Really Bolton,Bradford Rangers Hillsborough Hysel Thankfully new stadiums have changed all that
Bradford was in a wooden seated grandstand. Really dont think you could compare our ground to Heysel or Hillsborough

I've stood in many a sold out terraces. As they still exist. Being young enough has nothing to do with it.

Terraces all across the world work just fine. As per you just ain't got a clue what you're talking about. Imagine being foolish enough to blame the deaths at Hillsborough on the fact they had a terrace and not because of the policing..and fans
[/QUO
1. An insane feat of overcrowding
2. Virtually everyone who died at Bradford were in the seated part of the stand.
3. A crush in an unsafe stairway.
4. A crush caused by disgusting, wilfully dangerous policing.
5. Hooliganism.

Literally the only one you could directly attribute to terracing is the Burnden Park disaster, though if everyone from Bolton is as terrifically stupid as you I’m not surprised it happened.
I never said anything of the sort....those were the bad old days of little if any health and safety.

Steep terracing with very few crush barriers have no place in football.
A preston fan showed how they do it in Germany
I would have no problem watching football on the terraces like that.

Read a bit about the Burnden Park disaster, tbh had never heard of it but it sounds fucking terrible. Unbelievable that they continued the game with corpses lying next to the pitch.

Tbf I think facilities, security and policing back then was miles away from what you get these days, no way would a stadium be over filled like that.

Awful day in our History.
You cannot comprehend that the game was allowed to carry on they just laid the dead out along the front of the railway end and put coats over them and finished the game.
They reckoned on over 80,000 were on that day.

I love it when away fans, Walsall are prime at it - Around the midlands, act like an 8 hour round trip is a lot. Walsall was one of our closest matches one season, and we were their furthest match.

I remember seeing a journey chart in a Walsall programme one season about 15 years ago and that season they were our closest away game, and we were their furthest. Crazy. I regularly drive between Colchester and south Birmingham and it's really not too far at all when you get used to it.

Haven't they stuck a bit of that rail seating in at Celtic too or is it still just a plan?

I *think* they have got it up there - and also down here, at Shrewsbury. I'm fairly sure that's the only EFL club with "Safe standing". Officially an experiment still, I think, but commonplace in Germany.

Probably there is a solid case for German fans in general being a bit more sensible/restrained than English fans, across the board. But at League one/two level, I'm sure it would work. Certainly general standards of health and safety in the UK now are worlds apart from what they were even in the 80s, let alone earlier.

Exeter isn't that bad of an away day they have some outdoor bar facility by the ground and on my last trip there they gave away for free any unsold pies pasties ect to the vale fans when leaving the ground. Both games I went though vale played shit and lost 2 nil.

Oddly we’ve won 3 times in our last 6 visits to Exeter but always feels like we’ve been shit there. Actually a half decent record there!

Sure it was Exeter where their fans attacked the referee after we got a winner late on in the early 90s and of course qualified for Wembley for the first ever time there in 93 in the Autoglass (maybe the same game?)

You were literally replying to a conversation about going on terraces and SJP.
"Do you actually pay good money to go into these death traps. "

They were your words. Present tense. Which ground, in 2020, if not SJP, were you talking about then? You absolute belter. What terrace is a death trap? Name. One.

You haven't got a sodding clue about anything. Have you ever even been to a football game?

It's literally on the previous page. We are talking about terraces and SJP. You said are you seriously paying to go into these death traps. Nothing edited. Which ground is a death trap if not SJP which was the comment above? You are talking present tense - are you paying. Name one that is a death trap? Any EFL or national league ground that is a death trap because it has a terrace. Come on, we're waiting..

We're planning on putting rail seating when we expand the Stacey West Stand in the summer I think.

It was at our place. Never seen anything quite like that before or since at one of our games. The referee was beyond abysmal that night. Obviously not saying what happened should have happened mind

I cannot comment as i have not stood on a terrace for over 25 years.
I was brought up as a kid on the terraces....it certainly was not fun.

Well i have stood on terraces for over 60+ years (apart from being in the stand for 4 years over 10 years ago ) and still love it. There are far too many new grounds that are souless and polite clapping theatres. People who have stood together on terraces for years, surrounded by other people who have stood together for years suddenly have become lost and the atmosphere has nosedived.

Robert Del Naja AKA 3D (Massive Attack) has become our most recent investor. He's also becoming our artistic director, whatever the fuck that is.
I think I know what you're up to.

Train the players up as ballet dancers and you can get the fans in for a 'Christmas Concert' like at the Albert Hall.
