Thought Stockport were decent today. Much the better side. Would’ve taken a point at HT. we are far too defensive at home, Stockport passed through our midfield at will.

He’s OKish. Thought he’d be better but I’d say L2 is his level.

Miller is the best striker I’ve seen all season, ripped us to bits today and we were absolutely shite.

Only positive is McAtee being back and scoring, I’m convinced he can be the best in this league.

Very pleased with a point against Salford. It looks like JJ has finally worked out his best formation. We were without Ayoub Assal - suspended for 5 yellows - who has frequently been the second best player on the pitch. Second clean sheet in a row for Tanz - a confidence keeper.

8 points from our first 9 matches and 15 for the next 9. Unbeaten in 7 in all competitions. Happy with that.

Yeah pretty accurate match report

Was quite sad to see really, felt a little bit like a cup match against a lower league side. Just zero quality in the final third Adelakun in particular wasteful.

The stat that sums it up best is Sam Hoskins 13th goal of the season today is more than double the amount the Gills have scored all season.

I remember we were linked in the summer and everybody on here said he was rubbish.

Yeah remember that and then he scored against us at their place and always seems to be chasing scoring goals looking quick and sharp whenever I catch the EFL highlights.

I'd test Doncaster for him in Jan. He looks a bit of what we lack IMO. How much would it take, realistically? DearneValleyRover

I do think we'll be active in January, we're getting rid of some ready and we have a decent budget remaining I reckon if the right player comes along for a price we feel fits and isn't OTT.

Challinor might well do.
He'd agreed a deal to bring Miller to Pools, until someone stuck their beak in & tried to reduce the terms.

More than you could afford, it’s a bit of a myth that we have no money. We basically are self funding giving us a big enough fund for players. If Miller were to leave it would only be to a club higher up the food chain

I have no idea how much or little money you had, just wondering.

We've probably got a bit more money than you think, we've not really spent it since coming up. I reckon we'll have a decent fee striker coming in either January or more likely the summer. But fair play if you really would ask for big bucks, we'll have to look elsewhere.

We wasn't at our best today, but we took our chances and managed the second half well to see the win out.

We scored our first goal of the season from corner and our first header - From 5'7 Paul Smyth of all people!

Harrogate looked threatening when going forward they had a few moments to pull it back to 2-1 which would've changed things, Vigs had to pull off a few saves and Beckles cleared one off the line - But at the back they are shite, I was frustrated we didn't get another and expose their clearly visible shoddy defensive organisation because they leave themselves so open at times. But they've always been that way under Weaver.

I'd expect them to be down there.

Bradford fans will find it amusing that they kept going on pre game over the tannoy that last week "they beat Bradford City and enjoyed that one"

When advertising season tickets they had an image of our players on one of the boarding’s, truly a strange club can’t wait until they go down.

Strange is the right word. You can't seem to buy tickets on the day of their home games, every home game is all ticket due to how small and poorly organised their ground is.

I went to their shop in town today, only wanted a programme but there was a sign in the window which read:

"We're closed today due to the match at the ground, you can't buy tickets for the game today, for anything please go to the ground"

Then you've got Simon Weaver who would've been moved on ages ago had it not been his dad being the owner, they're easily the strangest club to have come up from non league. The atmosphere there is sterile too, doesn't feel like theres much passion in their crowd.

Like Harrogate as a town, nice place to live, although I prefer neighbouring Knaresborough. However, as you say, the strangest club to escape non league. The town is full of Leeds supporters and they will never attract any passionate fans of their own. Truly punching way above their weight

Yeah got his 5th booking today

Whilst we should be confident either way, that's certainly a big plus for us then.

Should be cracking atmosphere next week, how many Cobblers are expected to travel up?

Wasn't there, but from all accounts Dale struggled a bit against a solid and competent Mansfield team. Defended reasonably well, but the Stags took their one clear-cut chance, and didn't have enough nouse to penetrate their defence.

Two home games last week against top half (at least) teams. Managed to narrowly beat Salford, couldn't hold out against Mansfield.

Sutton away next Saturday. Nothing against Sutton, but with their iffy form and injury list we should be hoping to win.

Not a dig but he’s got 2 1/2 years left on his contract, already in double figures and still young, normally you get a championship club coming in offering 7 figure sums, not sure any fourth tier club would pay that

Sutton were awful, constant percentage balls and nothing else. Lewis didn’t have a save to make. Their only interest was to win set pieces, something they were clever at but little else.
Just watched the post match interview with the Sutton manager. He comes over as pragmatic yet positive. Not once did he moan about the comparison of budgets. Yesterday, we were without Walker , Platt and Wright which would be catastrophic to teams like Sutton but the size of our squad has enabled us to overcome it. Indeed, the return of Walker will be like signing a new player, one of the cleverest attackers in the division. One more reason we have to sort out our home results and get out of this division.

All I’ve seen are the brief Sky highlights which suggest Rovers only had one goal attempt; the goal. Comments from our fans at the game and the match reports suggest otherwise.

Simeu is a bit of a mixed bag but on his day a defensive beast. The perception of the SWA at the match was that the referee was a bit of a homer and he was carding us for challenges which he let go for Swindon or just gave a free-kick. Couldn’t be sure from the highlights if Turnbull had a foot raised going into that challenge, he looked to be trying to head it.

Turnbull was a dead cert red. Highlights were a bit skewed. Neither keeper had that much to do. Your fella made a good late save from the free kick but you also missed a sitter towards the end. Seeing as we had a makeshift defence with Macdonald and Clayton missing I was surprised at the lack of howlers made! Harries has come in for stick even though this was his first game - Bristol Rovers fans absolutely slated him. Thought he did well yesterday.

Can only see the play offs being achieved by both teams - autos seem out of reach. In the end, a fair result between 2 evenly matched sides.

Reflecting a bit on yesterday, think there's a lot of positives. We were very solid with a makeshift backline, thought Euan Murray did very well as the senior defender, Ferguson, Tumilty put in a good shift, even young Brody Paterson battled hard. Killip was having a good game, even threatened to look commanding before he inexplicably lost us the game.

Curle is setting us up in a very rigid, compact shape with lot of men behind the ball and look for quick transitions. We had a very physical front 3, Hamilton is growing on me, wins a lot in the air. Umerah is an obvious starter. Theo Robinson is poor and we should be picking McDonald or Grey over him. We're not playing a great deal of football but I don't think there's much choice except go direct with what we have.

Play like we did yesterday and we will pick up more points. The effort has never not been there but it seems the management are getting through to them and starting to make the most of a limited set of players. He seems to say the right things post match as well. Unpopular opinion but I'm not writing us off just yet.

I thought over the ninety minutes we deserved to win the game yesterday. The second half was even and end to end, with both sides having chances, but in the first thirty minutes Swindon did not get a kick and they were very fortunate to go in level at half time. It was almost a reversal of our recent games against Carlisle.

I thought some of our passing movements were really good, particularly in the first half, and Simeu and Bristow were excellent. Swindon's best player was their right back, although the floppy haired lad in the number ten role was also quite impressive.

I went yesterday. First 20 minutes we were all over the shop, I guess as the centre back partnership was making its debut and without Williams it took us a while to get organised. Tranmere came out the traps fastest and scored a decent goal. They seemed very organised and the midfield packed so our out ball was to Hutton on the right who put in a terrific ball for Wakeling to equalise.

Second half we dominated without looking dangerous. (bit of a story to our season so far really) Wakeling had a superbly taken goal disallowed for offside, Reed a free kick well saved and a corner cleared off the line(ish) near the end but we didn't quite do enough to warrant the 3 in my eyes. In fact Tranmere could have stolen it with a breakaway which they made a bit of a mess of. I thought Turnbull's red was correct, it looked more clumsy than malicious and I don't think he argued too much when he was given his marching orders.

Overall I guess a decent point although a little disappointing we didn't take all 3 given our 'dominance' in the second half. Wakeling stood out to me, he looked sharp and worked his socks off, thought he should have stayed on and not Jeff Cott who I wasn't impressed with yesterday. Hutton was good on the right but Tranmere seemed to nullify him second half. Nice to see Reed getting 10 minutes or so.

Fair play Donny, sounds like you outfought and bullied us. Surprised as not many teams have had success doing that, but I think we're open to that when we start without Green in the middle though. Perhaps Hurst read DVR's post about them being piss weak and decided to risk it. On the plus side, like Lew says, we've got McAtee BackAtee and he's bagged one already. Our season has been very up and down but to be solidly midtable without our best player by an absolute mile is fairly decent going. Whether or not we have the players to compliment and bring the best out of him, we'll find out in the coming months. It's a shame that Ryan Taylor is now out for three months as, regardless of what some Town fans think about him, the pair have a great partnership.

Not a dig but he’s got 2 1/2 years left on his contract, already in double figures and still young, normally you get a championship club coming in offering 7 figure sums, not sure any fourth tier club would pay that
Yeah, I think you're right that's a little bit rich for Stockport's blood. I do think they'll blow most teams out the water for a player that is up for grabs at this level though. You don't take Sarcevic from Bolton when you're non-league by throwing peanuts around.
