Harrogate home tickets sold out yesterday, clubs have now agreed to reduce away allocation to make another 500 available on the West Terrace. first come first served and there is a waiting list so anyone not got a ticket yet get in there quick.

A bit under the radar but as of today Port Vale Football Club is finally fully free of Norman Smurthwaite! The final installment of the £4.5 Million purchase Carol and Kevin had to pay for the club!

Should free up more funds now to push on but more importantly the last strings of that awful saga are finally broken!

It’s great that we are now finally free of that twat in every single way. Knew the final instalment was due shortly. If he had not sold when he did there is no doubt in my mind we’d be Oldham or Scunny right now.

Hopefully he never darkens the door of any other football club in future.

Problem is I think today means he can now get into another EFL club!

Yeah I think he was linked with Wigan at one stage. The one thing with him that I suspect makes it unlikely is just how thin-skinned he is when it came to people criticising him. Others should also know what he’s like as well so won’t be going in blind. The club just announced it officially anyway.

Is that really Smurf posting on OVF?!

Been away in France for a while and come back to allegations against Crawley's manager that I really cannot believe.

"....Running a segregated changing room with white players toldnot to change with the black players"

I'm sorry but how old do they think Yems is? That didn't happen in the '70s it certainly wouldn't be tolerated by any of the players now. I call that as bullcrap.

Piss taking and banter has always been a part of the workplace and I might have accepted that Yems had overstepped the mark on occasions but some of the things he is accused of are just not believable. Taking the mick out of Greek music...I can see that happening. Making black and white players train separately.? Nah!

Some of these accusations surely can't have been things that happened over one or two weeks, how did take so long to come to light?

I see the EFL have officially named dave as having the best pitch in L2, some turn around from the bog we used to have, so the WRU's £1m investment has come good.
So it should be, brand new and you had an extra month to get it ready.

Our pitch was second, although we had to pay for it ourselves unfortunately.

As we did with ours.
Still, can't complain too much about "The Dave" this season....helped us to three points toward our promotion surge.
So thank you, those, leek-sucking egg-chasers.

I don't know why anyone would think we got the pitch as a freebie, I don't know the details but plainly we would have paid our way. Financially we have been in the black for years while the rugby is a long-term basket case.

We missed the first two games - Mansfield swapped and Northampton was played later - but factor in that it has also had 15 or so rugby games on it. (The legacy Newport RFC now plays nearly all its games at our old ground.)

A nice article on Sutton legend Craig Dundas who earlier this season became the oldest person to make their Football League debut since World War II

I've mentioned it before but it's quite ridiculous how the EFL have destroyed quite a few teams this year with the embargo they placed on clubs. 7 clubs had embargoes placed on them:

Derby
Reading
Fleetwood
Gillingham
Swindon
Oldham
Scunthorpe

Four of the 7 teams got relegated, two almost got relegated. Swindon are an outlier, fair play to them for overcoming it. The EFL let these dodgy owners take over clubs and then punish the clubs even further when these owners fuck up.

Hull City as well but fortunately for them they found a new owner. Shows how restrictive it was when they couldn’t spend £50,000 on a player till the takeover.

I had to laugh this morning when i saw a Northampton Fan page/Blog thing bring up the Bristol Rovers game again, is this going to go on for years like York's pseudo grudge with us or will it be forgotten.

Not an issue now from this callsign.
Towards the end of the season, if we'd have beaten you at your place or them at ours, it wouldn't have been an issue. :ffs:
We'll just have to go up as runaway Champions this season and not rely on others.

The football Twitter weirdos like to rehash it every now and then, meh personally I’m over it

(but also hope Scunthorpe is crushed into the earth by a meteor - maybe it has already who can tell)

I know we no longer in the football league but today might just be the best day supporting Oldham as the club owner has agreed a deal to sell the club. The ground owner has also agreed a deal to sell so everything coming back under one owner . Thank you to all who supported us in our fight to get rid of the worst owner in the football league special mention to Blackpool orient and port vale Wigan and Bolton supporters for tremendous unity against poor owners

Great news, especially with the ground as well. Is that including the new stand as I seem to remember something about that being quite convoluted as well? Hopefully this is the start of Oldham getting back up to where they should be.

Great news, gives the club a chance to reestablish itself.

The road back will be a bumpy one, but this is the first step.
