Bit of a fact when Morecambe got promoted in 2007, Blackpool got promoted to Championship could it be happening again

Mystery isnt it
Most definitely after watching that tonight but this tie is far from over. If we get a referee who actually disallows goals for fouls on keepers and handballs we shall have a good chance of turning this around. It`s pretty obvious that we are a better footballing team than Morecambe . The only positive thing I can say about them is that they are well organised. Other than that they re nothing special. Far from it.

We're not special cause they all play for each other and we don't really have standout's like Vaughan

you`re nothing special because based on what I saw tonight you are a bunch of time wasting cheats. No wonder your crowds are so pathetic

Well we were there last season so go ask if people were that hacked off about that.

It’s a brilliant result for you because watching the game and looking at the stats, a Morecambe win was the most unlikely outcome. I’m sure you’ll do the same Sunday and it’s on us to break you down.

That said some of the time wasting tonight was pathetic but the referee completely fell for it. Player goes down injured off the pitch. Shuffles across to make sure he’s on the pitch. Thinks he’s too close to the touchline so runs 5 yards and sits down on the pitch. Then sits down again 30 seconds after being treated. Comical really.

Clearly Morecambe were a little fortunate to get the win but end of the day that is what they've come away with and have been getting them all season so it's not an accident. I'd say it's very much testament to what a good job Derek Adams has done in organising that team and getting them to work as a unit. They are more than capable of coming forward themselves though, although we won in the end when they came to VP they had us defending desperately at times so are more than capable of changing up if required. If it is true that he might be going to Bradford that will be a big problem for them next season but we'll see.

Am still going with Newport out of these four teams but it was this stage of the playoffs last season that made the assumption Cheltenham would breeze it so all to play for still.

Well, Bradford fans, what do you think of the Adams way? I bet there's a few having second thoughts after that performance tonight. Maybe he's not a good manager at all, it's just that God is a Scottish Presbyterian?

Ugly yet organised with everyone playing for one another, its a throw back to Phil Parkinson from our part. If a manager with Kelvin Mellor and NKP in defence can reach the PO’s he must have something about him,

Exactly as I expected really, typical Adams side. I'll be honest, I don't want him here and never have and tonight didn't change my mind. I think our young CEO will be blinded by his record at this level though, especially if he takes you up.

Decent effort from the spectators for creating such a good atmosphere, considering the non atmospheres at other play off games this week.

Morecambe put in a good away performance, Tranmere got dragged into a battle in the end and that suited Morecambe.

Could go either way second leg as it’s finely balanced.

On a serious note, it's only half time, the job isn't done yet and Tranmere looked very good early on, then just ran out of ideas. Blackett-Taylor looked a handful.

Anything could happen on Sunday, it's vital that we start well, the first goal will be massive.

Rovers played very well first half but some iffy defending meant we were trailing at h/t. Some of the Morecambe time wasting and breaking up play second half was straight out of the Mark Cooper Forest Green handbook. Vaughan wasn’t fully fit and the subs made little impact, closest we got to scoring after h/t was Monthe’s palmed away header. Whatever his faults, the ref added 8 minutes on and Rovers didn’t make use of it.

From the replay I saw didn’t look like handball in the build-up to the Shrimps second goal.

All that Morecambe need to do is play the same way second leg, almost like the away team again and pick off the chances they do get. Will the fan presence force a more attacking approach or will they be quite content with tactics to hold onto the lead? Think I would in their situation.

While the game isn’t over yet, I’d say it’s strongly weighted in favour of Morecambe now.

I think we wasnt sure on how tranmere would play cause Dawes and Hill's approach is different plus Vaughan wasnt fit full what i saw

well i was going to stay out of this but YOU brought me into the debate............On this occasion i have to agree with what the Tranmere lads are saying. You played us twice and got Maddison sent off in the first game doing exactly what you did tonight. In the second game at your place you tried to do the same but this time Evatt was waiting for your antics and took Afalayon off before he was sent off because he was being targeted time and time again both by your players and staff off the pitch.

100% honest reflection from that game is that if Morecambe get promoted 20 points will be an achievement.

If you read the Morecambe forum they absolutely hate us and anyone that tries to time waste/play act but they were the worst team I’ve seen this season for it... a load of them said that we were a bunch of cheats after their player lashed out and kicked Afolayan to get sent off. And that was after they got Maddison sent off a few months earlier.

To be fair to Morecambe though...Tranmere would have been wasting time in the second half if the shoe had been on the other foot. It’s just a bit of sour grapes. The refs have done nothing about it all season and I bet virtually every team in the league has done it this season. They came and did a job and are favourites now. I did think Tranmere were fantastic first half though... much better than the recent performances under Hill.

Timewasting at this level has been appalling for a few years now. A couple of years ago the Barnet keeper was booked 5 mins into the second half when they had a half-time lead against us. That didn't stop them for the rest of the game though.

And Cheltenham are just as guilty. Every team are at it now.

"At this level"? You ever watched La Liga? It's like that from kick off.

i thought the game became a farce last night. both teams more interested in trying to get opposition players booked and what was that guy doing when he moved the physio's bag off the pitch? the morecambe player's face was pissing with blood, wasn't like he was feigning injury at all. there was a 2 minute spell where there must have been 4 different players go down holding their face.

i get its fucking frustrating if the other team has gotten away with it, i just don't think tranmere handled it very well at all.

As long as he comes and gets us promoted next season, not really bothered about style in this division. I note you were the third highest scorers in the league, so must be doing something right offensively.

I am still not convinced he is coming by the way.

Pissing with blood ! What game were you watching? It was a very slight nose bleed.

I thought Morecambe were very good last night. Easy on the eye? Not necessarily. Organised, looking for counter attacking opportunities, hard working, breaking play up and scoring when you get opportunies? Yes.

Tranmere got sucked into it in the final 20 minutes or so, spending more time trying to get bookings for opposition players than trying to score.
