It’s fair to say there isn’t a good amount of optimism amongst Sutton fans ahead of tomorrow. Last weekends humbling in the FA Cup combined with what can best be described as mixed form in the league in the last month or so doesn’t lead to positivity.

The injury list is still eye watering, so our potential starting XI is a bit guess work and we’re playing a team with a good away record. Anything from this game would be a positive really

We've got two fit defenders, Curle has said we'll have to go there and attack. Expect goals and lots of them to the home side. We always lose there.

We’re pulling a Carlisle, DOZENS injured, skeleton squad, bench full of youth team.

Tranmere at home. Expecting a close game. They’ve not won in a while but don’t get beaten often.

Nailed on draw.

Trip to Swindon, not been a happy hunting ground for a currently out of form Rovers. Aside from long-term absentees only McAlear name-checked as injured in Mellon’s pre-match. Expecting we’ll play 532 to mirror the hosts and a toss-up between Nevitt/Lewis who partners Hemmings up front in a strike force that’s been firing too many blanks. Reckon we will be playing for the draw.

Don’t know what to expect of Swindon after their decent league form contrasted with the Cup thumping by Stockport, who looked a decent team when we played them, but on that day didn’t offer much in attack. I’d settle for a point, but home win more likely.

Think we’ve junked 5-3-2 lately. Gone 4-4-2ish which brings the best out of both our front 2 of Wakeling/Jephcott. We’re starting to create a lot of chances (Stockport apart) but, equally, give up a lot of chances for the opposition.

So, are our strikers better than yours?

Barrow look to have too much for Crawley but we seemed to have regained a lot of togetherness and team spirit since Betsy left. Two big losses in the cups (against higher ranked teams) doesn't seem to have dampened it down and you can go a long way on spirit.

I think we may get beat 1-2 and cue lots of disappointment and fans saying it's about time we appointed a manager ... well it is.

To me it looks as though wagmi may be waiting for Young to lose, in the league, before replacing him. It seems a five game unbeaten run is not the sort of stat that our stat based model cares about. There's a video of them moaning about the underlying stats.

Going to the County Ground tomorrow. Hoping for a better game than my last trip against Colchester, however a repeat result would be lovely.

Expecting a cagey affair.

Feels like an important game on Saturday, at least for this stage of the season because we need to find a way to get a win, sure it be a difficult game. First visit for me at Rochdale somehow.

Sutton away:

Matty Platt is suspended, so big loss at the back. Tyreik Weight went off injured shortly after Cook’s goal midweek. I haven’t listened the Hughes’ presser, so I have no idea whether he’s fit or not - another big loss if he isn’t.

GK: Harry Lewis

RB: Brad Halliday
CB: Timi Odusina
CB: Romoney Critchlow
LB: Matty Foulds

CM: Ritchie Smallwood
CM: Alex Gilliead

RW: Scott Banks
CAM: Harry Chapman
LW: Tyreik Wright/Abo Eisa

ST: Andy Cook

This is exactly the type of game that we tend to lose - our only saving grace is that it’s away - where our form has been shithot.

Big game next week at home to Northampton, so providing we take at least 4 collective points from both, then I’ll be happy - no matter which way round.

1,000 or so making the 9 hour round journey.
1-0 win

Gills away. We’re not in the best form so may be a good chance for a home win. We’ve started to get some players back so hopefully we’ll be a bit fresher.

Heading down on the train for this one.

Battle of the County's tomorrow as we head to Rodney Parade for the first time ever (I think!)

New ground to tick off for me tomorrow. Should be an interesting game. Our form has picked up dramatically of late (5 wins from 6 with 0 goals conceded) but Newport have also picked up since Coughlan took charge and are unbeaten in the league under his tenure.

Would love 3 points but away from home would be fairly happy with 1.

Should be interesting to see our starting XI tomorrow. The manner of the victory over Swindon in the FA Cup having made 9 changes will give DC a selection headache. It's certainly be harsh for Sarcevic to be dropped after his MOTM performance.

I think the team will be:

GK Ben Hinchliffe
RWB James Brown
RCB Akil Wright
CB Fraser Horsfall
LCB Chris Hussey
LWB Calum McDonald
CM Ryan Croasdale
CM Will Collar
CM Antoni Sarcevic
STK Kyle Wootton
STK Paddy Madden

Bench:
Bobby Jones (GK)
Joe Lewis
Macauley Southam-Hales
Callum Camps
Myles Hippolyte
Ollie Crankshaw
Connor Lemonhaigh-Evans

It's a joke to be honest but in one way we're a better attacking side than a defending one so let's just go there and batter the fuck out of them

Our midfield is lightweight to none existent and we have very little attacking options if Miller isn’t effective, we are basically treading water until January when hopefully we can bring in 3 or 4 players. Can only see a defeat

I have no recollection of last season, but my point, essentially, comes down to complacency.

We’re far more likely to lose/perform poorly against sides at the other end of the table (no disrespect). Take our losses to Colchester and Stockport as fine examples.

I’m more confident we’ll turn Orient over on their own patch in 3 weeks time than win against you lot tomorrow.

Crawley away for us and a must win game - we need to win to ensure we stay above relegation threatened Carlisle United. If we could win it would set us up nicely for Hartlepool at home the following week.

We've no fit strikers again, as per Plymouth game...

Although McAtee, with his new shoulder, has been seen in MacDonalds in Cleethorpes carbing up.

Odusina?
That's 3 points for Sutton then.

Can't see anything other than a sound thrashing for Pools.
Even when Stevenage are struggling, they always turn us over.

Nope definitely been there before, think it was a rather drab draw about a decade ago

A trickery trip to Harrogate, we will either win 3-0 like we did last season or lose 1-0 with about 70% possession and only one shot on target. Harrogate are 4th bottom for a reason but do seem to get the odd victory against the leagues better sides.

Tom James and Craig Clay both banned for this one with Jordan Brown likely to come in at right back.

We need to learn to cope better when we don’t get things our own way and try and be better in the attacking third with all the possession and control we generally have in games.
