Michael Flynn said at the awards evening after the game on Saturday that we have gotten four or five signings over the line already. Not sure if that includes retaining players or all are new players.
Joe Riley is one apparently we shall see

Reports that we're interested in Jordy Hiwula from Doncaster. Still contracted with them for another year, so can't see it unless Donny want rid...
I’ll drive him, no sod it I’ll carry him, how much are we paying you to take him?

I'll meet you outside our ground and carry the bugger back. Hasn't performed at all recently, due to injuries and lack of form. we don't want/need any more non scoring forwards after Calvin Andrew and Matt Done.

Rather have Tommy Rowe, who can score and, like his Stockport team-mates from the 2007/2008 playoff final, is fated to subsequently play for Dale (7 of the 16 man squad have already). There's only Tommy Rowe and Liam Pilkington (promisingly, released by Fleetwood) still in the league who haven't yet played for us. However, the others were all signed by Keith Hill, so Tommy and Liam might get offers from Scunny instead :)

Could be some truth in that. He’s just confirmed on Twitter that he’s leaving Carlisle as he doesn’t feel valued as a player.

To be honest I can’t blame him. I think he’s a brilliant player but he’s turned into a bit of a utility player, filling in for injuries in various positions when really he should have been starting every game in midfield. Good luck to him if he does sign for Walsall.

Rumours have been going round that Horsfall has signed a pre-contract agreement with another team, but no names on who. Roberts has been linked to Ipswitch, also out of contract at the end of the year, but they seem stacked there so seems perhaps unlikely.
Rumours our end we wanted him and we need a new CB so it could be us.

You already took Jones :(. How has he got on for you this season?
He's been excellent.

I can see why you lot were upset at losing him. Good on the ball, dominant in the air and really vital player for us. What's Horsfall like?

Horsfall to me is not too dissimilar. Probably not quite as good on the ball but hes better aerially i would say. Also has 8 league goals so clearly a threat from set pieces.

Can you pop over to Hartlepool & take Omar Bogle back?
What's gone wrong with Bogle?

I've seen him play four(?) times and every time he looked a monster at this level and yet here are two of his clubs fans offering away like he was really poor.

Bogle was never played in the correct role, anybody who thinks he’s a target-man
wants their heads looking. Including the club staff.

He needs more of a chance. Shown enough for me that he can do it if the system we use suits him better

Yeah. I'm surprised a bit given that he ended the season under Simmo playing in his preferred position while the managers who undervalued him (particularly Millen) have gone, but perhaps the season as a whole has left him wanting more strong assurances that he'll play in midfield than Simmo can give him and Walsall have given him that. Maybe he asked for his new contract to state that he won't be used as a defender or something.

Interestingly with Bogle our management said they knew he wouldnt last the game so felt keeping it tight first half his threat would drop away... and it did.

To be fair he spent the first half of the season in the Donny kids team after a falling out with their manager, he was just making his way back into the first team when we signed him.

With a proper pre season and some decent service I think he'll come good for us.

Rumour on the Newport forum that we are after Mickey Demetriou, Scott Bennett and Joe Day from them.

Certainly don’t agree with how Wellens treated him and if he’d played we might have survived however he just wasn’t good enough certainly not a double figure goal scorer

Scot Bennett came through our academy. Solid player and can play CB, CDM and even had a stint as an emergency striker where he did ok. Think he’s well liked at Newport so would be a decent signing for you.
