numbers everywhere last night. In League 1 only 640 to Brum, Lincoln 314 to Blackpool. Mansfields is the best following of the night 550 to Crawley. No doubt every game live on Sky is effecting numbers, home as well - looked a shite crowd at Gills

First midweek with Sky+ showing the games and seems to show in the attendances somewhat there.

Attendances will sadly always look poor at Priestfield while the Brian Moore Stand is left there empty and out of use to be fair, one of the 3 visible stands from the camera side and it's totally abandoned. For the Saturday games this season I think we've sold out the Rainham End for every game, and the two side stands both sell well, I think it just looks poor thanks to the temp stand. Definitely agree that the Sky effect will knacker midweek crowds up and down the country though, that was inevitable. A crowd of just over 5.5k down from 7 at the weekend, and that's with more Grimsby than Barrow fans in attendance. nearly a 2k drop in home support which is a tad worrying, but obvious mitigating factors at play.

Yeah we often struggle going that far West. 400+ on a school night is a very decent effort from Notts. 900 to Morecambe is also decent. I don't think we've ever been there when we've been flying high in the top spots but the most similar circumstance I guess would be the opening day of the season and that's about what we took too.

Will be interesting to see what we take to Tranmere on a Tuesday in a few weeks if we keep up our new found form as that's another one over that way that we don't always take loads to.

That stand behind your goal always looks cracking whenever you score at that end to be fair.

Yeah the comms last night were talking about two seasons ago when that stand essentially sucked the ball into the net off Hawkins' head to win the match. I was there that night and wrote on here at the time how good the Gills fans were, it's one of the noisiest home stands in the division once it gets going, for me.

Notts County have relented a little and given Vale another 309 tickets.

Apparently part of a reciprocal arrangement between both clubs so we've said you'll get what we get it seems for the reverse which should suit both parties.
