He would, but on the plus side we can probably (and possibly already have) sign 2/3 players on the wage we had offered him so swings and roundabouts. I suspect those players are Khan from Chesterfield and Darcy from Bolton.

In the games I've seen him, he certainly looks like a good footballer with the posture, touch and balance but he didn't really have any material affect on the games. Did he have more games like that or am I doing him a disservice? Decent player though, particularly at league 2 level.

New owners innit. But not the flashy rich kind, just doing things sensibly and sustainably. (apparently) I don't know what our budget was last season but we were under an embargo so wasn't hugely competitive. This season's budget has been increased by 40%. Helped by good attendances, a mini cup run to the FA Cup third round with a money spinning televised game at home to Man City, play-off income and the sell on from Scott Twine. (about 750k)

I think there are a lot of similarities between ourselves and Port Vale where both clubs got rid of rotten greedy owners and looked to change the ownership model. The club are now evidently looking to build on last season and get out of this division.

Jack was class last season especially towards the end of the season when we managed to squeak into the play-offs. The game where we beat Forest Green Rovers 2-1 at the end of the season the man was an absolute titan, running his heart out for 97 minutes getting on the scoresheet as well.

13 goals and 7 assists is a decent return I reckon. Especially bearing in mind he missed about a dozen games mid-season due to an injury.

I'd argue that increasing your budget off a player sale and a cup run is only technically sustainable if you're giving out one year deals or deals that are paid up in full by that windfall. Attendances going up and staying up is obviously sustainable though. Was your budget low last season? Because 40% is a whopping increase if not. It's good for you that they're backing you but I hope they know what they're doing.

Our owners were quite open about saying that we won't be sustainable for a good few seasons based off the state of the club when they came in and how much money they need to pump in either from their own pockets or from investors. Not sure on the size of the task with you guys, but much needed improvements to Blundell Park and the training ground alone have been expensive for us before we even get to the player/staff budget.

His goals and assists for an attacking mid are as good as anyones in the lower leagues, he won’t be standout in league one though I think fitness has hampered his career some what. Still a quality player at this level. He wasn’t worth the £10k per week we paid him though.

Menayese isn't very good based on what I have seen for and against us. But I believe has looked good at other clubs. During the 5-0 win over Walsall last season he was absolutely hopeless.

Tbh, 40% increase on last year doesn’t mean that much as last year we were hamstrung by Power’s legacy.

We’ve also managed to get our post Power debt down to £1.5m and have payment plans in place for HMRC and the EFL Covid loans.

Conroy and now Payne are now off the payroll as well. We got compo for Garner too. Do well and we’ll be getting c 10,000 crowds.
