Sounds like a fair punishment then
Don’t worry we pay well enough that non of our players actually have to live in Bradford, and as our training ground is on the Leeds boarder it’s never a put off to any potential players.

Thankfully most have cars or can get a 15 minute train from Leeds, it’s been a while since they had to travel by horse and cart.

What do rovers fans make of this?
A couple of years ago you’d be saying ‘Championship here we come!’. These days it’s more ‘Conference here we come!’.

Whelan could be interesting for this level, but Clarke absolutely no way.

Leon Clarke, who seemingly falls out with the manager everywhere he goes, playing under Barton. What could possibly go wrong? He loves an over 30's player, does Joey.

You spelt 'incredibly shite' wrong
Haha. Pitman will score to be fair. Managed a few even with that shambles we had last season.

Clarke seems like an avoid all day every day kind of player. Especially at 36.

We're apparently lining a bid up to try and sign Branden Hanlon from Bristol Rovers too.

Bogle has rejected both offers to leave Donny, with us being one of them

Looks like Bogle is refusing to leave Donny, probably doesn’t want to take a pay cut. Still think he could move somewhere but he’ll be holding out for every last penny, which is fair enough but with only a year on his contract and him not doing anything in 4 years he’s best leaving this window or it could be next stop non league for him.

My guess with Bogle is he and his agent have looked at L2 and how many clubs are in desperate need of a striker and taken the calculation someone is going to do something stupid and overpay for him before the window closes so will take their time. I doubt we were the other club involved but if we were I’d move on anyway. Not worth it for a player who hasn’t really produced in a very long time.

Pitman scored a cracking goal on Saturday but it was disallowed.
He will score if he gets service but the biggest job will be getting minutes from him on the pitch

Donny have the exact same problem we do with Theo Robinson. Underperforming forward on an expensive contract we desperately want rid of but the problem is other clubs know it and also the player is perfectly happy to sit on his contract doing nothing but training with the youth team etc.

I think we'd be quite willing to do anything to get him a new club to be honest whether that's loaning him with us both contributing to the wages etc or negotiating a payoff. Probably would need our respective DOF's to do any negotiating or at least make sure DC and Pomlett don't do it between each other, would probably be a bit awkward that.

Was hoping Colchester after they sold that lad to Peterborough would be in for him, he did also attend their League Cup game with Blues but nothing happened since.

Josh Wright no longer included in the Crawley town squad .

Two competing things are said to have happened.

1st. We have paid his contract up.

2nd. His contact was for six months with an option for two years more if he reached the required games not as reported by the club at the time a 2 1/2 year contract.

Just found this quote from Lee Johnson regarding Grigg from last week…

“Will has made it pretty clear over the period of time that he wanted to get back closer to his family that are residing in around the Midlands area,” Johnson added.

“In that sense you then have very different agendas, some people’s agenda is to create the best possible team from the best possible funds. His agenda will obviously be to provide for his family and be happy, happy as possible for that family and still get paid as much as he possibly can. The other club, potential suitors, the same as Sunderland, will be to get that player in at the lowest possible cost.

I think that will wash itself out over the course of the next 19 days".

You’re well rid, I can’t speak for all the other clubs he’s played for but despite a bit of talent I’ve rarely seen a player play with less desire and heart. Personally can’t stand him, I can accept players being shit but I expect 100% effort as a minimum.

That's you, us and Wycombe interested then, with the latter two having already bid. Not sure we'll go to the £150k Rovers wants for him, though.

Would imagine he'd only come to us if we paid him some decent money tbh, or if our location benefits him more which I believe it would as he's from South London I think.

Can't see him turning down a League One side otherwise, I'd expect us to be prepared to pay at least 6 figures for the transfer fee given our recent new investment - think our board want to put down a marker of sorts.

Tbh £150k is absolute peanuts in this market, I’m surprised Lincoln and others are being so stingy?

I personally wouldn’t let him go for that, we so short up front and we won’t get better so I don’t see the point. £150k is so little I’d rather let him go for free in the summer and have him as an option playing.

I'd hold on for Wrexham money if I were you.

Signed Colin Daniel from Burton on a one year deal.
No idea what position, hopefully left back or wing back

Seems like he can play left back, LWB, left midfield and up top. Hopefully he’s decent for us.

From when he was with us was a utility player down the left. Personally never thought much of him but that was in L1.

He was ok, we played him up front if I recall but didn't offer much, bit of a jack of all trades (think some clubs have used him as a full back!) but master of none type player.

We've signed midfielder Liam Kelly from Feyenoord. Formerly of Reading, and a loanee at Oxford. Signed on a 2 year deal.

Seems a good signing for us, but makes me wonder if someone is on their way - Aaron Morley and Conor Grant are more than capable at (at least) L1 level, while young Ethan Brierley played for Man City's age group teams for a couple of months last season, so they could take a closer look...
